I don't see how you can even tolerate something like that. Every single person always praising you and such. No honest/real interaction. Couldn't do it.

I am not young

I lived in Romania under Ceausescu.

I was one of the "happy people" in the crowd.  You had no choice. If you disobeyed you and your family were marginalized, job lost, house taken away. You better be happy.

Dictators love this.

Call me old fashioned but I would also tend to dislike murders and torture. Maybe that's why I'm not trying to become a dictator. But let's face it, some people LOVE flattery, torture and murder. The current POTUS is one, so it's not even limited to dictatorships.
