Well then the Institute better be prepared to defend itself because what he can't control he destroys

•

u/Blue_Plastic_88 6h ago

That was my immediate thought. He’s gonna say it is going to deteriorate without his name on it, so it needs to be destroyed.

•

u/Shamann93 3h ago

He's already he can save it, but won't if he doesn't get recognition

•

u/Funderpants 6h ago

Also, what he controls he destroys.

•

u/bluegrassgazer Kentucky 5h ago

Chance of being destroyed no matter the circumstances=100%

They actually did put up a fight. They locked the doors against being taken over, saying it was an illegal move. The head of the company hired to do their security, however, opened the doors. The DC Metro Police apparently just took the government at their word, and helped DOGE kick everyone out. The government then just handed over the building- which it didn't own- to the GSA. In May 2025 a Federal judge ruled the takeover illegal, and the Board and staff returned. Then an appeals court in June 2025 ruled that "The President faces irreparable harm not being able to fully exercise his executive powers", and Trump got to take back the building .

There's a timeline here though it's not up to date.

Deleted my comment because it was already stated by someone earlier. Sorry

Be it the government, other nations, the budget, a child or art centers that are memorials.

It's about to receive a lethal dose of peace.

•

u/is-this-now 4h ago

He’s already gutted the institution.

•

u/ahawk99 2h ago

Seriously. He’ll do it anyways. He doesn’t believe he can be told no🫠🫠🫠🫠

defend, or defund?

•

u/Derrickful 6h ago

Trump has Vanity Derangement Syndrome.

•

u/Omarkhayyamsnotes 5h ago

Its absolutely crazy. He's thrown the US into a recession and obliterated cryptocurrency beyond recognition. And he thinks he has done so much for us

•

u/LangyMD 4h ago

Obliterating cryptocurrency is, however, a good thing.

•

u/pjflyr13 5h ago

He done so much just for the right people. The 1%

•

u/Exostrike United Kingdom 3h ago

Sorry, don't really pay attention to the crypto but what has he done?

I remember something about a trump coin pump and dump and some exchange bailouts.

•

u/epineph 2h ago

The biggest concern about cryptocurrency from “normies” is that it will be used for fraud and criminal behavior, and exists as a Ponzi scheme.
Trump has embraced cryptocurrency so that he could use it for fraud and criminal behavior, as well as Ponzi schemes. Basically everything Elizabeth Warren has warned against.

So those of us who use crypto for reasons other than fraud and criminal behavior (or Ponzi schemes) have a real uphill battle against both sides.

•

u/Blue_Plastic_88 3h ago

Why haven't we thanked him at all? /s

•

u/Ninevehenian 5h ago

Yes and I think he has earned a look into how he will be remembered.

•

u/JonathanNMehoff Ohio 5h ago

The technical term is just Vanity Derangement, or VD for short. It’s what is causing his other brain issues. Like, tRump’s VD is turning his brain into mush.

I always thought that "Pride" was kind of a lame entry to the Seven Deadly Sins.

I don't think that any more.

•

u/themattboard Tennessee 4h ago

Pride can be seen as the root of all other sin. What I want outweighs all else

•

u/ParagonFury Vermont 4h ago

Pride is the original and deadliest sin for a reason.

And it's because it's the sin God is guilty of.

•

u/sgrams04 2h ago

Pride (as a sin) isn’t accomplishing something and feeling that sense of accomplishment. God gave us talents and gifts and being proud of what we’ve accomplished with them is fine.

Pride (as a sin) is what this motherfucker does on an hourly basis by putting himself above others at all costs for the sake of personal benefit. He also takes the Lord’s name in vein by using Him as a means to reap his own personal benefits.

He is the exact opposite of everything Jesus teaches and I cannot fathom how Christians go along with it and shower him with praise over Jesus. There has been no better argument for the Antichrist than Trump.

•

u/popculturella Texas 4h ago

He manages to embody all seven of them.

•

u/Wunderman86 1h ago

Vanity, my favorite sin! - the devil

•

u/BluWake Michigan 6h ago

LMAO, ideas running on fumes... Where would they even add it? The Trump United States Institute of Peace cause it can't be United States Trump Institute of Peace without major masonry work.

•

u/Basicly-Inevitable 6h ago

Don't worry. Trump's sons own a masonry company. They'll get it right on the 15th time, at $3million per attempt.

The Trump Unites States Institute of fifa Peace Prize Award

•

u/Komikaze06 5h ago

And I dont trust them to spell correctly either

Ie. The AI paper where it was Unites States

•

u/someg187 5h ago

You mean SI /s

•

u/fltvzn 38m ago

Sorry, SI

•

u/SirWEM 5h ago

Considering they misspelled “United States” on an EO the other day. It was spelled “Unites States”

•

u/OfficialDCShepard District Of Columbia 4h ago

At this point, I would absolutely believe they’re AI generating all executive orders. They gotta get as many out to throw out distractions and fear as possible!

President Donald Trump’s name can’t be carved into the US Institute of Peace building in Washington, a federal appeals court held.

A divided three-judge panel for US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit granted the institute’s request to block the administration from carving the name into the headquarters for the institute, an independent nonprofit created by Congress in 1984 to help the federal government mitigate violent conflicts abroad.

Judge Karen Henderson, a George H. W. Bush appointee, would have rejected the request, according to the one-page order. Judge Cornelia Pillard, a Barack Obama appointee, and Senior Judge Harry Edwards, a Jimmy Carter appointee, also sat on the panel.

It’s the latest development in a broader legal challenge to the Trump administration’s dismantling of the Institute of Peace, including by removing its president and Senate-confirmed board members.

You all wanna set up cameras on this 24x7?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Institute_of_Peace_Headquarters

He’s PARTICULARLY hung up on this building. It’s the most modern advanced building he can screw with and he sees himself as “peace monger”.

•

u/NickConrad 6h ago

•

u/evokade 5h ago

Build unto me an arch of ridiculous proportion—one billion cubits in height—that I might be remembered for all eternity. And be quick about it!

•

u/Brndrll Rhode Island 5h ago

I'm genuinely surprised Trump hasn't been in front of a camera demanding a giant fire-breathing statue of himself for his "Garden of Heroes".

•

u/AceofKnaves44 District Of Columbia 6h ago

“Well it’s just come to my attention that this building will also have to be demolished now. For national security reasons.”

•

u/Cesspoolofhumanity69 5h ago

Soon enough his name will be carved into granite and the world will rejoice.

•

u/AreYouDoneNow 6h ago

He'll do it anyway.

•

u/Jamie00003 5h ago

Christ almighty his ego

•

u/randomcanyon 1h ago

There is only one place that his name should be carved in stone. It isn't government buildings.

•

u/Eastern_Job_4746 1h ago

Brutal comment lol

Thanks.

He just needs to sign an executive order that says his name is in front of every person place or thing on the planet. Henceforth it’s just implied that his name is in front of every building every river lake stream ocean mountain range city building road street interstate. We don’t have to change any of the maps or books but his name is in front of everything all the time. Fuck.

I remember as a kid, hearing the original story of King Cnut and thinking "nobody could be that stupid." and then later in life being quite relieved to find that the story was kinda mistold.

.. Now I'm 44 and having to read about this fuckwit in the news nearly everyday and I'm wondering if the universe just has a sick sense of humour.

•

u/whydontyousuckmyball 3h ago

So he wants his name carved into the wall of an institute that he is actively dismantling? Does he really need another failed operation with his name on it?

•

u/Bodark43 West Virginia 1h ago edited 1h ago

If you've never seen the place, it sits across from the Watergate, not far from the Kennedy Center. Unlike the Kennedy Center, its functions were pretty low profile, really- lots of training sessions, conferences, with what seem to have been mostly retired diplomats.

But like the Kennedy Center, it was established by Congress, and the Congressional Act creating it intended that it be independent (you can see it here.) And more importantly, like the Kennedy Center, it's a very cool looking building, especially lit up at night. When Trump saw it, he obviously just wanted to grab it. The old Board has been fighting that, but there hasn't been the groundswell of outrage that the Kennedy Center has gotten, and it seems like their case is therefore moving much slower.

u/Nikiaf Canada 6h ago

Since when have the courts restrained him? Just watch, his name will be on there by the weekend.

•

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire 5h ago

•

u/WetFinsFine 6h ago

Oh for FFS can this asshat just please stop…srsly, this is getting so fkn bent

We do have the 25th and if there hasn’t been a need yet, like, people…c’mon

•

u/StandardGlittering48 5h ago

This will never happen because his cabinet needs him to pardon them.

•

u/jj1917 I voted 3h ago

Right, people somehow dont realize the 25th amendment is actually a higher requirement than just impeachment.

Majority of the cabinet and the Vice President have to say the President is incapable, then that removes the President temporarily. The President has a 4-day window to respond with "nah im good" , then there's another 4 day window for the VP and the cabinet to again issue a majority statement saying "nah youre not" , then that passes it to the House of Representatives where 2/3 have to agree with the VP and Cabinet, then 2/3 of the Senate.

So that adds having to have a majority of the Cabinet, and the VP, and 2/3 of the House (not just a majority) along with the existing 2/3 of the Senate for Impeachment conviction.

No chance of that ever happening, even more so than an Impeachment conviction ever will.

u/Precious_Tritium New York 5h ago

So he’s gonna carve his name in it, tear 1/3rd down and then claim it is financially floundering?

•

u/idontevensaygrace 5h ago

Okay but he will anyway. Look what happened to the Kennedy Center

•

u/jmarinara Pennsylvania 4h ago

I mean, he’ll do it anyway; but good to know.

•

u/GMEN999 4h ago

He will just do it. By the time the courts get involved it will be too late. That’s his MO.

•

u/lex99 America 3h ago

Oof, I'm hearing the US Institute of Peace is in really bad shape and probably needs to be demolished.

•

u/Blue_Plastic_88 3h ago

According to the article, he's already bolted his name to the building, "The Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace," but he doesn't like the removable lettering (I assume because of the Kennedy Center happenings) and wants to carve his name into it.

•

u/fluffyflugel 2h ago

Embarrassing. What a loathsome turd.

•

u/New_Ad3443 1h ago

The only thing Trump needs to put his name on is a portapotty that is never cleaned.

•

u/Bajadasaurus 20m ago

He already installed lettering with his name on the building itself and on an outer wall. Getty Images

•

u/Coleman19 11m ago

From the man that brought you the Department of War

•

u/forthewatch39 6h ago

Let the baby have his bottle and rip his name off at 12:01 on January 20th when his term has officially ended. Easier to do that than to have to build another one when he destroys it for not getting his way.

•

u/MissionCreeper 5h ago

I'm almost ok with bringing back indentured servitude at this point, force the MAGAts to rebuild everything he destroys

While DoJ is spending all this time helping the tyrant put his stink all over government landmarks, who is prosecuting, y'know, crime?

u/Sour_baboo 6h ago

Can we use "state's rights* to rename Trump? Something like "The person formerly known as DJT"?

•

u/Automaton_General 5h ago

He is too old to rape children now so he has decided he will rape buildings.

The fact that they're telling him no and he's doing it anyway is what is getting him off.

•

u/hamiltd3 5h ago

I guess the peace building is the next place he's going to tear down
