Lore Fixing them was actually a lot easier than expected

Majin Buu (Dragon Ball Z) Buu before was on a killing rampage, but he’s basically a man child who was manipulated by Babidi, Buu only took orders from him because he didn’t know any better. Once Goku told him he didn’t have to do what Babidi says, he kills Babidi.

When he meets Mr. Satan, he somehow became friends with him and Mr. Satan simply asked him to stop being evil and killing people, and surprisingly it worked

Second Dimension Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb) He is an alternate version of Doof where he actually is evil and successfully took over the Tri-state area, turning it into a dictatorship. But the reason he became evil was because he lost his toy train as a child (yes that is the real reason, normal Doof points out how petty it is).

So at the end of the movie, Doof was finally able to make it to his apartment and he found the same toy train and gave it to second dimension Doofenshmirtz, which proceeded to make him happy and call off all the robots and destruction and he stops being evil. He still does get arrested though

The Simpsons - "Treehouse of Horror III" - Here's your problem...

The same thing happened in backyardigans

It is a good gag. It pops up in an episode of "Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse" too with a "set to evil" closet.

Ramlethal Valentine (Guilty Gear)

She’s an artificial being with world domination hardcoded into her, but all it took was Sin showing her the good things about humanity, particularly burgers and a puppy. Along with Bedman showing her the value of uniqueness to turn her good

u/Unexpected_Sage 4h ago

Didn't Bedman kill the puppy, or threaten to?

He did. And reconstituted the puppy.

Not sure as I have yet to read Hellboy and Idk if he has done anything wrong before this but the Air Force wanted the kid to try and eat pancakes, once he did...everyone in hell was in despair because the boy found something in the mortal realm that he likes, hence, he will never serve hell.

Hellboy was literally meant to be the harbinger of the apocalypse. But being raised by good people and learning the good of the human world turned him into humanity's staunchest defender

Discord(My Little Pony): An evil chaos god who happily tormented the entire nation. And all it took was a single friend being disappointed in him for him to get reformed.

Imagine if Picard had just tried that with Q instead?

7

u/Dangerous_Tangelo207 3h ago

He would rather die

5

u/Astroturf420 2h ago

I love that the “he” in that sentence could be referring to “Picard” or “Q,” and it would still make sense.

u/HapHazardly6 4h ago

He then proceeded to spend his reformed days passively tormenting equestria rather than actively

Darth Vader seeing Luke getting tortured with Palpatine’s force lightning and hearing Luke screaming for help, comes to mind. If only something like that happened a lot sooner then Anakin hopefully would have never turned to the dark side of the force.

People always argue about it, but it seems to me like he took the first chance he was given

The viltrumites from invincible.
Spoiler for the comics

The viltrumites a group of conquering super nazis have blended in within earth people so they can repopulate their dying race so they can takeover the universe.turn out they being on earth chill them out and they like their lives on earth much to Thragg utter disgust.

The crazy thing is that the time span has to be within a couple months to a year of which they chill out compared to Nolan 20 years.

The way I see it, The Viltrumites being forced to assimilate to Earth culture (and stay under the radar as much as possible) made them realize everything they were missing on Viltrum where they literally could not let up for a single second lest they be seen as weak.

Without that pressure, they actually got to enjoy life for its fruits. It's not so much that Earth's different, it's that Viltrumites forgot how to actually live rather than merely survive. On Viltrum, they couldn't even have carefree relationships, they were basically breeding slaves to one another. On Earth, they can eat actual food, take up hobbies, and have relationships without the overt judgement of other Viltrumites.

It's basically the equivalent of taking somebody who's been standing at attention for days and offering them a seat. The relief must have been intense, which is why it hit them like cocaine.

The irony is that the biggest contribution to the viltrumites chilling out,is Thragg orders to lay low and mingle with earth people.
in a weird way it wasn’t mark or Nolan that defeated the viltrumites it was thragg choices that led to them changing.
On a side note it really highlights how shitty of a leader Thragg is.he just sucked at leadership.

In vietnam we could float in the "ice cream barge" and have ice cream socials. The military can currently put a burgerking up anywhere in a day. It's great for morale, but helping to keep ours the best and making sure the vietkong knew about it to make their worse.

Basically they experience real connections for the first time with no threat of being murdered, and being able to let their guards down is intoxicating

Nolan was their most loyal soldier. Literally any other Viltrumite would have turned the second they got some booze and poon.

Every time I see clips/quotes from this show, I am just more enamored. I'm a 39 year old man, but I think I need to sit down and actually watch this show.

It’s definitely a kids show, but the humor is so top notch, it’s legit the funniest cartoon i’ve ever watched. I used to watch it as a kid and going back I actually understand the jokes and it’s hilarious

The show uses a simple A and B plot structure.

The A plot (Phineas and Ferb building some absurd thing) is more kid oriented humor

The B plot (Dr Doof and Perry fighting over a doomsday device) is more "everyone" humor

Yeah we missed it by a few years, when I was the right age Disney didn't have all that much, just like ducktails and gargoyles.

Enemy soldiers (Metal Gear games Portable Ops, Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain)

So, as a base management minigame in those games, you can just.... Kidnap every soldier you encounter, so long as they are still alive, and add it to your staff. Lots of interesting mechanics, like spcial unique soldiers, looking for specific traits, etc.

"But why would an enemy soldier join your cause" you ask. Well, canonically.... Its just charisma. Big Boss is a legendary soldier, so like 80% of enemies just accept the offer to work with him right away. Even if you just summary executed his best friend 5 minutes ago and you dip him in molotov grenades before capture.

The most fanatic ones do not join right away, but a week in the rig with torture master Ocelot convinces them. Which is like 20 irl minutes of playing. And somehow those become loyal too, they never uprise, so maybe Ocelot does something else besides torture....

Ocelot isn't there for msf, but the soldiers you are kidnapping in peacewalker are US soldiers who all know who big boss is. Ocelot joins for mgsV and the Russians are scared to death of him already.

u/Facosa99 1h ago

Arent some of Peace Walker enemies russian because of Zadornov? Tho after Snake Eater, BB must be legendary in Russia as well. Maybe no to the public, buut for special forces at least

u/Fish0203 2h ago

Some one with better dbz lore knowledge pls help. But I think Buu was originally like super evil but an old supreme kai allowed himself to be absorbed which made fat buu and turned him more morally nuetral

Mr. Game and Watch (Subspace Emissary)

According to lore the reason why he even sides with Tabuu to begin with was because he completely lakes any understanding of good and evil, so when he is defeated he is easily recruited by the heroes by Peach giving him her parasol

Surprisingly enough, Sandor Clegane (The Hound) from ASOIAF.

Sandor was a rough and tumble "attack dog" for the Cleganes, and one of the most vicious fighters in the series. He's initially considered one of the worst men in the series, until we realize that he's the way he is because his brother (The walking war crime himself, the Mountain) inflicted so many cruelties on him and others, but was outright rewarded for it.

In Book 3, he abandons the Lannisters at Blackwater and kidnaps a lone Arya for ransom. We start seeing his idealistic side after getting hints of it from Sansa's POV, but he's still a vicious attack dog who values hard pragmatism above all else. After an infection renders him close to death, Arya abandons him to his fate.

In Book 4, Brienne goes to a monastery at the Quiet Isle, where the lead monk (himself a former soldier and now a pensive and thoughtful man) tells her that the Hound died in his arms. Curiously, she also notices a massive gravedigger (who is kept cloaked) in service to the monastery. Many fans think this is actually Sandor, who was rescued by the monks and now lives in thoughtful solitude, digging graves in penance for his own numerous crimes. The Hound, the vicious soldier, may have died, but Sandor has found new lease trying to be the peaceful man he once dismissed as a fantasy.
