I scrolled to do a double take.
At first I scrolled past and then just had this weird thought, why did that espresso machine look like it had a GPU?
15
21
u/TheTresStateArea 18d ago
I also thought it heated water to make coffee as a side benefit.
16
u/Sanga884 18d ago
It'll probably happen 1 day, wouldn't shock me to learn that a usb powered kettle or espresso machine exists

u/maxxxminecraft111 i7-11800H, 3070 80W, 16GB DDR4 18d ago
USB doesn't deliver nearly enough power for that amount of heat... a 5090 on the other hand...

I currently use half a solo cup to hold up my GPU but this is cool too ig

u/grand_soul 18d ago
Yo, you gonna keep that masterpiece all to yourself? Not share that glory?!
Fucking rich people….

Me with my stack of lego blocks for my gpu kickstand. I mean, I did use one of the flat wide pieces for the base so I guess it is pretty profesh.

I’ve seen some of your stuff that’s pretty steampunk too. But I think it’ll finally be achievable for me when you release that awesome copper water block

Spent half a day re-pasting my GPU and CPU yesterday.
Was proud of myself.
Then I see this

u/IcyCow5880 18d ago
In actuality though, if it was needed you made a way bigger difference to your temps than OP's setup.
My 4080 was getting 110c on the hotspot with the fans peaking. Then I repasted with a thermal grizzly PTM sheet. Now the highest I've seen the hotspot is 79c which is the lowest end of the spec.

Looks awesome. Did you wax the copper or are you going to let it age
56
u/Old-Mate-Fetus 18d ago
just going to let it tarnish over time, i quite like the look :)
30
u/Afloatcactus5 18d ago
Hell yeah. Plus being all copper you'll probably never have to change the fluid or worry about anything growing in the loop.

u/Thruthful 18d ago
Unless the heatsinks are aluminum, but I have to imagine a dude that builds this did his homework

Do you have a YouTube video that explains the process and everything? - Sick af btw.

If OP doesn't have a video about it, you can check out Billet Labs. He does stuff like this a lot.

All it needs is a steam vent and this is a pretty solid Steampunk build.

I dont really care much for custom PC's, but this is unreal. Well done, just wow!

Are you waterblocks aluminum? If so you will need to increase the corrosion inhibitor. Copper aluminum mixed loops suffer from increased corrosion.

I'm with you. I appreciate the work that went into it but it's just an incoherent mess of pipes, for the sake of pipes.

I say this meant as much of a compliment as I can. This is so much. I don't know that I would be willing to live with the stress of maintaining this. Work of art.

Looks great. The waterblock looks good with the lighting, but I'd like to see something that makes it look even less like a steampunk themed PC & more like some crazy contraption that could have existed in the 1890s. All that copper is amazing for the look though, well done.

I love how in another thread someone was asking why they don’t do a solid copper build for cooling and someone said “that’d be too expensive”

Looks great but the graphic card being vertical does not poses a higher stress to the water pump? I believe it would be better if placed horizontal but it won’t achieve the same look…

You really need a bronze plaque somewhere in the front of the wooden base to complete the look. "Bills Old Timey Hooch Bar" or something.

That looks incredible, but you should get those fan guards copper or brass plated to really complete the look.
