I have been watching the Magic since the first season in 89. I had faith in shaq and penny and friends, but shaq left too early then penny got hurt. That downfall was definately not nick's fault ... they were up 20. They were just young (and yes i understand they lowballed shaq). We had an opportunity with TMac and Grant i would take everytime. That's a championship waiting to happen without the GH injury, even forgetting about the Tim opportunity. Then dwight and company - oh for the layup that should have gone.
This team has me more excited then any since shaq and penny. They are still young, still hungrey, and none of the major players have hit their prime.
There have been injuruies the last last couple of years that derailed the m to an extent. But still plus 500 missing some of their best players. But no career altering injuries.
The east on paper got stronger, but did they? I do not believe in philly (too many egos), the the celtics got worse, miami ... toranto - not a believer. Same with cavs and detroit.
Nicks. Well i think we were kicking the shit out of them the 1st part of last season till they took out franz.
Too much recency bias in this sub. We are in good shape. I dont think franz or paulo are in the always injured category.
Oh and we need a point guard? Maybe. But it would be hard for me to take suggs out of the starting lineup. Too many positive intangibles. And still young and learning.
I do miss terry catlidge, for nostalgia sake.

“We would rather be too high, too wide, too far apart, too spaced.”
I know we didn’t change the roster much and maybe it doesn’t work out. I’m interested to see what we look like though with Sweeney, cause this philosophy (if we actually embody it) couldn’t be much further from what we were under Mosely.

This is the shit or get off the pot season for Paolo Banchero.”
That’s Sam Vecenie’s take on the Orlando Magic star. Vecenie added that things go one of two ways from here.
“He can go become the All NBA player or he can become Julius Randle.”

Is that Coach Sweeney is a no bullshit guy that’s going to demand excellence from every player. I heard him being described as “militant” and “very direct” from players which is what this team needs. Vooch said Sweeney let each player know what their role will be heading into the season. It’s honestly a breath of fresh air from Mosley’s style in the past where there was less accountability and more blaming. This season is going to be interesting to see how they respond to a completely different coaching style.

Hey folks. Looking to buy tickets for the March 2nd Lakers game and it’ll be my first game at Kia. Any advice on when/where I should purchase tickets and where I should park? Thanks. 🙏
Edit: Got tickets in Section 117. We should be good as long as there aren’t a lot of corner 3’s from the opposite side of the court 😏
