I was definitely expecting some over produced slop that was brought to me by Draftkings. But he built a very detailed world over 12 years playing with his kids. It was neat, vulnerable video.

I'm really glad he's not only sharing it, but sharing the story behind it. It's really sweet that he got into it as a way to bond with his kids, then find so much comfort in it over the years.
Just makes him seem a lot more human.

Our friends and family have a realm, we have stuff on it from when my kiddo and his friend were 4-5. Now he’s building guardian statues and red stone machines from scratch. It’s so cool to watch the evolution over time.

Make sure you download and archive that world like you would important photographs. Realms are notoriously flakey.

Listening to him talk about the design influence, loving aquariums, lighting, that was all real refreshing. That's the kind of thing that goes into some of these builds, be it Minecraft/Valheim/whatever. It's always a blast to hear the backstory/justification for why somebody did something a certain way. And his attention to detail was incredible.

Now that Mike Tomlin has shared his Minecraft world, can we please get a James Harrison FF7 (original, not the stupid remake) playthrough on Youtube?

Man I really wanted to make fun of him but this is like when your kid shows you something really shitty they made and you are still proud.

Why so eager to make fun of someone? You're just outing yourself as a dick

It's not shitty though. Dude is into architecture and so built a city with features he likes. He said he started playing because his kids were playing (sounds like a good father) and continued because he realised he could create something that he wouldn't be able to in real life.
What's your snark all about?

You were going to dunk on someone wildly more successful than you for being a good dad?
Maybe do some self reflection, you’re broken.

He can be wildly more successful than me and I can still have an opinion that he made an ugly Minecraft world; they aren’t mutually exclusive things.

What’s it like being so bitter in life? Is it lonely? Do people avoid being around you because you constantly bring an aura of misery around? I’ll be praying for you kiddo.

Wow y’all are big mad because I didn’t find some famous guys minecraft server pretty. Is that really what you are insulting me about, having a different opinion than you? I’ll be praying for you too, sport

That's almost the weirdest part about your weird take; that you would look at what he made and think it's not very good. You must be that one guy in the "9 out of 10 dentists recommend toothpaste," who is like, "no! you must use gravel!1!"

Not to be outdone, Mike McCarthy recently shared an amusement park he built on Roller Coaster Tycoon that’s just three cotton candy stands and a chairlift to nowhere.
