Claret peaked below Jingran from WuWa in China, and her shipbait banner is one of the worst I've ever seen from a big gacha. From what I recall, even Banyue somehow crawled to 96th place.
Just remember, numbers are a little skewed. She definitely did better than this, by how much? idk. Probably not a ton better but anyone who spent money for Claret and/or Roxy likely did it last patch during the spending event. People spending now are just whales and the few people who just didn't know any better. Same thing happened with the 2.6 patch.
Considering dialyn peaked 36 last year as a broken support, claret did fine by ZZZ standards. Even velina got in the 30s with a void hunter first rerun and a brand new element. 30s/low 40s just looks like ZZZs norm.
That said, bro wasnt wrong about wuwa Jingran outperforming her. Jingran hit like 36. But wuwa has had a stronger month to month compared to zzz for a long time. Zzz only gets ahead with void
hunters.

ZZZ catered more to ML/gooner community, which hates the existence of yaoi/yuri content. Also both Genshin and HSR's character designs are on the tamer side compared to ZZZ.

Deliberately ignoring that Phoenix is the final piece of the strongest team in the game right now, which also includes one of the characters with the higher ownership rates, while also making this team 15% better than the next best thing.
Not to mention Phoenix is a very popular right now due to meme potential and good first impression. When we first met Claret we didn't now about the yuri and she still wasn't popular (in fact, she was being trashed by the ugly model).

Well they’ve had a dedicated pc launcher since launch. I play on pc and I love Steam but why would I migrate to Steam when the game is perfectly fine using the hoyo launcher as is.
10+ years of steam user here. I still won't move ZZZ to Steam because I'm still playing other hoyo games. no reason to move if other 3 games in the same launcher.
if I want reinstall wuwa back, definitely would be on steam because, no point for me to use official launcher
Wuwa on Steam comes without launcher (that's going to change soon) and without other issues (like being unable to delete completed content), unlike ZZZ.
People play through the internal launcher, and there are several good reasons for this:
In the Steam version you can't delete resources of completed content (while in the hoyo launcher you can)
Unlike competitors, the Hoyo launcher contains 4 games, and if a user plays at least 2 of them = there's no point in reinstalling for just ZZZ in Steam, it's easier to just use a separate launcher. That's exactly why most players don't really have a reason to move to Steam, and the statistics themselves aren't indicative.
The only ones who really benefited from the game being added are Steam Deck users.

The only thing Kuro actually did was just remove that Java cringe from their code. Are you sure ZZZ devs have a similar issue in their game that is just as easily fixed?
Even Arc Raiders is losing players. I’m guessing the genre is fundamentally niche and everyone is forcing it to be the next Battle Royal genre that is mega popular.
Found the one zzz post. Rip Claret. Roxy is going to be even worse. I think Claret is awesome. Sigrid game play is more enjoyable, but she was a solid pick up. Too bad she was after Remielle and before Sunbringer.
The loudest ones were the people who took the yuri as a personal attack. You don’t even need Roxy if you have Norna, and Claret is the 8th electric DPS. How do they expect them to sell as well as the previous patch?
