Actually, I have a different take. The less his insane ramblings are out there the less people hear him. It might be a net positive for him.
Like that time after the first debate when Biden was clearly struggling with dementia and he shut up for almost 2 weeks. Smartest thing he could have done. Stay out of the news.

If I were in CNN's shoes, I'd remove audio from every clip of Trump I'd air and replace it with a Mariachi band playing la cucaracha, regardless of what the topic is. Just give the headline and then play the clip with the song.
This makes some sort of sense to me. I believe all the Republicans hate Trump's guts, and always have. The just kiss his ass because he's popular with their base. They've been waiting for him to fall out of favor for years.
