Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Found out why my boyfriend has been “helping his sister”

Post image
37.0k Upvotes

Found out today that the $600 my boyfriend has been sending his “sister” every month is actually going to his ex.

We've been together almost 3 years. I literally helped cover our security deposit when we moved because I had some money saved and he told me things were tight for him lol.

I only found out because I mentioned to his sister that I hoped things were getting better financially since he’d been helping her every month. She looked at me like I was insane and said he hasn’t given her money in years.

He gets home in about an hour and has no idea I know.

Anyway salmon, spaghetti and salad and Ѕtake, need carbs before whatever the fuck tonight is gonna be.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted I hate my husband’s O face

Post image

breakfast: half a cookie my toddler didn’t finish from the night before.

I tend to avoid looking at my husband’s face during sex. He’s a wonderful partner, father, person. Plus, I’m very very attracted to him but for some reason, his O face gives me the ick. I feel like a bully for feeling this way. It’s odd because he is a very beautiful man. Tall, long dark hair, blue eyes.. but, before he goes, he looks like he holding an aggressive sneeze. He will NEVER know I think this. Ever. So, hi ladies. Just wanted to chat 😭

Edit/update: I’m a SAHM to a toddler so thanks for making me laugh a lot on a typically hectic go-go-go day. I’m having so much fun reading all these comments. Xoxo and Kazaam!

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted My therapist had to remind me that we're not friends

Post image
25.7k Upvotes

Frozen pizza.

I had to get a new therapist about six months ago (my previous one moved to a new practice that didn't take my insurance). And my new therapist is great! They're also nonbinary, so they understand the experience, and their technique has been working really well for me. We have a very casual relationship and make small talk before and after the sessions, which is not an experience I had with my previous therapists. It's cool.

Last month we had a session involving some pretty intense topics and I got very emotional. As I was leaving, they asked me if I wanted a hug. I did (I am a very pro-hug person). I then started to assume, "Oh, we hug now. We're at the hugging stage." So now we hug whenever I'm about to leave a session.

I had a session today, and toward the end, they brought this up. They said that they need to scale back on that kind of behavior because it's inconsistent with how they interact with their other clients and they want to maintain professionalism, and because "we can't be friends." (They did seem a little sad about that, which was nice, in a way 😅)

The rational part of my mind knew that and understands it completely. The emotional part of my mind is having a bad time right now. I kind of feel like I just got broken up with--which, to me, indicates that I had some Feelings about my therapist that I wasn't conscious of, so now I feel guilty about that, and it's a whole thing.

If only there was a mental health professional I could talk to about this 😛

EDIT: I actually misquoted them, they actually said "we can never be friends" which was even worse lol

EDIT 2: I've literally gotten about a half-dozen DMs asking me about the brand of pizza lmao. It's Screamin' Sicilian Roman-style pepperoni and it was absolutely as tasty as it looked

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted My boyfriend’s mom called me oriental

Post image
32.0k Upvotes

My boyfriend is white and so is his mother. For some reason they still don’t know my ethnicity, even though I’ve mentioned it many times and corrected them every time. (I’m half Thai and half Sri Lankan.)
His mother has called me Chinese before, and I corrected her. Now she just calls me “Oriental” bc she says she doesn’t wanna “offend me” by calling me Chinese or Japanese 🙄I don’t like being called that, and I’ve told my boyfriend many times to speak with her about it. He says he has, but ….. “that’s just the way she is.”We’ve been together for five years, and he’s been talking about getting engaged in the future. But I got so tired of his mother’s behavior that I told him I didn’t want to be part of his family if she was going to keep being racist like this to me. He said I was overreacting, so I “overreacted” by dumping him. Now I’m single, eating aglio e olio pasta and some bread rolls.

Edit: Thank you so much for all the kind words and reassurance! I will not be going back to him and instead will be taking time to focus on myself.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted My neighbour opened a daycare and I want to cry

Post image
8.8k Upvotes

My neighbours moved in two years ago and have been very pleasant and quiet - mostly because they were travelling a lot. We don’t talk much due to a language barrier, but we wave hello and smile when we see them outside. The people who lived there before were good friends of me and my husband and we got along really well, sharing ingredients etc., and I also babysat their toddler for them many times.

They moved, and these new people moved in, and like I said: zero issue for the last couple of years. They have a new baby and she is a screamer - like we can hear her through our closed windows sometimes - which was a small annoyance but not worth venting about. Then I find out the woman is opening a home daycare. We live in a court, so our houses are quite close together - there’s maybe 20ish feet between her front yard and ours, and we share a fence in our backyards. Ever since she opened the daycare my mornings are full of screaming infants and toddlers and the sound sets my teeth on edge and stresses me the fuck out.

My husband and I are childfree by choice - we love our friends’ kids and helped a lot with raising my niece and nephew who are now teens - we are not child-haters by any stretch, but the fact that our beautiful quiet oasis of a house is now at random times peppered with infants and toddlers screaming and crying is driving me insane. I also hate having to close every window in my house to block out the noise - I love fresh air!

We live in Southern Ontario and there is nothing we can legally do about this, we’re just stuck listening to the whining, crying, and screaming at random points in our day. I should have mentioned that I am very noise-sensitive - I wear ear plugs in movie theatres!! - so the random screams are extremely distressing on my system.

I should also add - the sounds of children playing are not what I am talking about, it’s the crying/screaming (mostly from their kid)/whining noises that drive me nuts.

Anyway. Vent over. Just needed to get that out.

Dinner is vegetarian chicken caesar salad (highly recommend Jack & Annie’s chicken tenders if you’re vegetarian)

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted 5YO has 7 cavities and I'm beside myself

Post image
9.3k Upvotes

Leftover chicken and veggies on sweet potatoes noodles with a leftover scallion pancake.

I'm a single parent and I really tried my best. We brush every day, usually twice a day but I'll admit it's not 7/7. We floss so often... It's her favorite part. She doesn't even eat sweets that often. She forgets about her halloween candy by the next morning.

I thought I was doing everything right.

And I'm at the dentist and they're being sooo passive aggressive. Asking how often she eats candy. The last time she brushed.

It's not even about the money. That... Sucks... But I have it in savings. It's fine. I just feel like her entire mouth will be full of silver. She's autistic and already struggling socially... Will this ruin any chance at friendship??

I am just beside myself. I really thought I did my best. Drowning my sorrows my comfort food and a fresh bowl did help though 🌿

Edit: Thank you so much for all the kind words! I am going to get her a second opinion mention she grinds her teeth every night. As well as take a deeper look at her snacks and juices. I am so overwhelmed with everyones kindness, and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted My dad burned through $50k in 3 months

Post image
15.6k Upvotes

Ok y’all I think I just need to throw this story out into the ether so it can stop festering in my head.

Context: I’m an adult, I live with some roommates, although I try to be as self sufficient as possible, I’m a struggling college student. My dad left my family (me and my grandparents) a few years ago to live with his girlfriend and her 3 adult kids. So while he remains in contact with me and gushes about how much he loves me and wants to help me in any way he can, he doesn’t really and instead prioritizes his gf and her “kids”. And yes, I’m an adult and technically I shouldn’t care but it bothers me.

So what got me on this app to post here for the first time after a lifetime of lingering? Well, 3 months ago my dad won $50k (after taxes) he got lucky from the casino. He already doesn’t make much money, lives paycheck to paycheck, so I was really hoping he’d save some of it. He’s getting older, he has no 401k, no retirement, no savings.

Well… it’s gone. All of it. Within 3 months the $50k + whatever his monthly income is has been spent and he’s back to being broke. I’m in complete disbelief because that type of money could be life changing if handled properly. Not just that… but his gf and her kids work themselves. I’m nosey af so I know their actual living expenses are far less than the household income. And yet…

What did he spend it on? Well, a few years ago he made me an authorized user in his account. Pretty sure he forgot I have access to his statements. So when he said it was all gone because he had to pay his gfs mortgage, I started investigating. (Side note, I respected his privacy up until this point and never checked his account but I was in such disbelief I was like no way uh uhhh so I had to check… pls don’t come for me)

Yeah, no. It was mostly blown on clothes/shoes and eating out with his gf and adult kids 3 times a day. I’m talking $300 on food alone per day on average. I cried. While I’ve been struggling financially which my dad knows, he’s been blowing all his money on his gf and again, need I preface, her adult kids. I genuinely feel confused, hurt, and in disbelief.

The craziest parts? Those had to be omitted because I know one of my dad’s gfs kids will see this and connect the dots. I’m too tired for confrontation.

Thanks for coming to my vent sesh. Breakfast is a pop tart, a cinnamon roll (special thanks to my roomie who made them) and some juice.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Is my bf dumb?

Post image

🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸EDIT FOR THE AMERICANS: No, we do not need a passport to travel to Spain, because we are from the EU. If you are from Europe, you only need an ID to travel in Europe. For the same reason there might be spelling mistakes. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸

My (26F) boyfriend (27M) and I booked this summer vacation 6 months ago.

Last year we could not go on vacation because he was arguing with his boss at work and started a ridiculous negotiation which prevented him to leave the house in specific time frames during the day, so this year I was extra excited to enjoy my vacation in Spain.

Everything was ready and set to go.

TELL ME WHY this man lost his wallet with ID, driver license and credit cards 5 days before the flight.

You might be thinking: "well, that's unfortunate, but he did not do it on purpose, so you should not get angry at him".

Well, kinda. He is known to just throw his stuff around without thinking and lose his essential belongings almost daily.

He's the kind of person who just has to go back into the house at least three times before leaving.

He's the man who invites me out for drinks and then realizes he does not have his wallet when the bill arrives.

He's the guy who locked himself outside his car on our third date and had to call his parents for backup keys (yes, that's how I met the parents).

We were once going on a two days trip and he forgot his fucking shoes at home; he got into the car BARE FEET in a rush and I had to go buy him slippers for the weekend.

Back to the main rant: yesterday he realized he had lost his wallet and ID and came to my house uninvited and in a panic at 10 pm.

At first he accused me of throwing the wallet out with the trash because he thought he might have put it in the bag I was using as a trash holder, which I had thrown out the night before.

Yes, because if you put your wallet in the trash and then it gets thrown out, the fault falls on the person who carried out the trash!

Lucky the trash had not been picked up and he was able to search the bag. Of course it wasn't there.

Since he could not accuse me of throwing away his wallet, he then accused me of being selfish because I was worried about the flight-with-no-ID situation.

We searched the entire house and my car, which we were driving the day before, until 2 am. The wallet was nowhere to be found.

He was pissed and was pouring his frustration on me which made me really upset.

We started arguing. I told him that he keeps ruining anything that makes me happy and that any small thing becomes an extreme challenge if he's involved.

He told me that I get upset for dumb shit and overreact all the times.

I went to sleep at 4am on a work day.

Today at the office, a kind colleague helped me find the municipal office to contact to request urgent IDs.

They granted me an appointment tomorrow for my bf.

It seemed like he was getting a new ID in time.

I was expecting to be thanked at least, but my hopes were disappointed.

When I gave him the good news, he just screamed at me on the phone complaining that the people working at the municipal office are lazy and incompetent.

Sir, excuse me? I don't know how I kept it together. I am shaking with rage just by thinking about it.

Two hours later, he called me. I picked up expecting he's about to scream about some other shit going down. Instead, he went: "hey baaabe" in his puppy voice. I was like: "what do you want". He proceeded to reveal the wallet had been in HIS fucking car this entire time.

I almost fainted in anger.

Yesterday he came to my place accusing me of things without even properly searching his car first.

I had no words and just ended the call.

Chips and mango chilli sauce because I am on fire today.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted I woke up from anesthesia to be told they couldn’t do the potentially life changing procedure due to my allergies

Mini cucumber with seasonings, Moroccan preserved lemon, Volpi mild trio, pepperjack cheese, garden veg Ritz, granola, berries and local honey, a Topo Chico, and the goodest girl who helped me finish it 😋

I’ve had overactive bladder my whole life, and it’s gotten more debilitating as I’ve aged. Some nights I get up 10+ times to pee. In the daytime, I sometimes go multiple times an hour. It affects events for me and makes me skip out sometimes. I never go to the movies, or anywhere I can’t freely and easily access a restroom. It sucks.

I’ve tried so many things for it. After failing my last medication, we decided to trial an implant that basically calms your bladder’s nerves down. They insert wires into your sacrum onto the bladder nerves, and bandage the device to your low back/sacral area. I had the trial procedure and it was very successful. It cut my frequency down by more than half, and the urgency by even more, maybe by 70%? The best part was, they told me the real implant would be even better because it’s placed more precisely and has a bunch more settings you can control yourself with a remote. I was really looking forward to it.

Fast forward a month, and I’m in the hospital for the real deal. They put me under, and when I woke up, I could tell something was up. There was no pain at all, no discomfort even. The surgeon came in and said they could not do my procedure because I have a nickel allergy, and the implant has nickel. There is a protective coating over the nickel, but if the leads were to break off due to trauma, I’d be exposed for who knows how long, and permanent damage could occur.

Yeah. I cried.

I mean, how do you MISS that? That information was in my chart. On my wrist band. BOTH TIMES. They read it all off to me beforehand for confirmation. They should have seen it prior to the trial and called that procedure off.

I’ve had a taste of what it could have been like, and now I’m so bummed. Just needed to vent.

EDIT: I’ve wanted to respond to SO many of your comments, but it seems like a majority were auto deleted 😞

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Fired after my first day of work...

Post image
7.9k Upvotes

Cheesy fries with sour cream, hummus, and deli chicken, with a cherry limeade Ghost.

First thing to know is, I've held down plenty of jobs before. I was even a tax preparer for two whole seasons. Second thing to know is that I'm autistic. I decided, after not having a job for all of 2026 thus far, to be an order packer at my local grocery store. I was hired on the spot after a short interview.

I went in for orientation a few days later. And my boss took everything I did the wrong way. Tried to explain myself and things on my resume? "Talking over her." Tried to retain the information by doing something with my hands? "Doodling." Thought I needed to do all the training videos? No, just the two she gave me (despite the list of about 8 videos saying "DO THIS BEFORE FLOOR TRAINING"). So she called as soon as I got home and said "it's not gonna work out, We're a business, and we need to take things seriously." I was let go on my first day.

Worst part?! She was all fucking smiles and "good job" while I was there!

I don't know whether my autism is regressing, I've been unemployed too long to remember how working, well, works, or if my boss was just a two faced coward. Either way, it's back to the drawing board.

EDIT: Thank you all so much for your words of support and solidarity. This all happened this past Wednesday, so it's still pretty fresh in my mind. I'll be going to a town festival today, and I'm sure that'll get my mood up.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Bf stormed out of the restaurant

Post image

I wanted to take him out to a nice meal after he helped me this week. I chose a place he had never been to but it has one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. Very small place, small menu, farm to table kind place. He didn't look thrilled when he sat down. I offered to go somewhere else he said no. We ordered and he threw a fit. Said I chose that place because I wanted to go there not him and there were only 2 things on the menu he would even eat (the whole menu has 15 items on it) he insisted that it was rude of me to chose a place like that to "thank him" he stormed out of the place. I had to go tell the waitress to cancel our order. We rode 45 minutes back home in utter silence.

Why did we drive so far for dinner? Because I had to pick up my dogs ashes at the vet nearby. I unexpectedly has to put her down 11 days ago.

Lemon yogurt for dinner. Dog in photo is the son of the one I said goodbye to.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted I have feelings for a man & I can’t date him

Post image
5.5k Upvotes

28F. I met a man a few years ago in passing, we have some mutual friends. We follow each other on social media, respond to stories & such, it was never really anything special for those years. We don’t live in the same state. A few months ago, those convos started to ramp up in frequency and we’ve been talking everyday for most of the day since.

I enjoy talking to him. We haven’t explicitly crossed any lines in terms of expressing any romantic interest. The only reason I even think there’s something there is because he calls me sweetheart/sunshine, asks for pictures & tells me I’m beautiful, smart, proud of me, asks me what I’ve eaten, etc. I gave him a nickname recently & he’s been on a high ever since. Back to the explicit part, what I mean is that there has never been anything crossing over into that territory: we don’t tell each other goodnight, I like/love you, no promises to do anything, no “you mean so much to me”, type of stuff. 90% friendship, 10% flirt? Maybe, idk girl.

Nowwwww, the sad part is, in one of our convos he mentioned that he wanted a family. Now he didn’t say this to set an expectation for me or anything, it was just part of a larger conversation we had. Anyway, that kinda killed any fantasies I had. Kids are non-negotiable for me. I don’t want to be a mother or have kids in any lifetime, so it wouldn’t even be a conversation worth having. I had my tubes removed (by choice). We were actually talking in the days leading up to, during & after my procedure. There was no change in topics, tone or frequency between us. Business as usual.

Anyway, I’m not saying anything. The feelings are still there, knowing they can’t be explored sucks, but it’s not something that’s all consuming. I’m just taking the conversation & enjoying the ride. It’s kinda giving me some type of pseudo-romantic companionship fix without having to get emotionally naked or commit. But all of the stuff leading up to this point makes me think that this is what it is for him too.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted My bf gives me the ICK

Post image
3.5k Upvotes

I recently moved in with my boyfriend of almost a year and I think I’m just now realizing how childish and immature my boyfriend is.

Anyways, I’ll be pretty straightforward here. My boyfriend is 20, he’s older than me by nearly a year. This man will go days without showering, rewearing clothes he’s heavily sweat in, farts and burps loudly, and will purposefully skip brushing his teeth if he’s feeling too lazy. But, it gets worse. Not only will he do all of these things, but he thinks it’s hilarious. He will literally put his sweaty, smelly socks in your face because he thinks it’s funny to see your face churn at the smell of his socks. I’m actually just going to list every single disgusting thing he’s done since I’ve moved in that’s been more than irritating.

  1. Will wear the same boxers and shorts out for days at a time
  2. Will loudly burp or fart AT you and then giggle when you look at him with pure disgust
  3. I’ve seen him treat his own ball sweat as a scratch and sniff.
  4. Has continued to dutch oven me and say “sowwy” when I get pissed at him for it because he knows I hate when he does it
  5. He takes 5 minute showers, they’re never longer than 7 minutes and I wish I was joking
  6. Will shove my face in his sweaty armpit thinking it’s hilarious when I’m visibly disgusted
  7. Brushes his teeth in his car then spits it out into an empty cup or bottle and leaves it there until he eventually cleans out his car
  8. Does that thing where he sucks in his snot and swallows it, but then he also coughs it back up because it’s blocking his throat only to swallow it again. This cycle repeats ALL DAY.
  9. Chugs water bottles then just throws them wherever on the floor when there’s an empty trash can 2 feet from where the bottle just landed
  10. Will go literal days without showering, building up sweat and B/O over days and then pouting when I don’t want to cuddle

These are just the few that have really gotten on my nerves because he’s done them more than twice a week since I’ve moved in. I also want to think that he’s like this because he’s an only child and the only grandson. It’s as if he’s believes him being disgusting is cute, but he’s a full grown adult and it’s just revolting. And yes, I have communicated to him that I am absolutely disgusted by the way he acts. He continues to act the way he does and responds with “sowwy 🥺” when I get pissed. Hes a great boyfriend otherwise, but I just can’t get over how unhygienic he is. Everything he does at this point gives me the ick and it’s starting to make me lose interest in him. I just needed to get all of this off my chest.

Anyways.. here’s a delicious cream puff I had for brunch today

Edit : I’m so sorry for such an early edit but I need to add in that I’m in a tough spot when it comes to leaving because leaving would mean quitting the job I just got. I really like the job, the hours, people, and the pay. I would have to move back home and would lose this opportunity. I’m really thinking about asking for a break and sleeping in seperate rooms until he changes his behavior. Otherwise I’d be moving back home.

Edit #2 : I called my best friend and got some input. I read a lot of the replies I got and decided to talk to him about it too. He apologized and said he didnt realize it bothered me the way it did, that he thought he we were both joking and that he’d start being better about himself. In his defense, I never made it a serious conversation and I can see how my reactions could’ve been taken as apart of the joke. I’m giving him a chance to prove that he can actually do better, I won’t be staying with him if he takes my talk as a joke

Edit #3 : To answer some questions,

No, he was not like this before I moved in. It was maybe farts and burps here and there but I literally didn’t think anything of it because I fart and burp around him too

No, I am not “encouraging and allowing” his behavior. We all agree he’s old enough to take care of himself, it’s not my responsibility to tell him how to lmao

Unfortunately, I’m gonna say what yall don’t want to hear but I do still love him. Im giving him a chance because his hygiene habits are fixable. Sorry!

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted I F’d around for a long time and now I’m finding out

Post image

I have been on anti-anxiety medication for almost a decade now. I have really bad chronic anxiety. For almost a year now, I have not been taking my meds. I just forgot one day and told myself “Well I feel fine,” and it spiraled from there. I kept thinking I was fine because I wasn’t feeling generally anxious, besides a few recent moments in the past week triggered by jealousy that normally I don’t even feel.

It all came to a head the night before last. Was talking to a guy on voice call and he mentioned something regarding an in-game roleplay (we play an MMO as roleplayers) and it blindsided and triggered me so bad I felt nauseated all of yesterday. It continued on to today and I felt horrible (plus today I got the worst period cramps I’ve had since high school). I can literally feel myself becoming mentally iller in real time and it’s scaring me. I really enjoy RP and normally it’s fine, but it’s becoming obvious I need to step away until my meds stabilize me. I’ve started taking my meds again and hopefully I return to normal soon, but yeah. I feel like a glass canon poised to off at any second and I’m afraid I’ll come off as some insane woman. I’m an idiot; take your meds, folks! Even if you think you feel fine without them!

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted “You’re welcome to set a pot aside and add what you’d like!”

Post image

Dinner: Sopa de Conchas
I’ve never had this before so I made it tonight in the giant pot below, it was the basic of noodles, spices, tomato sauce. My grandma liked the taste and she wanted to add chicken and vegetables, I didn’t want them in my portion since I liked it plain so I said “You’re welcome to set a pot aside and add what you’d like!” And she agreed with the idea. I come back into the kitchen 15 minutes later and she’s taken over the whole pot and placed half a bowl’s worth for me in the tiny pot above.
Now I have no issue with sharing the food I cook, I made it for the house. I feel it should have been a 50/50 split since I’m the one who made it and she asked me to make dinner tonight.
You’re probably wondering: “why not eat it anyway, it looks good.” And you’re right, until I found out she put beans in which I despise with my whole being. So there goes my leftovers for work tomorrow and Wednesday because she decided to hoard it all for herself.

I made creamy crab tomalley (or crab fat) pasta with bacon and parmesan… so good

I apologize for the grammar errors. English is not my first language.

First of all, I am not friends with these people anymore. But one of them reached out to me a few days ago and it made me remember again why I blocked their asses back then.

For context, I am in the medical field but I do amateur photography and editing as a hobby.

There are 5 of us in this friend group and we all met in college. I was first close to this one girl (let’s call her Bella). So Bella and I were in the same class and she introduced me to the other 3. Throughout those 4 years in college, we were all so close and they treated me well despite me being the newest one in the group. I never had arguments with them, and I never felt like the outcast until this happened.

After college, we all remained close, often having lunches together as we all prepared for our graduation. One day, I was having lunch with Bella and another girl (let’s name her Jen). Bella and Jen were talking about buying color coordinated swimsuits. I didn’t pry, but they all kept talking about planning outfits and tours all in front of me while I just listened to them and didn’t say anything. I didn’t mind if I wasn’t invited really but it felt sucks to be ignored in that conversation.

Fast forward to 2 weeks after our graduation, I saw on instagram that the 4 of them went on a 3-day vacation. It felt sad to be left out honestly. But then again they were all so close to each other before they met me so that’s what I told myself.

When we all went out again after their vacation, it was all they talked about. For a moment I felt sincerely happy for them since they really enjoyed it, but then again I was just a listener. They weren’t even talking to me, just the 4 of them showing each other photos to choose for their profiles etc.

I didn’t understand why they even invited me, and despite being happy for them the more I stayed on that lunch the suckier I felt. Until one of the girls (Mel) stopped mid conversation and said that I could edit their photos to fit their instagram aesthetic. All the girls went crazy on her idea, and said that I wish I was there to take photos of them. I did have a shoot with Jen once and she loved it so much.

Needless to say, I just stood up and left. I felt so disrespected, and all the teensiest bit of happiness I felt for them went out the window. That same day, Bella messaged me to apologize. She actually asked the girls to invite me to the vacation but they told her that I live too far away and that I may not be able to afford it. I couldn’t believe what I read because 1: I live 1 hour away from where they went on a vacation to and 2: I literally own expensive camera equipment. Just because I dress simple and live frugal that doesn’t mean I couldn’t afford a 3-day vacation. They could have asked me first before making assumptions on my life.

That’s when I finally realized that for those few years that they were my friends, they knew nothing about me. I blocked all 4 of them and made me rethink every friendship I had. It made me so insecure because I thought I was the problem.

Anyway, I made new friends along the way. Friends who are genuine and loving. Everyday I am thankful for them in my life.

Sorry for the long post.

EDIT:

(I’m sorry my comment keeps getting deleted but here’s a quick update)

Wow I am so overwhelmed with everyone’s responses. Thank you so much to all of you ladies (and gents) for the lovely replies.

A lot of you have been asking who messaged me and what the message was about. It was actually Bella. I guess she had another instagram account (cause I blocked her main account, I forgot to block the other one) and since we all work in the same field, I guess we had a mutual colleague who tagged me in one of their instagram stories. I recently got a promotion at work and this colleague made a congratulatory post. Bella messaged me and congratulated me using her other account that still follows me. This happened a week ago and that’s actually it. I have yet to reply to her tho.

For the pasta recipe, it’s easy! Fry up some bacon, use the bacon fat to sauté the garlic and onions. I used store-bought crab fat paste and added a few teaspoons to the pan. Add some cream, mix in the pasta, and season to your liking! I like to use paprika, garlic powder, and italian seasoning. Top it off with some fried bacon crumbles and grated parmesan cheese. That’s it!

For those who are not familiar with crab tomalley or fat, here in my country we call it aligue. It’s readily available in jars. I’m not sure if you can find it in your respective countries, but if you do plan on using crab fat, use only a little because it’s not the healthiest 😅 enjoy!

Sending everyone lots of love ❤️

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Husband got me flowers 2 days late because he was uncomfortable with how he felt

So this is year 6 of nothing for Mother’s Day. This year I didn’t expect anything, I just went about my day as normal and didn’t wake my husband’s sorry ass up. I took my kids to the park, got them a treat, and just enjoyed them.

So he wakes up at 5pm (night shift worker) and says “happy Mother’s Day, you didn’t have to let me sleep this long”. I just stared at him. Anyway I’ve just been indifferent the past two days and he’s just moped around all sad that his sorry attempt of having ME go pick us up breakfast didn’t work.

This morning I go and run to the store for a few things of groceries our kids needed, and come back to flowers. He gave me the excuse of “I haven’t exactly had time to get out and get anything” when he was off all weekend, Friday included. He then tells me that he knows when he feels unwanted and he wants to make sure we’re good.

So not only does he not actually care to show appreciation for everything I do to care for our kids and house, all the sacrifices I’ve made (putting off my career to where now I’m having a hard time getting back into the job field), but he only cared to even ATTEMPT to “make it better” when he didn’t like how it made HIM feel.

Before anyone says, I’m looking to leave some point in the future when I will be able to support myself and our kids on my own. May be a couple years, but I refuse to have my kids see and think this is how you treat your mom.

(Ft my RealGood chicken and pepper jack cheese burrito for lunch)

Edit: whoever reported that I might be suicidal, yall I’m good 😂. I’m not depressed or suicidal. I’m over here listening to Bad Bunny and dancing with my baby.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Being in recovery in a glp-1 world feels like the Wild West

I know I’m making the right choice by pushing forward to recover after 15 years of fighting (and losing to) my ED, but wow I really picked an interesting year to get better. I feel like I’m going fucking crazy :)

Creamy chicken noodle soup with olive oil on top to say F you to the mean part of my brain.

Side note: this is obviously not about anyone using these medications for legitimate reason. I know that they can be life-changing, and I don’t want to discredit that. What I’m speaking on, is people who are literally already skinny/underweight, and somehow getting their hands on a medication that is making them emaciated. That’s all!!!

ETA: the soup is a family recipe!!! But here’s a close second: creamy chicken noodle soup

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted my mother is pregnant

my wife (23f) and i (23f) moved in with my mom (41f) this august after our lease was up. she had gone through a divorce and job loss in mid 2025, i am student teaching, and my wife is an immigrant waiting for her work visa. while i am now working an after-school program job and my mom has a coordinator job at my university, we all agree that living with her and paying her $700 a month rent was a win-win situation. we get cheaper rent, a familiar landlord, and stability, she gets help with her mortgage and us helping around the house since my little sister moved out in august to start college. my wife and i cook dinner, buy our own groceries, mow, vacuum, dishes, you name it, we help out with it. growing up, my parents were divorced and i was left to help raise my little sister through all of it. because of this, we have a very close and almost maternal relationship. my mom and i are also very close, oftentimes i call her my best friend. she is now dating her high school sweetheart (43m) who lives about 6.5 hours away. she just informed my sister, wife, and myself that they are pregnant. so many thoughts started racing through my head “she doesn’t have health insurance yet” “she is still recovering from unemployment and the second divorce” “they don’t live in the same state” “i don’t want to have a half sibling 24 years apart from me” “i don’t want him (boyfriend) to start inserting himself as a father figure”. they both seem scared. they’re stressed. they don’t even know if this baby will make it or if they want to keep it. i support my mother and love her. if she wants to have another kid, she is a grown adult and can. but it’s so hard to support her when there is so much fear, uncertainty, and displaced anger. the plan was always to move out after i’m done student teaching. but until then, as we continue to save, i know my mother and i know this will not be easy. we fight a lot, she is quick to stress and anger. what if all of the extra stress from this hurts our relationship? what if this baby comes and i have no connection to them? i am trying to support my mom and i know it’s her choice, but my emotions feel so high from finding out the news.

i’m not seeking advice, just needed to vent before my next therapy appointment.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Over $1k groceries in the trash

Dinner is a "spicy burrito" that wasn't even a little bit spicy but bomb ass bean dip.

We're a family of five. My three kids are 4, 6, and 10. About a month ago my husband asked my oldest to put something in our "big freezer" in the garage. I made it very clear to everyone that he is not to do that. It's old and tricky to close sometimes.

Today we investigated the garage because it smelled rotten. The freezer door wasn't closed. One of the drawers got knocked and prevented it from closing. All of the meat is bad. It was 5 garbage bags no less than 20lbs each full of food. Guestimating at least $1k worth of food just... in the trash.

Then my husband tells me that my oldest got something out of the freezer the other day. He said it was before school and so early and he just wasn't thinking. He let him get whatever it was, he knocked the drawer loose, and didn't close the door. He's been apologizing because he knows I just fucking said that oldest isn't supposed to do that. For this exact reason.

I know he's human, I know he's sorry, I know... but all of our food. We only keep ice cream and ready to make stuff in the house freezer. All of our meat, meal plans, surplus soups and sauces... everything. I just want to cry.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted Received a truly unhinged message from my father-in-law on Mother’s Day

For the most part I had a truly lovely Mother’s Day. Husband handled our toddler and I got to sleep in. He got me flowers and helped our daughter sign a card. It was just a nice day.

Then during bedtime daughter started crying saying her ear hurt. Husband has to leave at 5 am for a business trip. Awesome. We give her Tylenol to keep her comfortable through the night and she thankfully falls asleep pretty quickly.

While husband is packing for his trip I’m on hold with our pediatrician. Foolishly opened up Facebook messenger while I was waiting to find this message waiting for me in my inbox.

“With great displeasure I unwish you the most unhappy bad mother's Day but I wish you all the most bitter tears for years to come that you and your heartless behavior did for the mother of your stupid husband. Karma is a bitch.”

For context, we are estranged from my husband’s parents. His father is just…kinda a nightmare of a human being and Husband’s mother enables it because family. We have tried so hard over many years to improve things, set reasonable boundaries (like “hey maybe don’t call your son an idiot?”) and ultimately we just had to step away. I tried to mediate as much as I could but once my daughter came into the picture I realized protecting her was more important than my in-law’s comfort. Thought I had them blocked on everything but apparently not.

I haven’t responded because there is nothing I can say that will make anything better for anyone. I’m just home with my two dogs (best boys) and a sick toddler and my husband is too far away and I’m just. Sad. About the whole situation. And angry.

I’m eating the leftover baked beans that won’t fit in my kid’s lunchbox for dinner. Like a gremlin.

Vent Sesh - No Advice Wanted My husband never wished me happy birthday

Post image
5.5k Upvotes

My husband and I have been married for almost 4 months, to say it’s been a rocky road is an understatement. We are currently not living in the same house because of some of his behaviour.

Today is my birthday, I got my usual texts from my friends on the other side of the country. No good morning text or anything from my husband, so I assumed he was still sleeping. An hour later I go outside to run to the store, only to see my husband has been by and swapped out the cars. No text, no call. I just thought okay, whatever. The plan was for us to spend time together after work, have a couple beers and enjoy the evening so I thought maybe he was waiting until then.

He calls a few hours later, no happy birthday, nothing. Just straight to complaining how bad his morning was going. I was getting ready for work, straightening my hair, and he accused me of muting the phone and that if I didn’t want to listen to him I should just say that and he hung up on me.

Then the assault of rude messages came in and continued to come in. He said many hurtful things which has been an ongoing issue the past couple months, so I told him I wasn’t responding further. His rude messages continued.

I decided that this is the best birthday gift he could have given me - clarity. If my own husband can treat me this badly on my birthday of all days, this isn’t the marriage, relationship or man for me. I have a consultation with a lawyer tomorrow to find out what my options are for divorce or annulment. 🎈

ETA: Phew, took the doggo for a walk and was not expecting the amount of pure support and love so quickly, how I love being a woman! Thank you to all you beautiful ladies for the messages of support and birthday wishes! 🥹

ETA 2: I was not expecting this post to gain so much traction, what a beautiful community we have here. I cant respond to every single message but wanted to say THANK YOU (& also big happy birthdays to all my fellow Taurus baddies 🫦)

My soon to be ex-husband is a narcissist and did a great job at tearing my mental health down while making it seem like he was trying to build me up. I should have left long before we got married but the empath in me thought I could show him what it’s like to be loved and he’d be the good man he is deep down inside. The absolute love in here has been such a big support system to keep me grounded in my decision to walk away. So THANK YOU and LOVE YOU all so much. I don’t have a lot of friends, and really have no local friends after moving across the country so it’s made navigating this much harder but this community has been so uplifting - i wish we could all go and get drunk, dance and laugh together to celebrate how beautiful this community of strong women is. Thank you for saving me 🥹
