Self-Promo and Fan Art Thread Weekly Friday Self-Promotion and Fan Art Thread
The Self-Promotion Friday and Fan Art Thread serves as a place for content creators to share their work with the community at r/nba. If you'd like to post your work below, there are some guidelines we kindly ask you to follow:
- No linking out to re-sellers/retailers and/or directly selling merchandise via any e-commerce/marketplace type of website (i.e. Etsy, Society 6, Fiverr, etc...). Any websites or blogs explicitly asking users for donations or monetary compensation via any sort of online or mobile payment services are prohibited.
- No linking out to content behind paywalls or content requiring users to register/create an account in order access said content.
- Content must be relevant to the NBA or r/nba. Comments with content not relevant to the aforementioned will be removed.
- Be an active member of our community outside of self-promoting your own content. Comments from accounts with the same namesake as a brand or content being promoted will be removed.
- No spam. No spamming other users' comments or spamming other users' private messages.
Any comments failing to meet the guidelines outlined above will be removed and users may be subject to a ban. We'd also advice familiarizing yourself with Reddits' self-promotion policy.
For any questions or any other comments/feedback, feel free to reach out to the moderation team via mod mail.

Sorry if I am asking in the wrong place. If so, please let me know.
I bought a $1,200 Samsung QLED TV in 2025 almost solely to watch NBA. It's always kept up-to-date, as was the NBA App. Despite that, I have enjoyed:
- Constant freezing mid-game
- Being unable to load games at all (but they load on the PC version of the app)
- Most frustrating of all, the app fast-forwards / rewinds extremely slowly. For example, to fast-forward about an hour, I may have to sit at my TV for 5+ minutes holding fast-forward. It drives me nuts.
Yes, I have very good internet. Yes, I have powered on/off the machine. Yes yes yes to all of the other basic trouble shooting issues.
Any recommendations the brand of TV that the NBA App actually functions properly with?

This contract negotiation by Duran’s agent is textbook. Everyone is saying Duran is stupid for not taking the 200m deal, but he has so much leverage. There are not many good bigs that play 70+ games. The pistons need a guy next to Cade in the form of a Center. He’s 22 years old.
The pistons are going to pay him what he wants in the end.

I am realizing now, I have missed this self promo post for this week, but will post anyway (and maybe revisit next week). I have been for myself now working on a side project called Hoopsmachine.
Hoopsmachine is a (mostly)real-time basketball news aggregator covering everything: NBA, WNBA, NCAA, G League, international leagues. All of it. Here’s what makes it different:
Intelligent clustering. When a trade breaks, you don’t need 47 separate links saying the same thing. Hoopsmachine groups coverage together, showing you the primary source and related reporting in one place.
Curated by robots. The system watches over 100 sources around the clock, using embeddings and similarity matching to understand what’s being covered. No manual curation. No editorial bias. Just algorithms doing what they do best: processing information at scale.
You can check it out at https://hoopsmachine.com
Main thing I am hoping is for feedback. If you try it out and think it sucks, or think its great, or think it could be improved, I'd love to hear it.

May not be allowed, so mods feel free to delete if not.
I made a free little NBA game called Bid Ball — basically those blind all-time NBA draft videos turned into a game. You get a budget, players appear one at a time, and you have to decide whether to spend big or hold out without knowing who’s coming next.
You build a starting 5, then simulate the matchup/season. There’s also a daily challenge where everyone gets the same board.
Would genuinely love some feedback from NBA fans. (App Store)

I built a small NBA site called 1on1ball where there’s one new hypothetical 1v1 matchup every day.
You get two specific versions of players from actual seasons, their stats, and vote on:
Who wins 1v1 to 50?
After the matchup closes, the community result is revealed and the next matchup goes up.
I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time putting together the historical player/season data and finding decent photos for everyone, so I’d love to finally get some actual NBA fans trying it 😅
Would genuinely appreciate any feedback — especially if something feels confusing, annoying, or you think would make the daily matchup more fun.
And obviously I’m curious whether you agree with today’s result.

Built a small side project for NBA fans: a live arena where fanbases compete for seats. Every seat paints your team's section and the standings update live. Right now the Mavs lead and Warriors fans are somehow 21st 😭 Would love feedback from actual NBA fans: thesixthman.online

I built a free NBA GOAT debate game — draft your all-time 5 from the Top 50, get scored against the perfect lineup, then vote head-to-head on matchups that move the live rankings.
Current top 10 (algorithm + fan vote):
1. Michael Jordan — 98.44
2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar — 95.81
3. LeBron James — 94.88
4. Bill Russell — 84.46
5. Tim Duncan — 78.20
6. Magic Johnson — 73.83
7. Kobe Bryant — 73.62
8. Wilt Chamberlain — 73.08
9. Shaquille O'Neal — 71.91
10. Larry Bird — 69.85
Kareem just edged LeBron for #2 — by less than a point.
Free to play, ranking formula's published on the site — tell me where it's wrong.

I run Deep Bench Chronicles, a small site about NBA history, mostly the stuff that tends to fall through the cracks: forgotten players, role players, strange careers, old books and overlooked teams/seasons.
Recent pieces have been on Larry Smith, Neal Walk, Tom Chambers, Darryl Dawkins and the Vancouver Grizzlies.

Join if you want more eyes on the board, more people catching markets you might miss, and an active group to talk hoops with all season.
