You are kidding me? This God Damn Virgins made fake posts with purpose?!?!?! Ok at that point you can definitely say that the classic wow community is much more cursed and toxic than retails :D
EU era survives solely on gdkp and the RMT tied to it. Nobody gives a fuck about anyone only that the pot grows.
Yes, there are some SR guilds and they are all either dog shit (unable to clear bwl) or filled with people just scheming how to get their next epic and fucking over everyone they can in the process.
Edit: the only thing most of them have in common is hating on retail and a good bunch still claim that era is the more difficult game. (To the surprise to no-one with half a braincell left: It is in fact not even on the same scale as modern wow. 99% of classic andys could not clear a +5.)
I think the majority of both probably just plays and enjoys their game without the need to bicker on the internet about it. After all, that's what trade chat is for.
They weren't saying that those Retail models were in WoWF, they were saying that they shouldn't be brought to WoWF as they don't match the same art style.
If you really wanted to play devils advocate you could also read that post as giving examples of modern models they think are downgrades, not saying that those models are currently in Forever.
That is at least how I initially read it, but only because I knew that they didn't update the Hogger model. It is misleading for sure.
Most of those posts are intentionally misleading for the sake of supporting their argument. Like the recent post showing an SD human, and a completely different HD human from retail that's not even possible to create in Forever.
Wasn't there am Era Guild that was planning on trolling the whole expansion, complete with attempting to become the defacto Forever Discord, and "secret" guild meetings discussing these trolling attempts.
Is this some sort of mass push from r/wow as a false flag or something? I think this is the third thread stating this as fact in the last hour I have seen. Every post prior to this used hogger as an example of how bad modern Blizzard art design is versus the classic one. The legitimate complaint and request for a model change was always for Chol'aruk who was a retail model within Forever. Which fortunately was replaced with a classic design as of the last patch, because the retail style sucked ass.
There was posts for both. Also Chol'aruk in retail looks much better and is accurate to quillboar design while his Sd model is dogshit and quillboars do not wear chainmail/full suit of heavy chunky armor. They're a tribal race the design makes 0 sense. His remake keeps his shoulders to reflect him being a big boy and thats about all it needs.
Im sorry to tell you this... but the new model its just a slightly edited withered warrior using fist weapons. So the whole thing about them not wearing armor etc is just your head canon. Maybe play classic more?
Sorry to tell me what? I said that model is dogshit and the retail model they used was better. Quillboar in fact do not wear chainmail, bulky helmets, etc that is why that model/design is terrible.
They do tho, there are several in classic, especially so in dungeons such as Razorfen Defenders, (Razorfen Warriors and Quilguard champions share the same model) and a boss named Death Speaker Jargba has a recolor of it, some quillboars do in fact wear armor.
And that was the easy to find once that just share this armored model.
Why wouldn't they use armour that they have taken from dead members of the Horde? Plus they got guys like Amnennar the Coldbringer trying to boost them into being a bigger threat.
Yup, it's some floor IQ attempt to try and reframe the conversation.
Obviously no one was ever saying they changed the Gnoll model - it was just a reference point to clearly show that Classic and Retail models are very different and don't belong in the same game.
We want new models, we just want them to be in the style of Classic. That's the discussion. These type of posts are some brigade effort to straw man.
The discussion has always been around new assets. Any comparison between the old and new models is to simply illustrate the difference between Classic and Retail models, because that's all the new models have just been recycled Retail assets. And we want Classic style new models.
Are people really confused by this? Is illiteracy that bad?
Here's the post (can't see the contents, but you can see that it was up for hours before being removed based on the mods comment. Can also see what people in the comments were saying).
people are falling for it because blizzard has already set a precedent that they're willing to ruin the classic art style with out of place retail models, like skyborne.
No its the arrogance, ignorance, the superiority complex's people have, the condescension and intentionally misconstruing people's opinions they disagree with that make them unhinged.
No condenscedion. Just an opinion on you. You want change and judge all who don't agree with you. Pushback always results in pushback so don't be surprised when your hate is met with hate.
cool, now can we stop this whole nonsense of trying to graft random out of place retail models into the game and just make all the models look like they look in vanilla wow or belong in the vanilla wow world.
It wasnt even hogger from retail. It was a version of hogger that never even made it to retail.
Stuff like that thread just hurts the entire debate because anyone who actually played Forever or Retail instantly knew it was bullshit but people on this sub are so quick to jump onto the retail bad bandwagon it got traction quickly despite being bullshit.
Here is Hoggers actual model that you can log onto retail and see right now. The screenshot that was being posted on this sub was from the Dragonflight Beta and never actually made it to the live game.
and here are generic gnolls even though what this post was made about and I was commenting about was specifically about Hogger as the original post that got deleted by the mods after getting hundreds of upvotes was claiming the Forever Model for hogger was the screenshot of Hogger from dragonflight beta.
This thread is what sparked my comment and OP to post the read you are on i response. It posted the old model for hogger during Dragonflight Beta alongside the classic one and quickly got a ton of upvotes and people raging out until it was deleted for spreading misinfo.
This is you misconstruing what was said entirely. I was one of the people who posted a comparison, and it was to illustrate the differences in ARTSTYLE between retail and classic, after seeing that all of the datamined assets (and stuff like Skyborne druid forms) follow the retail artstyle. At no point did I say that it was currently in Forever. I welcome you to go and dig up a quote where this was ever said.
You can try to misrepresent it all you want, but not wanting it to snowball into retail is a valid concern seeing as the ball already started rolling.
I've never said all comparisons were claiming we got retail gnolls. But tons of posts did or at least were misleading as if we got dragonflight beta hogger. I just wanted to make clear that we indeed have classic gnolls in Forever which is great
Except it wasnt hogger from retail either? It was an alpha model from dragonflight. It's not that hard to inform yourself on a topic before spreading misinformation.
It's not an alpha model, it's in the (retail) game right now. Just not for Hogger, he has a unique model. But the other gnolls definitely have that model.
I guess I'll have to throw this right back at you:

I get they are basically the same but the pic in the other thread was brown and had the shoulder armor which was the alpha hogger before it got changed.
That looks so awful. Hogger looks like that dumb Hyena in Lion King. So many Disney models in this game. Where is the 2004 SD model that I used to know?

This should literally be pinned on the subreddit with the amount of people falling for the other posts
