WCGW while riding a dirtbike on road

u/WTFeedback1978 8d ago
No helmet needed as there was not much to protect….

u/bigtime_porgrammer 8d ago
I think his inner monologue sounded just like the dirt bike - "reeeeeeeeeeee!"

u/pocket-rain 7d ago
He thought he was a tough cop, but it all backfired. Of course, I'm curious why he even rode a motorcycle in the first place.

So did he get a ticket for reckless driving?

u/OGREtheTroll 8d ago
no, but they arrested the other driver for assault on an officer....

Bad idea to try to ride a motorbike you just found/confiscated
122
u/Daatsit 8d ago
..and probably confiscated because the rider was riding on the street, just like him
28
u/Femcel_Bambi 8d ago
Why would you even drive a vehicle you've confiscated? Like, shouldn't they be using tow trucks or something?

u/koro90 8d ago
Yeah, this cop had absolutely no business riding this. Hope he had to pay for the damages out of his own pocket and I hope the fall knocked some sense into him.

u/ComradeJohnS 8d ago
he definitely only rode a bicycle before this. this is what would happen to me. but I am smart enough to say no and not do it (outside of video games lol)

u/Expensive-Border-869 7d ago
Tbf you'd probably be okay on a closed course. So would tbis guy its the traffic that causes problems if you understand the basic fundamentals (if you've ridden a bike you do) i wouldn't suggest trying anything fancy but I mean its simple enough

if you understand the basic fundamentals
Problem is he clearly didn't, dude couldn't handle the 2 stroke powerband, can't blame traffic tbh.
21
u/uraniumsalad 8d ago
This is a 2 stroke motocross bike as well, which are notorious for having hard hitting power bands. They go from feeling relatively tame at lower engine speeds beforing winding up quick and putting down a ton of power. You can hear the power band "hit" just before he starts to wheelie and loop out.
Not beginner friendly. Especially if you're a cocky police officer with no gear on.

u/ccarr313 8d ago
His feet weren't even in position.
He didn't know to ride any motorcycle.
Edit - I don't even think it was solely the throttle. If you look closely, he puts weight on a leg, and his leg becomes the pivot of the turn. The front wheel becomes irrelevant.

Riding without a helmet, riding through a red light, reckless driving, destruction of property... am I missing anything here?

u/crimson_anemone 8d ago
Yes, that bike also isn't street legal. But, I guess because he was having fun... nothing matters. Different rules apparently. 😐

Yes. He looks like he didn't intend to do any of that.
I mean, he's still liable for damages, but he looks like someone who wanted to try sitting on it and then panicked.

The bike isn't the issue... The problem in this video seem to be between the bike's seat and its steering handle

Dirt bike on the road is perfectly rideable. What isn’t, is not knowing how to ride a bike.

u/Imaginary-Contest887 8d ago
In my country you can normally ride dirt bike on road as long as it is homologated according to our laws and has registration. Never heard anyone had problem with it, but most people of course don't ride it on road as it's pointless and expensive on tires to use dirt bike on roads

This was my thought lol. Riding a bike on the road isn't a problem (aside from legality, different issue). Dirt bike is perfectly capable of driving on that road lol. Certified skill issue.

I’ve never driven a motorcycle. Why is a dirt bike on the road a problem? Super curious

Nothing in particular, other than that it's very light and has lots of power in first gear. If you're not careful it's going to take off with or without you, which is what happened here.

It's illegal if it has no lights, mirrors, turn signals, or registration. Some of them do, and those are road legal.

When I was 20, I looked in to a dirt bike. I asked about the Honda CR250 because it was on display. The sales guy asked me my experience to which I replied, I used to ride an 80cc. He then said that I would be spending way too much money to make a loud noise and immediately flip over backwards. This cop should have been there to here that advice.

u/_fidel_castro_ 8d ago
That's a great bike

u/JustGottaKeepTrying 8d ago
Absolutely but way beyond my skill level. I would have died in short order.

Yeah you're actually right the Honda 250 cr is quite temperamental 2 stroke. I was thinking of the suzuki 250dr which is quite mellower and tamed 4 stroke. My bad

This would be perfect for one of those videos where they do the beat drop as his face hits the pavement. 😂

Folks who rode a dirtbike once when they were a kid think they can jump on a 2-stroke racing bike and itll be a piece of cake. Ive seen this happen before. Bro had no idea wtf he was doing on that bike. No hand on the clutch, feet flopping around... Super dangerous to do what he did in the middle of an intersection.

u/Coffee_pecking_order 8d ago
10 minutes earlier they arrested the guy who owns the bike for doing the exact same thing.
Cops are the worst of humanity.

That's comedy gold right there! Great decision there officer. Not knowing how to ride a bike yet you thought it was a good idea to move it. Thanks for the laughs.

Two strokes are insanely powerful, the torque hits like a fucking mule if you don’t know how to use the clutch to control it. Cop found out the hard way. Sucks for the guy whose bike this is.. he shouldn’t have had it on the street but also doesn’t deserve to have it wrecked by a cop.

Besides the no helmet. I do love the cops interacting with the community and not just shutting it down instantly

I'll never understand this whenever I see it lol like without context, it seems like the cop is trying to be cool? I always assumed he was trying to build a bit of rapport instead of just impounding the bike and locking everyone up?
But he's obviously never been on a motorcycle before so why tf would you do this in the middle of traffic 😅😅

What seems to be the officer, problem?
