Why does every building in NK seem to be designed as a liminal space? Something about the colors and lighting, and lack of windows maybe? Even with a room full of people it gives me that weird feeling.

This is what it is, they just don't have a whole lot of cultural exchange with the rest of the world so all of their design sensibilities are outdated
