Breaking News: Attractive people are good for advertising and marketing. This is such a new concept and in no way goes back to when we literally invented advertising and marketing.
I don't get society and censorship. Movies have gotten increasingly strict with their rating system. TV is getting more lenient with swearing and amount of skin. Commercials and ads can be like this. If you're a celebrity at some premier you can pretty much wear whatever you want showing as much as you want. Youtube has become a blurred and bleeped nightmare.
These Sidney Sweeney ads are supposed to come off as vaguely anti woke but they mostly feel like some ad agencies incredibly condescending view of both men and their own profession
More clearly: it feels like a cynical ad executive assuming putting Sydney Sweeney half naked in our faces is a bold statement enough to help sell their products. In this instance it’s for a lingerie (her lingerie company iirc) company, whatever. But for the American Eagle or that sports gambling ad it feels stupid and cynical. My judgement is less about the politics (tho there’s a little of that) and more of like…an artistic judgment. They come off less like actual advertisements and more like a dumb college guys idea of what an ad is
Seems like the advertisements are working to sell products. That makes them relevant and effective, regardless of your feelings, judgments, and political leanings.

People decided that they are anti woke for drama. Even the genes/jeans ads were about being hot not race. Posing with men's football gear for a (shitty) company did not demean women's sports. I'm sure that she is a bit of a conservative twit, but she isn't MAGA in public so far.
I think the ‘anti wokeness’ imo isn’t about the jeans thing but the like, Man Show level sexual humor/scantily clad stuff. I’m struggling to remember any woke era marketing that was this transparent and low brow about, for lack of a better term, the male gaze.
Oh sure and I don’t think that element was on purpose and I think the reaction and the reaction to the reaction was overblown and didn’t comport with reality. I meant more of the sexual angle we see with a great chunk of campaigns that feature her basically being: “look at how hot Sidney Sweeney is, now go sports gamble you dumpy mouth breather”.
In this instance it might make sense, given it’s a lingerie company. But there’s a reason most of the places you’d wanna buy shit from dont run ads like that gambling company I can’t remember the name of because I was ogling the woman in the ad.
And her campaign is EVERYWHERE, especially on Reddit with these "omg look at Sidney Sweeney". Its all ads. We are seeing her because someone wants us to see her and its disgusting
I don’t think it’s disgusting per se, but I did say somewhere else in this thread that they’re better advertisements for her hotness than the products and this definitely makes me feel correct
Because it's not actually about the children. It's about their own hatred and bigotry. And they justify it by pretending that it's their sacred book is telling them to hate.
Actually really good point, if you dislike "woke" ads and movements, then by default this should heavily offend you as well - if we are being consistent.

I don't get why the advertisers don't understand that after the post nut clarity hits, people won't actually won't buy their products. They should instead show her in nunwear, and promise free saucy videos along with the purchase
I saw what OP was really outraged about … if you look closely you can see a same sex couple holding hands. How dare they try to stuff their lifestyle down our throats.
To the people downvoting me, you're clearly not understanding my sarcasm. Republicans say pride flags are bad and we shouldn't expose our children to that indoctrination. But they're ok with our kids seeing effectively-naked women on 10 story tall billboards in public.

The lgbt population percentage isn't even that high, sitting around 10% of the US population. Granted that is going based on those who have put down that they are lgbt on paper and that there probably is a lot more than anyone realizes. That all being said our lgbt is a lot louder than most other places where the lgbt are free from government prosecution.
Why does it matter though? Like who really cares about what other people do sexualy? So Jim Bob over there has to shoot a bottle rocket from his dick with a car battery clamped to his nipples and Sharon eating his ass while she's getting fucked from behind by Jim Bob's cousin. How the fuck does that effect you?
