Nominate your neighbour, your car, the weather or your broken trampoline springs. Tell us about any non-political thing in your life that's shitty and have a vent.

I feel like they just relabelled the transaction fee to ‘service fee’. Semantic shenanigans to skirt the new rules and definitely doesn’t pass the sniff test.

8 TimTams in a pack is just offensive! …I mean yeah there’s shrinkflation going on everywhere, but then theres downright egregious short-changing of the customer… the plastic spacers in the tray are as big as the TimTams themselves!?

Some questions to reach 120 characters:
(1) What are we doing here, and
(2) how do I contact the TimTam genie to complain

A short appreciation post.

Being stunt with a 1.5% credit card fee everywhere I go has been an accepted nuisance to mine and probably a lot of people here's life.

Did the weekly groceries today and alas, no pressing the green 'agree' button on a surcharge. It felt great!

Well done labour or ATO or whoever decided to change this. 👏🏼

no politics I thought there's a card surcharge ban?

So the internet thinks I'm Australian now and has decided to serve content regarding the Australian "card surcharge ban". Well, less than 24 hours after the ban was enacted, this came up on my feed (by the time I am writing this, it's over 24 hours, but this image was published before the 24-hour mark).

Unless I have a completely wrong understanding of the wording of the legislation(s), I think this is exactly what they mean by "[don't] describ[e] a card payment surcharge as another type of fee or charge".

To an extent, they didn't even rename "card surcharge". They used "public holiday Surcharge" as a shield.

Also, if my understanding of the previous set of rules is correct, businesses can't charge consumers more than what it costs them, so this wouldn't be appropriate under the previous set of rules, as it implies that the terminal costs them 10% of an order's price to use (last line).

no politics How is this possible?

Hi! A question I wanted to ask is, is there a cheaper option for doctors and therapy to be less expensive with only a Medicare card in VIC?

I talk to a doctor for ten minutes, ask for a referral and a mental healthcare plan. I was told I wasn't eligible to 10 free sessions, I was given a new medication, and I was charged 284 dollars. I could pay half, pay the rest 3 days later and got a rebate of 160 back (which wasn't too bad, but was still expensive for me.) I need to see the doctor every 2 months and I can't afford it so I dont go on and off. I need to speak to someone like a therapist but it costs over 200 dollars for an hour- maybe 45 minutes. I haven't gone.

Long story short, I don't know where I could go to make payments not be quarter of my fortnightly pay, or if its just like that for everyone in Victoria?
