Bots and any form of RMT INCLUDING WoW token like purchases ruin my enjoyment of mmorpgs. Because I like to farm and grind for gold. If I can buy gold Ill just work couple hours overtime and do it and lose interest in the game after couple of weeks

Show me one game developer that doesnt deal with the exact same issues in their online game with open trade. I'll wait. Bots on diablo2 in 2002. bots in every MMO ive ever played. RMT in all of those things as well. Havent played one that didnt have this happen.
So you guys are either quitting gaming altogether or you're about to find out that money rules the world quite literally.

The solution exists and its GMs looking at data in real time and taking action on it immediately but thats not cost effective. You have to pay real people that they replaced with AI/auto responses years ago.

They didn’t solve it even before AI/auto responses. NO game has solved rmt or botting. It’s not just that it’s not cost effective, it’s an impossible task to solve.

They didn't fail to fix it, they never really tried.
With their ressources, they could have done it. Ask someone who plays a decent amount of WoW they will tell you wherw the bots are farming, shown you some, and what are the strat they are using.
It's impossible to argue Blizzard isn't aware with all their tool when players are.

A streamer (or multiple now) got caught publicly buying gold, or accepting bought gold. At least one has now openly admitted to getting his chat to buy him gold.
Blizzard has „punished“ the streamer by removing the gold from his account.
Take from it what you want, but for me that was their opportunity to show everyone what will happen to RMT cheaters, and they showed us all that they are doing the bare minimum. (It’s crazy that previously they did EVEN less and let people keep the cheated gold)

I don't know it was pretty miserable for me in SOD, I did end up making a lot of money but it was very frustrating having to fight against the bots that camp the auction house and undercut you every 30 seconds and you scripts to get their goods back.
I worked my ass off getting like a hundred people to report them and nothing happened. I want to make a point I could at least get this one bot banned but I couldn't. I was probably closer to getting banned than they were just for having random people report me because they don't like being bothered.
I quit after that in phase 4. Did a lil bit of tbc classic anni and same issues.
Never touched forever I'm waiting personally to see the verdict and playing Aion 2 instead rn

because for most people the danger isn't immediate. For most people RMT are hurtful because it affects the value of their gold AND because of the constant spam in chat when bots are allowed.
At this moment, a handful of streamers trying to get an edge for a PvP tournament affects them very slightly.
I still think they should care, but it's understandable if they don't even notice unless other sources draw their attention to the issue.

If you’re in a guild or group long enough you’ll realize how many people do it. I’d join other guilds raids and they’d talk about, move to another guild and they’d talk about it. It’s not like they were being banned. This was both on NA and EU, you couldn’t escape the swipe.

Not now, but 2-3 years from now the economy will be dead, maybe even sooner with how much people (and whales) will be playing Forever.
Lot of people will come to conclusion that they don't want to spend more money on RMT next to sub to stay afloat to keep doing what they're doing due to hyperinflation.
And the player numbers will keep declining.

I voted all my life with my wallet and still all the big games are filled with cosmetics, p2w, lootboxes, dlcs for stuff that should have been base game, unlocks and all that.
Voting with your wallet unfortunately means you play single player indie games or read a book instead.

It's always worth remembering that reddit users are an extremely small minority of the player base. And from all the reddit users only a small minority even comment. And even from the commenting reddit users only a part are on here complaining - those who enjoy the game just play it instead of spending their time here in discussions on ever the same things.

I've already come to terms that I'll only play a month or two just to check out the new content and class design. Not interested in a bot/rmt infested end game like every other iteration of classic. It's brings the worst type of player to the community and it's just not fun competing with bots.
Blizzard has shown time and time again that they don't care and just blow smoke up our asses to get us hyped and then never follow through on anything.

I’m surprised too but it’s not in USD, it’s euro, which means they reside in a country and system of countries that actually give somewhat of a fuck about consumer protection while technically the product hasn’t released yet and what they paid for in actuality not yet delivered. I’m sure after Nov 4th they wouldn’t have been able to do so.

It’s not about them refunding, it’s about them posting on reddit like it’s some brave act. When I don’t want to play a game, I simply don’t play it. And when I don’t respect a companies decisions, I find somewhere else to shop and move on with my life.
Social media has done this weird thing to people’s brains where they think they’re way more important than they actually are, and replies like this certainly don’t help.

I went to refund and couldnt, I may still escalate a ticket, I dunno. I didnt even think I played that much BETA and haven't even been on since before the name ban wave.
Im just so disappointed because it was so quick for them to reverse and literally remain silent about the issue.... and this is an issue.
I had hoped this was it, and true relaunch to feel like it used to be. Streamers didnt use to be and if they wont tone that aspect down then the games doomed. Ill stick with my single player games again, community is dead.
