Looks similar to a Corsair Dominator Platinum ddr3/4 stick
So uhhh, I always used that Lego piece for a GPU support since it's the perfect size. Figured why not use that instead of paying the $20 they are on Amazon.
As for the case fans with zip ties, I wanted to deshroud my card with case fans. Ran into a little issue where the card didn't detect fans and would throttle without recovering after heating up a bit.
So I plugged the stock fans back in to test, which fixed the issue. But at that point I smoked a bowl and was too lazy to put the stock shroud back on. So I just sorta left the fans there and figured I'd get back to it.
Then they brought in mandatory overtime at work and haven't had the energy to fix it, and my financial situation recently hasn't been good (got a car!) so I don't plan on spending much on PC components right now.
Honestly I was having a real bad day before I posted this, but reading some of these comments got me laughing pretty hard - so we both got something out of it at least :)
I love it. The 3 visible mismatched intake fans, the fan that looks like it isn’t even screwed in all the way, the bent GPU Heatsink, the GPU fan shroud replaced with regular fans, the fan on the GPU, the hodgepodge of fan splitters that are left empty, the lego that are not part of the GPU support but left available in case there is a GPU swap and the old support is not tall enough, whatever is the source of the red light under the GPU (could be a fan or it could be a ball of LEDs for all I know).
In the maintenance world, we call this a primary bipass, or my personal favorite it's just temporary permanent fix. Swear to God I still have repairs done this way at companies I no longer work at, and ships I haven't been in in almost 20 years with said repairs holding fast.
On the front of the case I got my 360mm acting as an exhaust. Since behind my PC I have a portable air conditioner blasting cool air, and the wall area behind my PC stays cool. So I figured I'd intake air from the back and exhaust it out the front. Which also seemed to help my GPU vram temps quite a bit at the cost of CPU temps
I dont usually comment, nor do I find technological abominations that abhorrent. However sir/madam, this is a crime, a very active crime against that gpu and anyone who has to see it. Please fix it
Need to set those fans up correctly and fix thise cables. That will resolve a lot of your issues. I'm seeing rear intake, going to assume front is also intake, then you have the top fans set up in a way so all it is doing is recirculating hot air and not actually removing it. The cables are also blocking a lot of your airflow.
I must be weird because I would never set up a PC like that even temporarily. I would have been running those fan wires into the back space of the case on installation simply so that they are not sitting in the front of the case where they can gather dust from the air flow. Now, the backside of the PC where there is no airflow...

Because yea that lego might just slip and that is awful wiring and wai, is there a slim fan on top of gpu? Why is one of the top case fans not properly mounted and ... - DO YOU HAVE FANS HELD WITH TIECLIPS ON YOUR GPU WTF?
There's an argentinian word for that, it says "held together with wire" and it's used when someone repairs something with a very temporary and usually bad fix
I mean if you have the money to keep replacing your components, that's your choice. But purposely doing this and boasting about it ain't adding inches to your dick.
