You ever wonder if one of these is just a dude who was ghosted at some point and now they "reunited"

To me, it seems like girls who went on trips by themselves and their boyfriends showed up as a surprise to make sure they weren’t cheating on them!

The last one says "long distance relationship" and the reaction seemed legit to me. For the rest I totally agree.

2 is also probably fine, a study abroad basically becomes a long distance relationship and isnt like a "girls trip" etc

"in Italy" (being from the US, not that he's from Spain) and "propose" made me think otherwise, but it's true, that one has more chances

Yeah, I found the birthday trip one a bit odd, dude let her have her trip with her mates. Thats not a reunion, its borderline controlling

The friends were clearly in on it since they were filming it. I wouldnt be surprised if they flew out to spend the last day or 2, not the whole trip

You think these guys were just wandering around the city, happened to find their girlfriends sitting at lunch, and their friends just happened to be filming?

The world must be such a suprising and scary place from your perspective.

Case in point: The blonde in the middle of the video was actively enjoying having a random dudes arms around her before realizing who it was. In that case the dude would have had a point.

You are just assuming negative intentions for literally no reason at all

Obviously there’s a reason .. whether it’s a good or bad reason to make the assumption is up for debate I’m sure!

Trust, but verify.

u/Kitnado 1h ago

That’s not trust then.

Trust isn't as encompassing of a word as you think. Maybe you're thinking of Faith.

Trusting inherently requires you not knowing, therefore not verifying.

The word definitely encompasses its own meaning.

You are confusing not knowing with certainty with not checking.

Trust means being willing to rely on someone or something despite some uncertainty. Verification can reduce that uncertainty without eliminating it. You can verify your trust in someone, find it reliable, and reasonably trust them more afterward.

Trust does not mean accepting always complete absence of uncertainty.

Like that one girl who surprised her “boyfriend” at a New Year’s Eve party.
