Pretty telling he only wanted them for his own self interest and not the interest of we the people.

Normal people have known this for at least 10 years. The cult will never care.

•

u/horst-graben 3h ago

Yep... I've never hated an opposing American view point so much that I'd want someone like Trump in a position of power just to get back at them.

Forget Trump's policies for a moment and just look at the human. He's a disgusting specimen. That alone should be sufficient.

•

u/chipmunksocute 3h ago

I get all the reasons assholes might like Trump - racism, hate, white supremacy, whatever - but hes SUCH a piece of shit Ill never understand it.  He genuinely has no redeeming qualities as a person, hw embodies almost every negative personality trait imaginable.

•

u/R2-D2Vandelay I voted 3h ago

And on top of that, Trump genuinely doesn't give a fuck about his followers. They served him a purpose already and now he's just doing whatever he wants while they are all suffering the consequences.

And yet his sheep will wear “Trump 2028” flags as they fail to make their next month’s rent payment, have to skip their next trip to the rising gas costs, and struggle to feed their children nutritional meals to skyrocketing food prices. Since 2016, it blows my mind how his cult followers vote against their own self interests.

It’s wild. He’s stupid, he’s insecure, he’s lazy, he’s impulsive, he’s a compulsive liar, he’s tacky, he’s vulgar, he’s petty, he’s incapable of analysis or reflection, he is the most uniquely self-centered and self-interested person on the planet, and he’s even an incompetent manager and bad with money. Political positions aside, it’s hard to imagine someone with worse personal character.

•

u/VanceKelley Canada 1h ago

He embodies each of the 7 Deadly Sins.

  • Pride

All these years on Ive accepted it's genuinely a cult but still...fucking crazy they support him even after the endless ways he keeps fucking over his supporters.  But thats a cult for ya I suppose.  No one wants to admit they got conned.

•

u/Half_Cent 1h ago

My fundamentalist in-laws believe he's born again and been chosen by God. There is literally nothing anyone can do that will convince them otherwise.

Their nomination was to repay debts to those who helped put him in office. This was the deal he made with the zealots who branded him as a man of faith.

•

u/Competitive_Plate694 3h ago

He completed the 50 year long sole mission of the American Evangelical right: put enough justices on the bench willing to overturn Roe V Wade and allow abortion to be criminalized again. He has served his purpose and now they do not give a single fuck about him.

They have continued to give him support because he continues to at least attempt to forward their Christofascist agenda but the second he's no longer useful (for example: if Democrats take back control of Congress) they will discard him in a heartbeat and line up behind their next Great White Hope.

•

u/DoesntMatterBrian Texas 3h ago

I used to think that anti-establishment candidates were the way to go.

But obviously businessmen are not the way to go. We need institutionalists who believe in the laws that bind our society together, not people who strong-armed their way through real estate deals or politicked their way to the top of a corporate ladder.

•

u/SirDiego Minnesota 3h ago edited 3h ago

In some cases "outsiders" can make for good politicians, but the obsession with it is crazy to me. There's no real reason to believe that someone who was never in politics will suddenly be good at politics. They may have a few fresh ideas sometimes as a counterbalance but like a lot of politics is just boring routine shit: writing bills, understanding how laws work, etc.

Like, people don't really have a great generic opinion on lawyers either but we still typically understand that lawyers are the people who need to do that job. Most people aren't going and hiring a professional athlete with no legal experience to represent them just to shake things up and offer fresh insight to the justice system.

•

u/TeutonJon78 America 3h ago

The difference is most people want an outsider leader who hires and listens to experts to help realize those new ideas.

Trump is an idiot and a crook who hires more idiots and crooks to those positions. Which just means general incompetence and chaos.

Even if someone with bad advisors go in, there was the huge backstop of professionals at all the agencies to make sure the actual work still got done. But again, Trump, the GOP, and Project 2025 have all worked to dismantle that safety net as well.

And so we see everything America built for 250 years crumbling in just a few short ones.

•

He only “wanted” and nominated them because his bosses put their names on a list. They have their own agenda, and these three are doing their best to advance it.

The problem with Trump here is that somewhere along the line he forgot he was PUT into power by others.  He really does seem to believe his mad fantasy that he’s in charge.

TRUMP, not the Heritage flunkies, is the one constantly going off-script.

•

u/LinkedGaming 3h ago

He pushes and pushes and pushes and pushes until eventually it's your neck on the chopping block and he expects you to just take the axe and if you finally chicken out he threatens you and removes you. No matter when, no matter who, no matter why, no matter how, he will "test" your loyalty by pushing you to commit further and further extremes in his name because the man is evil and has no conscious and believes that anything he wants he should get and that anything in his way should just be mowed over and tossed to the side, preferring violence because he relishes in the idea that people are suffering because of him.

Leavitt learned this the hard way when he kept pushing her and pushing her and pushing her until one day she had a kid and suddenly the dear leader started threatening her because he got jealous and considered the child getting attention from its mother to be tantamount to betrayal of Trump. As retribution for the "disloyalty" of caring for her infant child, he stuck her on a plane that he was 100% aware and potentially expecting to get shot down by a hostile military force that he provoked without adequate preparation to handle the incoming retaliation in the hopes of taking her out as a martyr he could use to further his agenda of cruelty.

Nobody is safe. Not Elon, not Thiel, not Hegseth, no Kash. He has no puppet masters beyond maybe Putin, but even if you think you have control of him he will find a way to arrange your "removal". Epstein thought he had control of Trump, admitted in his emails that he was wrong, and is now buried six feet under with a broken neck.

Trump's life is a revolving door of people being pushed to prove loyalty by committing eviler and eviler acts in his name until they either get cold feet and are "removed" due to their newfound inconvenience, or face punishment for the deeds they've done in his name and are quickly discarded one again due to their newfound inconvenience or lack of use, only for the next person in the totem pole to become his new torture doll.

“They voted against me too often,” the president continued. “I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often.

He actually believes they owe him political favors for nominating them, like a mob boss. This hole is trying to politicized everything.

He has no idea what laws are for, why there are three branches of government, etc. etc.

He's an American democracy wrecking ball and it's amazing to see him literally say these things out loud... and there are still people that advocate for this pile.

•

u/Obant California 3h ago

It used to be a huge thing to even consider the Supreme Court Justices politcal. Like, we all knew they were, but they did quite a lot to have the appearance of neutral in the past, and if a president ever even suggested like Trump has, there would have been hellfire.

•

u/guamisc 2h ago

I almost like it this way better.

Now the Democrats have no excuse to not fix it like they haven't for decades.

•

u/Own-Coyote-3618 3h ago

Really the president is just supposed to throw a name in the hat, congress appoints supreme court justices.

•

u/socokid 3h ago

That's how it's supposed to happen. Yes. But the GOP congress has removed themselves as a second branch of government and treat Donald as the king that simply gives them orders, and Donald will go way, way out of his way to try and harm anyone that doesn't do what he says.

•

u/GeologistOriginal800 3h ago

•

•

u/Kenan_as_SteveHarvey 4h ago

That’s literally what he said in the interview: “They voted against me too often.”

•

u/manachar Nevada 3h ago

If I had loads of money I would create a giant ad campaign that is very simply provable facts about Trump. Nationwide, online, in print, on TV, and especially billboards.

"Donald J. Trump is a fascist".

"Donald J. Trump is a felon"

"Donald J. Trump is a rapist".

The point is make these simple and true statements so big they cannot be ignored.

Should Trump be so enraged as to sue for defamation/libel then lawyers would be ready.

These words are all true, and media should be comfortable to have headlines that say these things. They are verifiably true.

Saying that Supreme Court Justices are supposed to "vote with the President who nominated them" is the standard fascist playbook.

I think just about every world expert is clear that Trump's actions are constantly fascist. The exact wording may need to adjust based on legal advice, but the very fact that we have so many people so afraid of saying a true but negative thing about the president should bring shame on our nation.

Our nation may not have been perfect, but presidents didn't use to sue people to bully them to shut up.

•

u/aardvarkjedi 3h ago

Notice that Trump has never sued anyone for calling him a pedophile? Even his usual tactic of suing and then getting a quick settlement or dropping the suit right before discovery hasn’t happened here. He knows that all will be revealed, and he can’t risk that.

•

u/manachar Nevada 2h ago

I wonder if there just hasn't been a high-profile situation where someone claims it publicly. Can you think of an example that has?

While I believe it likely, even I don't believe there's enough evidence to put that on a billboard. Which is a pity, because the photo of Epstein and Trump with the words "Donald J. Trump is a pedophile" would be a very provocative billboard.

every hanger-on should see this shit -- even the supreme court, which has handed trump pretty much everything he wants on a silver platter, is expendable. everyone and everything can and will be thrown under the bus when their value has been totally extracted there is literally no exception to that rule. 110% loyalty or start counting down the days when trump inevitably turns on you. wish they could realize that sooner or later but most trumpers left are the people who can't even put their pants on the right direction when they wake up in the morning, let alone admit a mistake.

•

u/Mudsharkbites 3h ago

Good lord, they weren’t fascist enough for him.

•

u/binocular_gems 3h ago edited 3h ago

We all know it by now, but Trump just continually spells it out for anybody who doubts.

“I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often. They vote for me too.”

Trump, of course, insists that Supreme Court justices aren't there to interpret the Constitution or measure whether our laws are Constitutional or not, they're specifically appointed to work for Trump, personally. Trump sees being appointed to the Supreme Court as a favor that justices are supposed to pay back in personal favors to Trump.

Democrats must win the Senate in 2026, and they must unanimously oppose every other potential nominee, because we know that Trump is going to nominate a complete sycophant who does Trump's personal bidding.

•

u/mantecablues 3h ago

It’s this. Even if they were the sole reason he won the 2024 election, he would still have turned against them because they don’t give him everything he wants 100% of the time. People want to make this out to be more complex than it is, when it’s actually very simple. Do something Trump does not like - you are bad. Do something Trump likes - you are good. Repeat for every action you take. Every single opinion he has on people is based on this reasoning. For example, he’s cool with Kim Jong Un having nukes, solely because he likes the authoritarian leader.

•

u/pontiacfirebird92 Mississippi 3h ago

He might not. But the people in Trump's orbit sure do love them. They're protecting and enabling the largest fraud and grift the US government has ever seen in the history of the nation. People protect Trump because his bullshit is making them shitloads of money. And that's our money they're raking in and partying with. And I doubt Trump really cares as well because this SCOTUS literally kept him out of jail. They even allowed him on the ballot in Colorado when they tried to strike his name from it for being a felon and a traitorous pig.

Turns out if people think they can get money from you or because of you that you are functionally immune from the law. Trump's whole administration is money making scheme for him and his cronies. A smash and grab on the United States of America. And they have no loyalty to this nation whatsoever. Only money.

I guess 99% loyalty isn't good enough. A sampling of the awful rulings: overturning Roe v Wade, greenlighting Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression, declaring Trump practically immune from criminal activity, allowing nearly free reign for the executive branch to skip Congress and dismantle agencies. Their one significant ruling against his regime was striking down some tariffs (Kavanaugh actually dissented), a ruling which kept inflation lower and the economy not as bad as it would have been had that level of tariffs remained in place. They saved him from himself.

Fake.

He’s pretending they aren’t loyal enough to give them cover for the fact that they are dismantling the constitution to allow Trump to do whatever he wants.

Hey, something me and trump agree on

Shocking

•

u/MonsieurReynard America 3h ago

Oh well, then maybe they’ll lick his boots harder to make him like them more again

•

u/Korzag 3h ago

Yeah he appointed them in his first term when he had people around him who had at least a little qualification. His judges may still be awful choices but theyre no where near the shitstains Roberts and Alito are.

•

u/DlucinatedHlucinatic 3h ago

We regret him.

•

u/StrengthFew9197 Texas 3h ago

I also regret him nominating them, or anyone for that matter.

•

u/tubulerz1 3h ago

Trump didn’t even choose them. MosCOW Mitch did.

•

u/DroopyTers 3h ago

If Trump gets to nominate more supreme justices, think about how absolutely insane they will be. And it is guaranteed that almost every Republican senator will vote to confirm them and almost every Democratic senator will vote against them. It’s why I cannot get on board with the “both parties are the same” schtick. The two parties nominate and confirm wildly different Supreme Court justices.

•

u/PathosEatsLogos 2h ago

Next nomination will be a member of the Trump family

In regard to his comment about Obama and Biden not having many issues with SCOTUS. Well could that be that they did not run to high court with a ridiculous ask and expect to win.

•

u/coolbreeze85 3h ago

Ironically 2 non-trump appointees blindly follow his bidding.

•

u/RustedRelics 3h ago

We do too. But nothing compares to The Thomas and Alito Freak Show.

•

u/hasslehof 3h ago

We do, too.

•

u/s_ox 3h ago

They should make their rulings truly worth these words from Trump.

•

u/codacoda74 3h ago

Hey buddy, look at that we agree on something!

•

u/CaptainOblivious1984 3h ago

He could just fire them, according to SC rulings he can do whatever he wants.

•

u/Hobo_Knife 4h ago

Oh, I’m sure he regrets the unchecked power they’ve granted him under the guise of serving the nation. I hate it here.

•

u/rollem Virginia 4h ago

He'd be in jail right now if it weren't for them.

•

u/Smedley_Beamish 3h ago

I'd say at least half the country regrets it, too.

•

u/minionofjoy 3h ago

We regret it too you orange fuck

•

u/shoppingfortruth 3h ago

Is the ‘Man Baby’ having a fit that they are not being his obedient puppets?!?

•

u/ElectrOPurist 3h ago

If I nominated three Supreme Court justices and regretted them all, I’d probably want to no longer go on living. That’s something he could consider.

•

u/blackroseyagami 3h ago

Ey!!! Finallly something we agree on with Trump!

•

u/Jokerang Texas 3h ago

Only because he picked party hacks that put the needs of the entire party first and not loyalists that answer only to him.

•

u/StrengthFew9197 Texas 3h ago

He expects 100% loyalty to him, not our country, constitution, or citizens, just him. I don’t understand how that’s not scary to every single voter in this country.

•

u/SapientTrashFire 3h ago

He had originally planned to nominate three daleks, but they pulled their endorsement from Trump, saying "I mean we're the daleks, but what the fuck is this shit?"

•

u/midwestia 3h ago

"they vote against me too often"

mofo, it's not a vote, its a ruling/opinion backed up by law. and they're not a political branch of the government. it's our judiciary. this dumbass just loves saying the quiet part out loud.

•

u/Neo1331 3h ago

77 million people voted for this… remember that…

•

u/blackmobius 1h ago

Three justices that would/should have been done by Obama Hillary and Hillary. You can fully thank McConnell for all of this and all the rights they (the scotus) destroyed in the process.

•

u/dallasdude 3h ago

We all regret it. They made him king and then enabled his worst impulses.

u/entropy14 4h ago

Trump didn’t nominate Kavanaugh, Jeffrey Epstein did

•

u/Ray-Finkle74 4h ago

He appointed three Federalist Society approved justices and is now mad that they don’t directly work for him and only him.

Lmao!!

•

u/DoctorGoodleg 3h ago

Cool. Something the president and I finally agree on. My estranged MAGA family will love it.

•

u/Sure_Nefariousness56 3h ago

What a surprise! They are not working over time to make him wealthy.

•

u/RadiantReflexion 3h ago

We tried to tell him they sucked, but did he listen?

•

u/themattboard Tennessee 3h ago

MAGATs will never realize he will never love them. There is no one he will not betray and discard.

•

u/intelligentx5 3h ago

They have to follow the constitution lmao.

•

u/heloder85 3h ago

Hopefully this at least sours Trump in their eyes and they intentionally vote against all of his interests moving forward

•

u/Particular_Ticket_20 3h ago

He should've nominated Rudy G, Don Jr and Eric.

Thats really what he wanted, a cheerleader squad, not scotus justices.

Heritage and Federalist society must just be laughing at him. They got their judges, he thought they were his judges.

•

u/PorgCT 3h ago

•

u/luv2ctheworld 3h ago

Never satisfied... just consumes everything and leaves a mess.

•

u/WraithSama Kansas 3h ago

Just say what you mean. You wanted a rubber stamp that would always rule in your favor because they "owe you" for nominating them.

•

u/peaceful_pancakes 2h ago

Me too. But for different reasons.

•

u/PistisDeKrisis 2h ago

None of this is surprising. He said during his 2024 campaign;

"My biggest problem in my first term was allowing people to say 'No' to me. I won't let that to happen again."

When Red Hats try to argue that he's not authoritarian, I just pull up that quote. It's a clear demand for absolute authority. This is completely ignoring the fact that from Federal Government, to Regulation and Safety agencies, to the Judicial system to Military Leadership, he's demanding a Loyalty Test or firing people.

•

u/SHUT_DOWN_EVERYTHING 1h ago

The reason his first term was nowhere as disastrous and extreme as his second was he was afraid of consequences.

When Robert Mueller was appointed as special council, he thought it's game over.

That fear led him to trust traditional conservative advisors that still to a great extent operated within norms and resisted Trump's urges telling him "That's illegal". For his judicial appointments, he basically rubber stamped Federalist Society recommendations. They are right wing but do have some degree of adherence to the constitution. For his cabinet he got advice from GOP leadership like McConnell. Again, right wing but not complete psychos which is why he butted heads with them regularly and fired quite a few over the next 4 years.

Then 3 things happened:

  • Project 2025 (basically Vought) understood this and changed the plan. Don't consult the lawyers or experts on legality or norms. Do whatever you want no matter how illegal and let the courts stop you.
  • Trump learned there are no consequences even after getting his goons to ransack the Capitol. GOP Senators will stand with him no matter what so he will never be removed from the office.
  • Supreme Court made the weird 'official acts immunity' ruling. This told Trump that he won't face consequences before or after his term. He's completely immune.

The trifecta is what led to the extreme executive branch we see today. If he went back in time he would appoint Giuliani types and completely tear down another mostly broken institution.

Believe it or not, the whole planet was very lucky he was afraid his first term.

•

u/Roffotron 4h ago

Did...did he forget the bit where they're in those positions for life...and that once they were in he had no further leverage?

Yeah and a lot of people regret electing him. So he can go lick a butthole.

u/e_subvaria Minnesota 4h ago

They are only mostly “yes men” which is not good enough

•

u/Latter-Leg4035 4h ago

Well, America regrets choosing Trump, so there's that.

•

u/citizenjones 3h ago

Satisfaction is not allowed. It gives up their most important asset which is selling grievance. The purity test will only get more strict because at the end of the day this is fundamental extremism and this is how they consolidate power.

•

u/DrunkAndHornyGuy 3h ago

He's mad their loyalty is to the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation's goals and not to him personally.

•

u/JoeChio 3h ago

Trump is a fucking idiot. Hate these judges all you want but they are not stupid at all. They understand their tenure is going to outlast Trump and his idiotic movement.

•

u/yoshi8869 Indiana 3h ago

He’s upset about the separation of powers and the checks and balances that exist in our form of government. He’s frustrated that he can’t behave as an authoritarian.

•

u/omeow 3h ago

Since he can't do anything right, he must be super dumb

•

u/aldesuda 3h ago

So do we, Donnie. So do we.

•

u/RocMerc 3h ago

The next one will prolly be Elon musk

•

u/St3lla_0nR3dd1t 3h ago

As always Trump regrets what he promised to do.

•

u/tommm3864 3h ago

So does most of America...

•

u/CaptainAwesome06 3h ago

This isn't surprising. These judges were appointed during Trump 1.0, when he was still being coached by established Republicans who pushed Federalist Society candidates. That's how we got a guy like Trump paired with a guy like Pence.

In Trump 2.0, he cleaned house, went scorched Earth, and is unincumbered by what established Republicans want, which is why he seems so much worse and much more stupid.

•

u/bsep4 3h ago

One would hope that makes them LESS prone to helping him.

I too regret that Donald. It must be noon or midnight.

•

u/Justanotherbrick2022 3h ago

He should just issue an executive order to fire all three of them.

•

u/Irvineknight 3h ago

Yeah we regret it too.

•

u/Dramatic-Emphasis-43 3h ago

I wonder how it must feel to have achieved one of the highest positions in the land, someone trusted by your countrymen to make the really important decisions and you find out your appointment was only because you were expected to be a stooge. Like, it’s not because you were the best for the job or because you were respected within your career, but just because you were expected to be spineless and weak in the face of authoritarianism.

That would be soul crushing and I’d resign once that authoritarian is out of power and spend the rest of my life making it right.

•

u/skittlebog 2h ago

HE chose no one. They were all chosen and vetted by Federalist Society. The Heritage Society may have had some input as well.

•

u/StreetofChimes Louisiana 1h ago

I regret him nominating them too. Damn. We have something in common.

•

u/JJscribbles Florida 1h ago

It tells you everything you need to know about the shelf life of Trump’s loyalty and why those judges were nominated in the first place.

The instant he didn’t get the outcomes he expected after securing their appointments, they’re burned.

•

u/Pal_Smurch Arizona 1h ago

But they were the most fascist judges available.

•

u/GuitarGeezer 1h ago

Dictator angry that humans arent machines again.

Americans are never going to be able to run a country ever again. Worst self-defeating in history to have gone from the wealthiest and most powerful country in history to this in just decades.

•

u/Hector_P_Catt 1h ago

Hey, finally something I can agree with him on! WooHoo!

•

u/Tyron_black_gear 1h ago

I like this quote: “His own self-interest and not the interest of we the people”

•

u/Kozmic_River 1h ago

Trump admitting his regret stemming from them not siding with him enough should be more of a focus than it is. That would be career ending for literally any other president, but it’s just a footnote in Trump’s flooded zone of shit.

•

u/iiiiiiiiiijjjjjj 49m ago

Just watch just watch how many conservatives are going to back pedal that they supported Trump once he’s out of office. Cowards with no spines

•

u/ChefCurryYumYum 42m ago

He literally thinks because he nominated them that they should rubber stamp everything he does.
