I let my hair grow and cut it every few months (versus weekly in service, that was absurd), but I still get a military-ish style cut when I do. A fade, short on top, I just like the low maintenance.
I’ve had hair past my shoulders before, and didn’t mind it, but it’s more effort than I want to put in now.

And now we're at the point where they're cutting 20% of officers out after already getting rid of a bunch of upper staff. I wasn't sure what he would say because he never talks about anything remotely political but he said something like "If they're doing their job why would I care? We're all held to the same standards and if they can meet the standards then why would we not want them?"

- ‘win’ the Cold War and cause the USSR to go bankrupt and break up into less menacing components.
- overwhelmingly win conflicts in Grenada, Panama, Kuwait, Iraq
- create a big enough threat to curtail aggression from North Korea, China, Russia, and other unfriendly nations
- apparently maintain a level of professionalism to allow for everybody fit to join, be promoted in, and remain in the forces successfully.
- weed out internal issues as they arose with a degree of transparency and fairness. Not always perfectly, but they seemed to get to a right place in the end.
- safeguard the welfare of the United States and all those who call it home.
Since the current group of pedofiles, crooks, and couch-fuckers came into power, everything that the US Armed Forces stood for and had accomplished has gone to hell. All of the checks and balances seem to be willfully discarded with malice. What is happening now is not only sad and disappointing, it is about as scary as anything that could be.
I am absolutely fearful of what the Army will do if ordered to by this NCA. Nothing seems to be off the table, and Oaths seem to be meaningless.
