Just asked Victor Wembanyama if he’d ever consider promoting a sports betting company.

“Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's very sad to see some players promote it. .. Everybody does whatever they want, but without me.”

He’s unique even in Europe. Soccer ads and gambling have been crippling people for decades and these companies have their adverts everywhere

Parts of Europe definitely are. The advertising would not be the same though just due to cultural differences and increased regulation since it was legal for longer.

It’s a lot more trivialised in the US I feel. Like having social media accounts from massive TV networks specifically dedicated to gambling. You’d never see that in here here in Denmark, and I have a very difficult time imagining any other European country having something similar.

That’s of course not to say we don’t have issues with gambling at all, just that it seems much more “mainstream” in the US

They'll get some as soon as someone pays them $10m to say so

A few years ago Kyrie spoke out about how gambling has impacted the sport and the toxicity it's created among basketball fans.

Lmao anyone complaining about gambling commercials would 100% do it as well if a company offered them a fuck ton of money. Fuck them kids I’d sleep like a baby if I could be In a gambling ad

That new Polymarket commercial with Eli Manning and Spike Lee… and Alexandria Daddario for some reason is egregious.

It's just another symptom of the cultural divide between Europe and USA. Individualism Vs Socialism.

That’s just not the case with gambling. There’d be a lot of European countries where it’s more popular than the US. It was also never illegal in the first place in most countries.
