Ah. Gotta love how openly scummy people are these days.

They've always been. Same shit was happening back when Google tried it with Google glass like 10 years ago. It eventually died off because no one wanted to hang out with people who could be recording you without your knowledge at any given moment

That's what I call hypocrites who live in glass houses while throwing stones at others.

Eh... we're all hypocrites about something. That's just the human condition

Speak for yourself and the rest of humanity. Leave me out of that one.

I too am the special exception to an otherwise universal rule!

I'm not seeing a golden halo, golden armor, or a thunder claw... so I'm going to assume you're just as fallible as the rest of us.

So you just make assumptions whilst having never met or known me?

Fuck you.

How was I so wrong as to reject your obvious majesty? πŸ™„

Unfortunately society is not pushing back as hard on these. I think it's twofold: people have been more exposed to cameras being everywhere compared to 2013, and these Meta glasses aren't nearly as stupid looking. Meta and Ray Bands are pushing these things fucking hard with much higher production volumes than Google Glass. They're gradually spreading everywhere. They just have to weather this storm of weak push back from society for a couple years, then they will be everywhere. We're screwed.

I just wish these companies would stop focusing on putting a fucken camera in it. I hell love the idea of a HUD IRL but I'd rather sit on a cactus than hang out with someone (or myself) wearing Pervertron 5000s

Even worse, Meta fixed this issue much more effectively.. with a software update. 🀦

It was always going to be the inevitable outcome when you don't regulate something that should likely be illegal in the first place. They really need to make huge examples out of anyone who gets caught recording in places where there's a reasonable expectation of privacy. But something tells me that will never happen either.
