miscellaneous A piece of fan material so popular people think it's from the original source material
DMC V: Vergils Chair Edition - An edit of a DMC V cutscene replaced the main antagonist fucked up evil tentacle chair with a regular cheap lawn chair. Many people thought this was just what the actual cutscene was (and still do)
Dragonball: Trunks is a fucking dumbass - An edit of a dragon ball scene where the character Trunks tries to throw his sword in the air and have it land in his scabbard. In the original show, this succeeds. The more widely known edit makes him completely fuck it up (like a dumbass)
Fake Portal 2 Endings - Ok I don't know if anyone else experienced this but it was a really popular thing when the game first came out to make fake versions of it's ending or alternate endings to it that I saw as a kid and thought were totally real, having only seen it on YouTube. Like I thought that there actually was an alternate ending where the view of the wheat field was revealed to just be a painted wall and it falls away to reveal you're still in the lab
MICHAEL DON'T LEAVE ME HERE MICHAEL MICHAAAAAAEL MICHAEL - A sound bite from a FNAF fan analog horror series on YouTube, where the main antagonist screams for help as he's burning to death. Many people believed this to be a sound bite from the games themselves.

Obviously losing a limb is traumatic and serious but other than that he surprisingly doesn't look too roughed up. His other three limbs are fine and the shoulder bandaging is kinda light by comparison.

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad5805 Aug 23 '26
That is actually just what happens, pickles usual diet consisted of trex before he is then preserved (pickled) in a bunch of salt mid trex fight. He is then woken up when a scientist that found him decided to cook the trex meet. Later the us military straight up goes, “what the fuck do we do with him” then the main group of characters (including yujiro) break into said military base to fight pickle. After that event they send pickle off to Japan where the aforementioned event happened of retsu (the guy without the leg) then fights pickle and loses. Where his leg is then eaten out of respect (pickle ate the trex out of respect too for it being an honorable fight or some shit) then people intervene before pickle eats all of retsu (genuinely I am not fucking with you this all happens)

Pickle, a caveman who was found frozen and revived, one that even scientists in-universe state that logically he shouldn't exist because it goes against human evolution (he lived at the same time as dinosaurs, long before the Homo Sapiens came to be). Since he comes from a dog eats dog world, he fights to the death and to eat his enemy, which is why he ate the guy's leg after defeating him.
Also, he doesn't know consent, so he raped a female journalist on live TV when she tried to interview him-

It makes the fact that Vegeta would rather instantly retreat in battle than lose the ability to have baths with Bulma even funnier.
He won’t hold her hand in public. But when she tells everyone the baths are on the line, he reacts like she told him she’s getting a divorce.

A lot of what people think is Biblical canon concerning hell came from Dante's Inferno. Its sequels also inspired common ideas on Biblical canon, but most ideas of hell come from that book that really isn't canon to the source material.

On the topic: biblically accurate angels.
While technically they are real that's not a "biblically accurate angel" that's just a Seraphim, the highest ranking angel.
Only them, Cherubim, and Thrones look "biblically accurate". The other six are relatively humanoid.

Like Paradise Lost solidifying speculations about Satan, Lucifer, and the Devil being the same being that’s opposed to God and was the serpent in the Garden of Eden.
None of that is in the Bible, and what’s in there mostly refutes those ideas more than supporting them.

If you go strictly by Biblical sources, it's not even clear that Lucifer and Satan are the same entity. They're used in wildly different contexts, and some of the Old Testament mentions are clearly criticizing political figures of the time.
→ More replies (7)115
u/Natural_Success_9762 Aug 23 '26
if you go strictly by Biblical sources, Lucifer is mentioned once and isn't even a name, it literally just means "shining one" and was used in reference to some completely separate tosser in a poetic sense and nothing to do with Satan

u/Doomhammer24 Aug 23 '26
What you gotta understand is this mod came out So Early in minecrafts history and wasnt spread around as being a mod that people just believed it was a new hidden part of the game
Like when the yogscast did their series and introduced the israphel storyline and terrorvale etc there were people asking how to find it in game to start the story- because everything in minecraft was such an unknown quantity in those days, to people it just made more sense for it to be the games story finally being discovered instead of just youtubers doing their own thing
Same goes for the aether- the nether was added so why not some other dimension? Skys the limit it seemed. Modding was a concept most gamers playing minecraft didnt wrap their heads around yet, Especially since minecraft trended with very young audiences

The actual show basically doesn't even exist as a fan community separate from the Youtube parody series. At this point having discussions about the source material is often challenging because so many people are influenced by the parodies.

I will say i'm still an avid fan of both original anime (Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate, with a special love of the former with how it focused a little more on "Police Girl" Seras' story and her coming to terms with the loss of her humanity), but after discovering the abridged series, it got bumped to one of my favorite series of all time. We only know that he destroyed Shrade(a single castle), has an aura of fear that causes all life to run away, and melts hunters in a pin attack.
According to fans, he's as intellient as humans, can control the moon, is the most powerful monster ever, is an actual god, can destroy the world, destroyed the entire ancient kingdom, takes over anyone who wears his armour(which eventually grows into a new Fatalis) and several other stupid ass things

Tamriel Rebuilt. A fan mod for Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind that seeks to flesh out all of Morrowind rather than just Vvardenfell in the main game. While it uses in game sources for things like place names and layouts and stuff, nothing in it is canon since Bethesda could rewrite it or have a different vision. Yet when people think of Morrowind, they think of TRs version.
Its warranted though, absolutely incredible mod.

The lawn chair mod reached a level of infamy that people reference as easter eggs in their own games.
Like wuthering wave put the chair in the game. I believe Honkai Starrail recreated the cutscene with that chair in their own game. Also other sword fighters are using their own lawn chair. Kinda a big deal in those gacha games it seems.
Also the Netflix anime put that chair in the show at some point during season 2.
If we ever get a DMC6, you can expect to see that chair become canon.
