Could you imagine landing “on” a piece of rebar?

u/WhatImKnownAs 8d ago
That's why he jumped on the bricks. Pro safety tip for demolishers here! - Also, don't stand on the thing you're demolishing.

Spent 6 hours yesterday in a class for ladder safety and I was like how the hell are they going to make this last 6 hours, and the first hour talked about osha and regulatory numbers, didn't even get to ladders until the second hour

Good thing those bricks could break his fall!

u/Multitrak 8d ago

u/truthfullyidgaf 8d ago
It was at this time, that he knew he fucked up.
Seriously. Could jumped away and of been fine. Could of even thrown some more bricks on the other side to cushion his fall.

u/MarioCraft1997 8d ago
Sorry for being the grammar police, but Could've***

He tried to jump onto the adjacent roof where the cameraman was standing, but the wall he jumped from was collapsing in the opposite direction so he couldn't get sufficient forward traction. If he'd jumped in any other direction he would've risked being crushed to death under collapsing walls. He made the right decision.
16
u/Beautiful-Musk-Ox 8d ago
i thought the roof would hit the wall he was standing on and knock it over, he might've thought the same thing and didn't want ot be crushed under it

u/truthfullyidgaf 8d ago
Yea. Those bricks were on the inside wall. He tried to look cool imo. Hence the video.

It does in fact get knocked over. I think he jumps when it shifts just off camera

Why are background sounds from a Moscow metro station lol
15
u/Short-Afternoon-9318 8d ago
It's probably not metro, but a suburban surface train station, it sounds correctly distorted, and the sounds that are used are similar. People are also speaking Russian. I have no idea why.

No way he’s brushing debris off himself and walking off like he didn’t just break his fall using the wall as a blanket

u/pbmadman 8d ago
So the house came down easier than expected and he walked away? More like r/everythinggoesright

The fact that so many countries don't wear actual shoes let alone steel toe boots. Don't even ask about a hard hat🤦🏾♂️

When you realise that there are parts of world with real poverty. This looks like rural India possibly where wages can be so low that you probably have to choose between eating and buying a pair of safety shoes. Just that alone would probably be a months wages for them. People are exploited real bad.

u/bravemoney72 8d ago
Working labor my whole adult life and having been to several areas of Brazil I know this and continually marvel at how little life is considered. However it wasn't that long ago here and now depending on where you work. Exploitation is NOT an impoverished countries exclusive territory believe me. There are tons of under the table disgraces going on right here in the US to everyday American citizens.

Exactly! He did not even have to climb down.... wait, did he loose his shoes?
Isn't there a "And they walked away...." sub?

Downside broken ankle, feet and toes. On the upside, he finished his assignment faster than expected. Early to hospital.

He had a proper respectable escape plan. Just one minor hick up at the end or he had that jump. 😳
