If my wife were on a girls trip in another country and I showed up she'd prob be like ugh wtf are you doing here 😂

Happily married for 25 years and I think my wife would WTF the bajesus out of me if I showed up unannounced on a girls trip. Part of me thinks we’re happily married because I wouldn’t do anything like this.

Of course to be fair to these gorgeous hothouse web-dwelling folks they’re all super young and the dynamic is very different in the early days of “courtin”. Keeping romance alive in my marriage these days is surprising her with three loads of folded laundry, the kids lunches packed and a foot rub.

Now I want to do a video of older couples falling asleep in mismatched pajamas to Victorian Farm on tv with this music playing in the background. Snoring and a farting dog would be mandatory.

Keeping romance alive in my marriage these days is surprising her with three loads

heheh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh

of folded laundry

oh. right.

299

u/jarious 3h ago

Three loads of anything at my age is an incapacitating amount of exercise

121

u/slackmarket 2h ago

I’m laughing out loud in the back room at work, and I am not really a laugh out loud from Reddit comments kinda guy.

3

u/LuxuryBeast 1h ago

But it would most def be surprising, though!

3

u/Shurigin 1h ago

Three Situps all the folding I can do

•

u/jarious 25m ago

I'm exhausted just by reading this

73

u/Voretex17 1h ago

Omg last night my husband did the laundry and AND folded socks. Idk if you know what it’s like to fold a shit ton of children’s socks but my god I’m sure that’s an activity on one of the seven levels of hell. I looked at him and said “you’re working for it tonight aren’t you?” He winked at me and said “ready and waiting after I find this other spider man sock.”

5

u/Proper_Lunch_3640 45m ago

That’s hot

12

u/Squidproquo1130 2h ago

This killed me!!!

75

u/funkdialout 3h ago

Laundry done and lunch, listen up lads, this is wisdom speaking. The less your wife has to view you as a dependent the more she will value you as a sexual partner.

296

u/Fus_Roh_Dayumm 4h ago

Married 10 years. You couldn't pay me to crash a girl's trip. That's prime ME time, too.

107

u/t00oldforthis 4h ago

Literally on the husband's side of a girls trip right now and I was thinking the same thing

25

u/DigNitty 2h ago

Yeah. I love my GF but...

She reassures me she won't stay out later than 10pm or she'll be back from the trip by sunday. And I'm like "No no, stay as long as you want. PLEASE"

Time away from each other is absolutely necessary and doesn't mean you don't love them.

4

u/wrnrg 1h ago

I wfh and my wife is stay-at-home. On the rare occasion she goes out with a friend, she keeps updating me on everything she is doing, almost minutes by minute. I'm like, "Leave me alone. I'm trying to play this game." Lol.

1

u/t00oldforthis 48m ago

Yeah we very rarely do it, our kids are still pretty young and we guilt ourselves about any time not spent outside of work as a family. But every single time one of us has a reason to do it that forces our hand, we have the conversation after about we should do this a little bit more often.

•

u/Positive_Seat_975 10m ago

Can you explain this to my wife? She doesn’t believe me

41

u/bob_apathy 3h ago

My wife had to cancel one last month because of an illness and I was bummed for both of us!

11

u/Chudpaladin 3h ago

The house without the wife is great for a week. After that my clingy ass gets a little sad.

The longest we’ve been separated was 2 months due to work. That was hard.

13

u/Fus_Roh_Dayumm 3h ago

A little bit is medicine. A lot is poison. I get it

1

u/wrnrg 1h ago

I wfh and my wife is currently a stay-at-home mom. She hogs the living room TV, where my "office" is situated. I need her gone so I can watch what I want, lol.

•

u/ABSNegativeOne 24m ago

Just ask her boyfriend if he can bring her to Wendys

•

u/wrnrg 22m ago

Your mom doesn't like Wendy's.

40

u/Disastrous_Return83 4h ago edited 4h ago

I had to give you my first ever award just for the fine use of vernacular (courtin’). I agree with everything you said!

Edited to add - Laundry done and lunches packed? Swoon!

2

u/bottlesnstones 3h ago

Its doing the dishes for me 🫠😍

3

u/Disastrous_Return83 2h ago

lol ok yea that does make me weak in the knees too. My partner is so good at just unloading the dishwasher without being asked. Also he’s proactive in loading what may be there in the sink already too. I thank him daily for it.

Look at these helpful contributory partners out here!! 💜

1

u/bottlesnstones 1h ago

I dont have a dishwasher so its the dishes done in the sink 😁😁

9

u/__ConesOfDunshire__ 3h ago

My wife's currently on a girls trip, and as much as she says how much she wishes I was there when we talk/text, she would not be happy if I just showed up out of nowhere.

13

u/Mekito_Fox 2h ago

"I wish you were here" = I want to plan our own trip

3

u/__ConesOfDunshire__ 2h ago

Yep, which she actually started doing today while she was waiting to bored the plane to come home. 😂

8

u/Redebo 3h ago

Three loads?

My brother in Christ, my apologies as I was not familiar with your game.

14

u/Ntroepy 3h ago

This reminds me of a coffee table book I bought years ago after my divorce called “Porn for Women” that featured a series of photos of good looking men doing household chores like laundry or vacuuming or asking them to go antiquing. It was quite hilarious. At least for the few minutes or so.

https://www.chroniclebooks.com/products/porn-for-women

u/BigTool 3h ago

Keeping romance alive in my marriage these days is surprising her with three loads of folded laundry

Let me tell ya, we've been together for about 16 years now. I got a new job a few months ago. First big purchase was a surprise. A new dyson vacuum. It showed up and she got excited, and then I proceeded to happily do the entire house with it.... That was a good night

2

u/EarlyEggplants 4h ago

I’m just here for Victorian farm!

2

u/vettechrockstar86 3h ago

What’s it say about me that after almost 22 years I’d still be silently hoping that my husband would show up and we could Irish goodbye everyone else and just do our own thing? Honestly I don’t know how I’d make it through the first night, trying to sleep in a strange bed without him sounds impossible to me.

But we’re considered a weird couple already because we’ve been attached at the hip since the day we met. In 22 years we’ve only been apart for 8 days and that was only because he had couple of business trips he went on. We just love our “bubble” and prefer to only leave it if it’s absolutely necessary.

3

u/Mekito_Fox 2h ago

And if your husband knows that about you, it's the same as doing three loads of laundry.

2

u/Mekito_Fox 2h ago

12 years of marriage and if my husband suprised me in a space I don't expect him I would have a panic attack. But if I come home to something on my to do list marked off (and done at least mostly correctly) then the romance is alive!

He did have flowers sent to me at my job though. That was perfect.

1

u/LunatasticWitch 3h ago

Oh if you like the Victorian Farm, I do recommend their other series (Tudor Monastic Farm, Elizabethan, Edwardian and an offshoot where they join the building efforts of a medieval castle in France). Honestly Ruth and the boys are household celebrities between my wife and I.

1

u/sentient_fox 2h ago

I checked the cats teeth yesterday, but also asked her to double check me so I know I didnt fuck it up.

1

u/wtcnbrwndo4u 2h ago

Pretty sure the context here is long distance relationships. I'd think you would definitely be happy to see them if you don't see your partner regularly, even on a girls/boys trip.

1

u/angeldawns 2h ago

When my husband is away I send him the most attractive pictures I can think of....so much laundry folded....and the weird laundry too....like when did we last wash the throw blankets in the living room?  Or the couch covers? All the stupidly big comforters that never dry right.....

Then vacuuming the stairs.

Sweeping the garage out.

Dropping off the donations that kept piling up.

Cutting the grass.

When he gets home I don't want any to do lists lingering and waiting for him.

If I showed up to his trip he would have every right to be so mad at me.

1

u/mobilekungfu 2h ago

The Victorian Farm bit hit a little close to home.

1

u/JazzlikeDiamond558 1h ago

TIL: "WTF the bajesus out of me" 🤣

1

u/Beautiful-Bet-5 58m ago

Have unread a lot of fiction in life, u are so descriptive ✨🌻

•

u/lampsslater77 27m ago

Snoring/farting dog + husband

•

u/Pitiful-North-2781 19m ago

I guarantee those guys are there because they’re afraid of their girlfriends cheating abroad.

•

u/BootCampPTSD 0m ago

And I appreciate guys like you for that. I got to sleep with so many wives/girlfriends at tourist locations when I was stationed in Europe. They always seem like the kind that won't cheat too.

Because when a normal, not staged loving relationship says their going on an all guys/girls trip, it's specifically for that reason. Otherwise they'd go together on a normal trip. So a surprise to show up would realistically be " wait, why are you here?"

10

u/kitkatrat 4h ago

Kind of reminded me of the movie Midsommar.

4

u/Event-Forsaken 4h ago

It's true love, sir.

3

u/Refun712 4h ago

Oh oh….are you real?

77

u/brdesignguy 4h ago

"who the fuck is watching the kids..."

52

u/yonkerbonk 4h ago

Surprise! points behind him

23

u/vmachiel 3h ago

Better put that drink down because we’re going to a theme park tomorrow at 8!

10

u/Consistent-Tap-4255 4h ago

And that’s when you got thrown off the cruise ship.

4

u/Inked_Chick 2h ago

Nightmare

5

u/DeFiBandit 3h ago

“Who the fuck is holding me from behind and kissing the top of my head?”

2

u/spore 3h ago

"... I need to make a phone call"

28

u/Clericnl 3h ago

Haha I thought exactly this and it was the most upvoted comment.
This is not romantic… it feels controlling.
If your partner is on a trip with ONLY friends, take the hint.

3

u/ciao_fiv 1h ago

one of them was a surprise visit from a long distance partner. i thought that one was cute

70

u/RuggleyChicken 5h ago

Exactly my thought

19

u/UpperApe 4h ago

Not to mention how conceited and selfish it is.

Imagine if a woman did that to a man on a boys' trip. And how a lot of the incels who post this stuff would react.

18

u/FluteGunner 4h ago

Happened to a mate of mine when we were on a boozy lads holiday after finishing school. We were all 18, off to uni and work and were having one final long piss up together in Greece (we are from the UK).

Third day we were there, out at a bar in the evening and in walks his girlfriend and one of her friends lol

I didn't hear what was said but from what I remember, they did not last long after that.

1

u/BannedSvenhoek86 1h ago

I genuinely could not think of a bigger buzz kill for a trip lmao. Oh sweet, now one of our girlfriends is here and tagging along. Fantastic.

The only way that's acceptable is if she literally came just for a night and then fucked off to do something else. That would probably be pretty cool, your girl flies out just to bang it out for the night on a layover to her trip.

83

u/thenamziel 4h ago

Women LOVE being grabbed in public.

23

u/SpongeJake 2h ago

A few of them did. One clearly did and then was shocked when she saw it was her bf. Little sus.

19

u/Overtilted 2h ago

or, hear me out, it's staged.

9

u/absolute_imperial 2h ago

Yeah I picked up on that too. The look on her face at 0:37 says it all.

0

u/duke78 1h ago

She probably it was somebody joking around. Most people I know would tolerate it or play along for a few seconds until they knew what's going on. Explain loading on strangers is rarely the smart reaction.

5

u/pannedcakes 1h ago

If it’s a girls trip or birthday weekend they probably assumed it was someone they knew and not a rando.

Others are probably just smiling out of fear and awkwardness because it is often unsafe to reject men especially ones with zero regard for personal space.

Kinda weird to jump to conclusions that something sus is happening and that women can’t be trusted. Reddit not beating the incel allegations.

3

u/SpongeJake 1h ago

Thanks for providing some necessary nuance. The incel comment was a little over the top but otherwise I agree with the balance you brought.

1

u/openmind21 1h ago

Two of them did this. Definitely sus

6

u/GrandmaSassifrass 4h ago

The pres has instructions on this

2

u/Bright-Character9124 4h ago

Sarcasm, sarcasm please!!

14

u/the-other-marvin 3h ago

Let me give everyone watching this a piece of advice from personal experience: If your wife/girlfriend goes on a girl's trip and you show up and surprise her, she may not be happy to see you.

3

u/Mekito_Fox 2h ago

I don't even like my husband surprising me at work (but I'm also an introvert)

•

u/Sudden-Goose-6956 4m ago

Tbh reading all this comments makes me never want to marry lol sounds like people just hate each other when they get married

14

u/Matt6453 4h ago

Yep, the only way she'd react like some of the women here is if she thought I'd died in an earthquake or something.

66

u/MichoRizo7698 4h ago

Thing is they are smiling during the initial touch then are shocked by who the person is. Who did you think it initially was that you allowed to be touched and smiling? Certainly not him!

11

u/em-em-cee 3h ago

Someone comes up that close behind me unexpectedly and they're getting an elbow to whatever's in range.

Which my husband knows, so he'd never surprise me from that close.

1

u/-sensory_overlord- 2h ago

same! my fight reaction is strong, mine knows not to startle me like that as well

2

u/jimmycarr1 1h ago

I remember early in my (M) relationship with my ex (F) when I walked into her house because the door was unlocked and she was expecting me, but she had music playing and wasn't aware until I came in the room. My god the screams...

1

u/-sensory_overlord- 40m ago

that would be my partner, he’s the one that actually shrieks when he gets startle lol

65

u/EireaKaze 3h ago

A lot of women who are grabbed frequently have an instinctual react to fawn in order to keep themselves safe. Placate don't escalate because he's probably bigger and stronger than you so escalation is more likely to get you hurt. Plus it can buy time to find an escape route.

Those initial reactions aren't happy/excited smiles, they're generally signs of discomfort and a form of fawning. They do it in hopes of diffusing the situation by making the person think they're happy and not trying to figure out how to gtfo.

0

u/[deleted] 2h ago

[deleted]

6

u/frycrunch96 2h ago

that user is just explaining why those women might be smiling

21

u/skepticalbob 3h ago

Had the same exact thought. She leaned into the embrace thinking it was someone else.

8

u/TGin-the-goldy 3h ago

Because they’re acting in the first place

5

u/Odd-Contribution-999 3h ago

For real, came here to say this! Because if that was me id be moving so fast like who and why tf are you touching me... most seemed way too comfortable with it before they realised who it was... so who were they expecting? Wild. I'd start a whole ass argument over that 😅

4

u/something-gimmicky 3h ago

That was my take as well.

23

u/g_cheeks 4h ago

Yeah cause you’re real and these influencers are filming for clout

5

u/kimmykim328 2h ago

These definitely aren’t wives cause if we’re going without you you need that break lol

3

u/Own_Bison6467 4h ago

Just here to ask where you left my clean clothes. And are you banging other guys. But mostly clothes.

3

u/operath0r 3h ago

The Waffle House one was cute, the other ones were a bit creepy.

3

u/Jealous_Difference44 3h ago

My friend did just that to propose to her and brought a ton of us along in secret. Her girls trip was ruined and she was kinda pissed but stoked we all came and said yes. They lasted 4 years

3

u/Reload86 1h ago

Yeah these videos must be couples that are still early in the relationship and are likely not able to be around each other daily. My ex was always super happy to see me when we were dating long distance for two years. After that it was significantly harder to get this kind of reaction out of her without doing something extraordinary.

4

u/The-Experiments 4h ago

LMAOO everyone's vibes ruined. Your vibes cause you could be chilling at home smoking weed, but now you're a third wheel. Her mood because she wanted to chill in Amsterdam and smoke some weed, but now her guard is up.

5

u/Bizzareslantpass 4h ago

My first thoughts, exactly

2

u/hexineffex 4h ago

Precisely.

2

u/aliveandkicking2020 3h ago

Omg. I was thinking exactly the same thing when I saw it.

2

u/pseudonymnkim 3h ago

Lmao I'm laughing so hard at "ugh"

2

u/lampsslater77 3h ago

Oh yeah it'd be a total sigh or grunt and "i love you so much but enjoy your solo vacation while you're here" haha

2

u/bikeguideraz 2h ago

None of these said anything about girls trip, they all said long distance relationships or studying abroad.

1

u/lampsslater77 2h ago

"Im on a birthday trip in another country" makes me assume girls trip

2

u/bikeguideraz 2h ago

Yea can't lie missed the text on that one. I was too busy wondering why she embraced a random hug and then was surprised when it was her boyfriend.

2

u/FirstDukeofAnkh 2h ago

My wife would kill me.

We all need time away from our partners so I’m not about to crash her holiday.

2

u/stoutymcstoutface 2h ago

This absolutely

2

u/b1ack1323 2h ago

Your wife must not have codependency issues, mine would be ecstatic and gets very stressed out when traveling without me.

1

u/lampsslater77 2h ago

We certainly enjoy our time apart as much as we enjoy our time together. It's a great balance.

2

u/CitizenHuman 1h ago

"You spent how much just to fly and see me? I'll be home in 4 fucking days"

2

u/yrfrndnico 1h ago

Yeah... this is like trust-red-flag

2

u/uwill1der 51m ago

if youre talking about the couple at :33-:43, I know that guy and he's just a clout chaser. He bounces around different reality show baddies to increase his brand awareness. Went from Vanderpump Rules to Below Deck to Selling sunset/OC

2

u/lampsslater77 48m ago

That checks out, this def screams "look at me on social media"

2

u/AllNightPony 35m ago

That's the one that stood out most to me, cuz she seemed totally fine that some random man was hugging her. She was really enjoying it prior to realizing who it was.

1

u/jaguaraugaj 4h ago

Waiting for the HOLD-UP moment where they think it’s a different dude

1

u/milkymonkey8 4h ago

...And meet my step-brother!

1

u/goldiegoldthorpe 4h ago

That woman was into it before she even knew who it was. She is very much thinking ugh wtf are you doing here but not in the way you said it

1

u/Iamnotabotiswearonit 3h ago

She looked happier when she didn't know it was her husband

1

u/dallywolf 3h ago

Also explains why it was only MEN who were surprising their gf's in this clip.

1

u/DudeFrom816 3h ago

That chick was expecting a dude, just not that one...

1

u/RAGEINYOUTH 3h ago

The thing that really kills me is one of these girls in the video was hugging back when her bf hugged her from behind and THEN she realized it was her boyfriend lmao it really gets me to think about what shes like behind her mans back

1

u/swadezy 3h ago

True boomer love right there

1

u/micromoses 2h ago

You have to wait long enough for her to miss you.

1

u/lampsslater77 2h ago

Cya in a month babe 🫡

1

u/maverick4002 2h ago

This was my first thought. She was the only one that didnt look genuinely excited

•

u/ganjaccount 24m ago

Well yeah. Her reaction was super happy to be grabbed like that long before she realized it was her husband. He was not who she thought was grabbing her like that.

•

u/bullitt-rider 9m ago

And I wouldn't want to go! Let her live

•

u/Ooze76 2m ago

Yup. It’s her time, why would someone just drop unannounced? it’s baffling.

0

u/adoradear 1h ago

Some of these are long distance relationships and not women’s trip (none of the women in this video are young enough to be girls).

1

u/lampsslater77 1h ago

Mate, I'm almost 40 and def still call them boys trips for myself too. It's fine.

0

u/jonasu25 1h ago

Then you need to become your wife’s best friend. I know my wife would react just like every one of these girls. But I also know my wife would rather go on a trip with me instead about her “girlfriends“.

Marrying your best friend is the best thing you could do

0

u/lampsslater77 49m ago

Maybe you need to realize that all relationships are different and we are indeed best friends and perfectly happy. But that doesnt mean we need to be together 100% of the time and cant enjoy time away from each other with other friends. But thanks for the advice bud.

2

u/jonasu25 41m ago

I agree and but we do spend time apart. Just prefer to hang out with each other than with our friends. Again, I can only talk about our relationship because I don’t know you from Jack, but based off the comments I can see you are who you are, So right back at you pal
