They are trying. Trust the government
-7
u/Character_Stick_1218 2d ago
I know it's a joke and I HATE the government(the current administration in particular), but I just can't bring myself to upvote this. It's one thing when such egregious atrocities are kept at a distance, but it's hard to look at and treat it in such a lighthearted manner when you've looked it in its ugly face and gotten a better idea of how it affects those who suffer it.
2
u/RoyalCharity1256 11h ago
That's fine i guess. But a bad situation that we feel powerless about is hard to handle. Some do it with humor some with anger some disconnect and stop caring. I dont think there really is a right way as long as our values align

Lets just ignore that Epstein had Bill Clinton's painting in his mansion and they took dozens of trips together.
26
u/Doakeswasframed 2d ago
Why? Let's pay attention to all of it, lock up anyone we can prove was part of the child abuse, no one is saying not to investigate Bill Clinton. the way maga loves Trump is wild.
14
u/Character_Stick_1218 2d ago
Is Bill Clinton the sitting President? Tell me, why use such whataboutism?
-16
u/EL_Chapo_Cuzzin 2d ago
Was Bill not on Epstein's plane? You liberals love looking the other way.
16
u/Character_Stick_1218 2d ago
I'm not a liberal. You MAGA cultists sure like to mindlessly parrot propaganda. Everyone responsible for that child trafficking evil should be publicly shamed and executed. You just don't want to feel guilty about supporting, worshipping, one of the most evil people alive who is also CURRENTLY a much greater threat in general than Bill Clinton ever was. It's not just people in general that you try to turn your guilt around on, but especially those who hold it up to your face and make you look the ugly mess in the mirror.
•
u/Crunchycarrots79 18m ago
I don't know a single liberal that doesn't want Clinton investigated as well. However, there's LOTS of folks that are okay with Trump's involvement being covered up.

The child caused the accident... Down vote me, but some kids aren't gonna grow up to be good people and we already have an over burdened jail system. That kid could have killed a lot of innocent people with legitimate futures ahead of them.
46
u/RadRimmer9000 2d ago
That accident was 100% preventable, the kid earned that karma and deserved it too.
-25
u/smthomaspatel 2d ago

Yeah, I didn't actually turn the kid probably dying into something political, I commented on another person's comment being ok with Reddit when others they aren't as bad are removed. But you wouldn't understand that

Driver didn’t get away due to injury but is alive, passenger was ok enough to leg it off the scene before emergency services arrived.

u/krupta13 2d ago
amazing..back in the day where there wasn't that many advanced safety mechanics in a car that would have been guaranteed death.
2
u/czartrak 2h ago
And people think old cars are better because they're "built tougher"
1
u/krupta13 2h ago
I mean they are. wich is a bad thing. modern cars have crumple zones so they cant be as tough lol
2
u/czartrak 2h ago
The only thing I miss from old cars is serviceability. Not dying or being horribly injured for life is a pretty sick modern feature
2
u/krupta13 2h ago
it absolutely is! 2 easters ago a modern car with all the safety features saved my brother and a friend. the wreck of the car made you go cold when you saw the damage. my brother was the passenger and barely got a scratch. the driver wasn't so lucky and is going have lifelong disability and recovery. but my god none should have been alive. modern safety mechanics in cars are severely underrated untill you see what they can do.

Update: News article live at https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/story/9359885/ashtonfield-teen-charged-after-allegedly-stolen-car-goes-airborne/ but it has a paywall.
Awesomely I can use the 2HD website (an old AM radio station from Newcastle) to get the below, taken from https://2hd.com.au/articles/ashtonfield-teen-crash-charge/
A 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and taken to the John Hunter Hospital under police guard.
During a search of the sedan, officers located and seized a mobile phone and balaclava. The vehicle as towed for forensic examination.
The teenager was later charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Monday 19 October 2026.
The search for a second boy who fled the scene is ongoing.

Meanwhile 13 y.o. in Latvia in his dad's car
31
u/Baddyshack 2d ago
Eh, that's nothing. When I was 13 my dad let me drive his truck down the road. And I didn't have to sit in his lap.
19
u/JeanPascalCS 2d ago
Lol when I was 14 my uncle had fixed my dad's truck and it needed to be picked up. He was like "just take the bus from school to your uncle's house and drive it back home for me". This was like a 12 mile drive (albeit on mostly deserted backroads). Times were different back then.
6
u/standbyyourmantis 2d ago
When I was 13 my dad didn't want to move the car out of our driveway so my mom could get her car out and told me to do it. I'd never driven before and our driveway was hard to get out of because of a slight bend and deep ditches on either side.
Luckily, I only knocked over the neighbors' mailbox and they'd known me since I was a baby and their daughter had been our regular babysitter so it was okay. Mom was PISSED.
2
u/Longjumping_Fun2576 2d ago
Yeah, I volunteer with addicts. And it's pretty crazy that many of them have been driving since they were 10, because their parents were drunk.
Then they would get their first DUI at like 17.
5
u/spaceraverdk 2d ago
I learned to drive a tractor at 3, drove grandpas car at 8, then as I got tall enough, I drove him to and from his house and ours, next town over, was picking up my parents from a night out at 14. I did my car licence flawless at 18, took a CDL at 30, motorcycle at 33. Figured why the hell not, I got a good deal on lessons and tests.
Still ride like I've been shot at.

Damn, anyone remember Burnout the game series? Had crashes just like this.
30
u/fusionmobile 2d ago
OMG. When you could control how the crash went, for the most points? That was wild.
That being said, this kid got top score.

Burnout: Takedown was literally the only car game I enjoyed as a kid, so much fun lol

We are the lazy generation… 😌
One of the only original Xbox games I’ve kept because every now and then I just have to play it again.

It was just fun having a car game that was less about boring-ass races and more about boring-ass races where you get more points for absolutely wrecking the opponents' cars.

I feel like at 14 I could probably have driven a car safer than that. I just dont see how you get into this position
15
u/fsidesmith6932 2d ago
Video game courage. I’m sure if you kept it under 80mph (128kph) in a residential area, you’d already be a leg up on this kid’s performance.

…. Is it the Kia Boys again? Remember that they somehow exist and the government in its absolute wisdom never do anything to them. They literally steal cars, crash them while running from police and then just run away or get freed because they are younger than 14. Think they had TikToks showing how they stole cars….
Either way, sucks.
21
u/vixxgod666 2d ago
No, this was in NSW. Info is in the original post. Nothing to do with American kids. Turns out teenagers can be reckless idiots anywhere in the world.

That was intense. I am about to start teaching my kid how to drive, and this is just spiking those nerves a bit.
12
u/standbyyourmantis 2d ago
I think the whole point of teaching them to drive is so this DOESN'T happen, so you're already a step up there
1
6
u/sparrow_42 2d ago
Maybe don't teach them this move, the landing was all wrong

u/Interesting-Boat-804 2d ago
Who pays for the truck ? 😅
9
u/Ancient_Sprinkles847 2d ago
If it’s insured, the owners probably have to make the claim themselves, and then go after the kid or his family for the related costs (deductible/excess whatever you call it there)

Holy shit, that truck is a hero. It saved its owner's house, possibly even the owner's life at 5am in the morning. Could have been 2nd degree people's slaughter.
How the hell is that kid still alive with that much aerial rotation and collision force? Sure, the truck did its job of absorbing so much of the force, but still!

The sound of the horn beeping every time the car flips is wild. Kids face just bouncing off the steering wheel multiple times.

u/scottonaharley 2d ago
I expected a police car not far behind this disaster. The fact that they were going this fast without being chased is actually scary.

Good takeoff, nice vault and they stuck the landing.

I've been driving a long time, I've done some dumb things behind the wheel, I cannot conceive of how to make a car do what this car is doing when it enters the frame.

The amount of chance in that video is astonishing.
The car hit the start of the lawn exactly with its nose, flinged that white thing away, directly into the path of that little garden decor completely annihilating it, then the car turned around exactly enough and flew exactly the right distance to crash butt first into the front of the parking car.
Also it beeps every time it crashes against something

I had my earphones on, the sound destroyed my ears. Why is it so loud ?
1
u/RogerKilljoy83 1d ago
I’m assuming the cam is mounted above a roller door into the garage, so the concrete letterbox, vehicular impact on the ground/letterbox/vehicle/ground would have thrown debris all over that door.

I remember when I was in a stolen car, I was scared to death of getting caught and we all drove slowly and stuck to back roads.
The new generation is crazy!!
1
u/Many-Wasabi9141 8h ago
Are the parents liable for the damage? Does the stolen car owners insurance pay? Or is the poor home owner just stuck paying for a new work truck with his car and/or home insurance?

This is how my best friend died when I was a kid. He was just 12. Stole a car because he thought it would impress his cousin.
RIP Randy. We had a lot of fun playing transformers.
