If you’re thinking of getting a place there, don’t bother. There’s really nothing available .

Do you know how big Tuscany is? It's huge. It's probably like North Dakota.
•
u/WankerBott 7h ago
lol Tuscany is about the size of New Jersey, oddly enough, there were so many 'live otherwhere' owners Italy was paying people to move to Tuscany up until mid 2024, it had to be your primary residence and some EU residency restrictions

We're moving in lock, stock and barrel. We're gonna be in the pool. We're gonna be in the clubhouse. We're gonna be all over that shuffleboard court!

Redditors can’t see other people’s success without making sure everyone knows they’re miserable.

People should keep their success to themselves. But we all know that's not why they become successful. It's to share pictures and boast and include some Dale Carnegie quote and act like they don't end up in the same ground as us. We'd all do it if we were. It's human nature. "Look at me, aren't I better than you?" Plus, it isn't misery, it's reality. The social contract is broken. There is no amount of work any of us can do to have a friggin Italian villa? Just give me a break.

He rented it bro, a vacation to Italy is not some unattainable luxury. Villas can be rented there for not much more than a hotel room.

Looks amazing!
My rich-ass brother rented a villa in Tuscany, only to find that the giant suv he rented couldn't navigate the narrow streets to get there.
A hillarious, "I'm from America" problem.
Hope your experience in Tuscany was better than his!

Dude, I live in Lucca (also in Tuscany) and our historic city center is a limited traffic zone, so only permitted drivers can drive there. It's really a walking city.
Anyway, we have this old roman amphitheater that is converted into a piazza. And right outside it, on a pretty tight street is where some dude parks his Hummer H2. I have NO idea how he gets it in and out.

Looks like Naboo

Pretty sure most Naboo scenes were indeed filmed in Italy around lake como

The sand-gets-everywhere scenes were from Como. The capital scenes were from the royal palace of Caserta near Naples. Both are quite lovely.

It was hard to leave Tuscany last summer .... especially with the villa we had. With us was a large family gathering from all over. We were referred to this villa which came with a cook.
Incredible!

How much?

I can answer this. My wife and I rented a villa in Chianti that housed us and 50 guests for 3 nights with the most beautiful pool and grounds you can imagine for something like $9,000 for our wedding a few years ago. It was an unbelievable venue ad well, look up Quercia al Poggio if you want. For the number of folks we had onsite and the insane property that is a bargain in my book.

Thanks for your help. That sounds reasonable.

u/RVAWTFBBQ 3h ago
The price was just for exclusive use of the property (we did it mid week for a lower rate), catering for both the wedding itself and the other meals onsite was a good bit extra but all in we were still less than half the cost of a “traditional” sort of wedding in the States where we live, and it was 3 days vs one night. Obviously travel and other arrangements need to be built in to it but we have 0 regrets with the choice.

Beautiful! I wish I knew about this when we were in Italy last year, but I’m sure it would’ve been out of our budget…

Tuscany is the most beautiful place I've ever been.

Tuscany was wonderful - we had a great time visiting a number of the hill towns and learning about the history.
Obviously a photographer’s dream … and then to come back to this villa and a private cook each night .. over the top!
I’m not trying to boast, just recommending a visit to Tuscany.
Pizza, pasta, wine, gelato and wonderful architecture … ALL spectacular.

We were able to do something like this (without the private chef) for our 30th birthday trip with a group of friends, it was shockingly affordable, I wanna say under $1k a night for a group of 10...
