Congrats to Genshin for being the 5th game to hit $50M+ revenue this year!

1st: Genshin (Jan)

3rd: HSR (Apr)

4th: Genshin (Jul)

5th: Genshin (Sep)

Last year's list below 👇

looking at all these 90 millions and now reaching 60m is considered good LMAO, gacha really fell off

Recession indicator

u/pigeon-check 6h ago

That would be a funny answer to those "recession indicators" posts

These are such dumb arguments man. Recession? For whales? Do you guys know who gets hurt by recessions? Because it ain’t whales.

16

u/pigeon-check 5h ago

You think all whales have lamborghinis and yachts?

You think whales aren’t in the top 10% income
Brackets if not higher and have stable jobs?

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.

Edit: once again gachagamers who are broke acting as if they know what true spenders do lol.

Let’s also keep in mind gacha is becoming more and more saturated and I don’t think the genre is bringing in any new players at a considerable rate. More games means just spreading the existing customers out further reducing the chances of single games popping off like they used to.

Economy is in the shitter

68

u/BalerionsReign 6h ago

I have 2 friends that used to top up a lot, but now they can't not because they don't like it anymore, but because economy is literally so shit right now

32

u/Moonlighteverafter 6h ago

Even whale content creators who have it as their job stopped whaling

15

u/kuraokami89 6h ago

Indicates that economy is collapsing

6

u/FlameDragoon933 5h ago

feels like the entire world is collapsing, even.

12

u/Limafoxtrot360 6h ago

Recession, more games in the space, and many of these big open world ones make more money on console and PC which isn't reflected on these charts.

there is also still the cut but yeah overall its down

> gacha fell off

The world is healing

Finally a comment I can agree with. I nearly cut all my gachas now (except NTE and ZZZ) and allocated my gambling addiction budget to single player games: Dawnwalker, Control Resonant, & Ace Combat 8. Life feels so much better now.

2

u/Meaon_Ria 6h ago

Not really also because there is multiple gateway to top up now

Well back then you can only buy currency on android and ios now we got lots of third party sites where we can buy currency.

Bro seriously think there's a game out there that ALWAYS maintains its revenue for over five consecutive years LMAO. Really need to touch grass or take a few classes.

I cant recall who released in February for them to get 50mil+? For the others i remember but February no

12

u/Reasonable_Key_9822 6h ago

Zibai + varka

10

u/WingsDT 6h ago

Zibai and I think some days of Varka.

5

u/Confident_Ocelot1098 6h ago

I recall zhibai pretty strong on PS5, rank 1 more than a week (aemeth only 1 day and Sunna peak at rank 2) there's also varka banner that month

3

u/kuraokami89 6h ago

Zibai and Varka banner I think , since Columbina hit 66 millions

12

u/Moonlighteverafter 6h ago

HSR might pass 50 M in November and then Genshin will pass it in December for the Tsaritsa.

14

u/Dangamer56 6h ago

I expect 90mil+ for tsaritsa banner because its releasing in december. Don't know much about the CN market but genshin has always been screwed over by sensortower because its past main push was released in january and during that time Tiktok isnt no1, its the other two tencent games. So normally passing tiktok means being no 1 in CN but genshin always gets 3rd place even after passing it which means revenue is underestimated

15

u/Reasonable_Key_9822 6h ago

Not happening

CN too competitive now  + Global fucked up by topup center and 30% fee hike

8

u/Moonlighteverafter 6h ago

I can’t see them crossing 90-100 M tbh.

If 2 new banners + anniversary didn’t pass say Columbina then yeah idk.

I think 90-100M days are long gone.

Mavuika + Citlali was their last time I think with 99 M?

4

u/Dangamer56 6h ago

The problem I said affected mavuika as well. I think it lasted 30+hrs above tiktok yet did not hit no 1. The actual mobile revenue was probably much higher.

Story has already been good, they just need to get her kit right. Please make her a main dps

2

u/JamesSH1328 Persona 5: The Phantom X 5h ago

How many Lamborghinis does Hoyo CEO have?

•

u/blippyblip 31m ago

None, just a couple of nuclear reactors lmao

•

u/Rare_Marionberry782 6m ago

Nuclear reactor powered Lambos

1

u/Pitiful-Assignment-8 5h ago

I'm convinced that a significant part of the revenue comes directly from miliastra, it's just that ST can't separate this revenue, since it's a game within a game.
But the result of such stability is also the purchase of skins, which speaks to hoyo successful business strategy.

•

u/LightlessRainfall 3h ago

That’s what I think as well, It would be a funny thought if it turns out half of the revenue earned is from Milliastra given how much push back it gets from the western playerbase

•

u/New-Decision5632 2h ago

Damn , gacha fell off 🥀, we don't see those fat 80 mil nowadays
