Possible Paywall Trump Floats Obliterating Entire Nation in Chilling Fox News Call

We desperately need to revoke the AUMF from 2001 that has allowed all of these forever wars. That’s the real step we need to take.
Impeaching Trump is just as, if not slightly more, difficult and would require a super majority in the Senate and would then leave us with…JD Vance. Not exactly an improvement.
Revoking and repealing the AUMF removes authorization for use of the military takes that power away from whoever is in charge, regardless of who comes after Trump. It’s not a cure all, but it would take genuine steps toward undercutting this psychopath’s war mongering.
129
u/DadJokeBadJoke California 10d ago
then leave us with…JD Vance. Not exactly an improvement.
He may have similar ideals, but he doesn't have the cult backing or the weird thrall that Trump has over the rest of the GOP. Once Trump is gone, there will be many factions trying to claim the MAGA/GOP crown. With any luck they tear themselves down from infighting
76
u/drnuncheon 10d ago
He doesn’t have the cult backing, but he does have the backing of people with billions of dollars and a massive private surveillance infrastructure.
28
16
u/PianistPitiful5714 10d ago
The problem isn’t JD competing for President. It’s him just getting it wholesale. He’s far more beholden to his billionaire overlords. Where Trump is in it to enrich himself and is mostly interested in whatever can get himself personally more power, JD is in it to very specifically hand as much power to a group of men who will make it incredibly hard to ever reclaim.
Shit is fucked, don’t get me wrong, but Trump isn’t interested in handing power to anyone but himself. JD will absolutely hand things over to an oligarchy which will be much harder to unentrench once they’ve got it.

48
u/Common_Spinach2615 10d ago
You're right, but he does have the support of the American evangelical churches, which are a cancer on all of humanity.
Trump isn't religious. He's even said so himself.
At 0:22 he says, "I love you Christians, I'm not Christian."
Nobody ever plays that part for some reason.
He's explicitly said he's not Christian, so why do Christians worship him?
Given the history of the church and its crimes against children, you would think Christians might pause and reconsider their support for an infamous child rapist, but no, they adore him more than they love Jesus.
Maybe all Christians are just paedophiles or enablers because they love it?

As a Christian, he may as well be; that whole branch of the tree is poisoned and unless the broader Christian movement gets a clue and cuts it off and denounces them it will rot the whole tree. Look at American Catholicism; the most powerful Catholic in the country, J.D. Vance is constantly fighting with the pope. They don't seek to make their policies more Christian, they seek to make Christianity more conservative and hateful.

11
u/singhellotaku617 10d ago
That’s still not a thing, there is no way to stop elections because they don’t actually control elections, beyond that it doesn’t actually help them. If an election is not held, the seat is simply left vacant, the current holder doesn’t have their term extended.
They could refuse to leave, but that’s just a coup, they don’t need to pretend to suspend elections for that. And unless they could get a majority of states and the military on board, it’d fall apart immediately

That would probably be pretty threatening, if he hadn't just blown years of ammunition and $40+ Billion on a war with zero results. We might not be running out yet. But some of those missiles take years to make. He isn't going to accomplish anything without causing an international nuclear incident. Yes, because talk like this will discourage Iran from the continued search for a nuclear option.

The President of our “wonderful nation” has just threatened to murder 93 million people and nobody bats an eye or pays hardly any attention. WTF??

I remember my mother’s reason voting for Trump.. “We just can’t keep having all these wars! We can’t keep killing people!” I wonder what her excuse is now?

And as the US military is wiping out an entire civilization, the American people will be actively absolving their military of responsibility.
"but they just wanted money, but they were just following orders, but they joined before Trump, but they don't support Trump, but they were just innocent widdle 18 year old babies who didn't know any better, but they got tricked by the media into thinking murdering people is a good thing, but what about taxes, but what about consumer goods, b-b-but other citizens other citizens other citizens"

The right is blaming “socialism”, “open borders” and women for everything that happens, no matter what. They’re 100% convinced.

This is porn for the right, mangled bodies, and people suffering, tortured, them getting to play G.I. Joe where they get to use their weapons on the populace, it really gets the off the more sadistic they can be, and hurt more people.
Accept it, anytime you have a Republican president, you're going to war.

In no world is this acceptable. The entire Republican Party is complicit if they don’t stand him down for dementia.

The Republican House and Senate leadership need to wake up and realize the Trump needs to be removed from office. They have it within their power to impeach and remove the President.
Trump is clearly no longer mentally stable enough to remain as President. Republicans in Congress need to stand up and end thjs

Trump is clearly no longer mentally stable enough to remain as President.
He never was, not even in 2016 when he was elected president for the first time let alone the second.

Mad King Trump
was a nasty old dump,
A leering old lump
was he.
He stole from the poor
the children he lured
And set all the grifters free.

How many times does he think he can threaten to blow their house down, before they just shut the Big Bloated Wolf out??

u/purplebrown_updown 10d ago
We're at this point again? Can we just get to the point that he want to use a nuke and the military heads resign and the 25th amendment is called?

Fun fact. He said the same thing a few months ago and then backed off.
He plays for the crowd and will say anything to try to get their approval.

Yeah "floats" it. Not that he hasn't been actively doing it in both presidencies, but with particular efficiency this term.
Hell I'd go as far back to 2012 with the birther bullshit to say he's been actively working to erode this country's faith in itself for years.
