The problem is that pretty much almost every organisation and individual refuses to take part in preparing the lethal injections, as, funnily enough, it's actually broadly illegal to make pharmaceutical products with the intent of killing people.
So the government has to lie to whoever they are buying it from that it's for something else. So the government receives injections that are safe and won't kill anyone. But then the government needs to find people and convince them to make it lethal, but they also can't actually tell people to make it lethal, as pretty much anyone who knows what they are doing would lose their medical license if they did it. As funny enough compounding pharmacies are tightly regulated who would have guessed.
So these lethal injections have to be prepared by people who don't know what they are doing and have extremely low ethical standards to both practice compounding pharmacy without a license and do so to kill people. So you end up with non-lethal injections that have been successfully made idiot-proof, and the stooges are unable to make them lethal, so people survive all the time. So the whole thing is just a circus.
Keep in mind all the government would need to actually do is flood the room with N2, and people would peacefully pass in their sleep. But laws and regulations about stopping people from dying get in the way of people dying, funnily enough, forcing the government into the circus of lethal injections.
So I have a resistance to opioids that is legendary among my doctors. I got a port put in for treatment, and if the local hadn't worked, I would have felt everything. I asked the nurse if I'd gotten the meds, yet, and she panicked.
It was 3x the dose of fentanyl (150mcg) and Versed (12mg), because we'd planned on waking anesthesia. I did not expect to be completely lucid.
It's entirely possible that she has a similar resistance as a redhead.
Ridiculous that in 2026 people are still repeating that stupid "joke", grow up. Say another minority doesn't have a soul and realize how much you sound like a dehumanizing bigot/Mormon talking about black people
I have hEDS and ME (aka CFS), and I found out that my complete lack of response to opioids is made worse because of the ME - I had no idea until a month ago, though my resistance has always been high.
I woke up during my wisdom tooth removal, which was a shock to everyone. The anesthesia from my hysterectomy wore off before they even had my pain relief ready, and I spent over 30 minutes being wheeled around post-op and being told by one particular nurse that I was being dramatic. I threw up on her, though I don't remember, thankfully.
I had to have a tooth pulled 3 years ago, and the dentist numbed up the side of my face to the point I couldn't close my left eye because I couldn't feel my eyelids 😂 I liked him.
THC still works, but I'm stuck with Tylenol and Aleve for everything that could use some help so I can exist without wincing and having people think I'm upset or worried all the time.
Yea my partner is redhead and has massive resistance to anything numbing like anaesthesia or numbing cream when she’s having injections for whatever reason. I didn’t know it was a thing but it clearly is and moves onto many other drugs she has resistance to as well. Crazy
I also have an ungodly tolerance to opiods and downers in general. 3x sounds like a low dose lmao. For propronalol and similar drugs Im mostly alright although there are days where it refuses to work. Lidocaine and similar also dont work some days. Not sure what the chemistry is thats doing this, but its wild. Im not BP or I dont think I am. I heard meds can work differently in either state.
150mcg is as large a dose as they were comfortable giving me. That's a really large dose, especially for me to be completely awake and alert. The muscle relaxer didn't even work. I was okay sitting there, thankfully. I can't imagine if I had a phobia of some sort, because hearing everything was the worst part lol.
I like to play "can I finish this song" when being put under for surgery. It's partly to let them know I need more to be knocked out. It's effective. I hate that I know that.
I've had surgery once (for which I needed to be put under). Got to speak to the anesthesiologist prior when he came over just beforehand to say hello and talk about what was going to happen. I asked whether it was true that I was likely to be resistant to the drug, and he looked at me like I had two heads and said "no". I was a little worried because all I have literally heard throughout my life is that redheads need more anesthesia, but I assumed that the guy knew what he was talking about and I had just heard an urban legend.
Come to the actual surgery, they stick the line in me to deliver the drug and also give me a mask to take breaths out of. They look at me expectedly after a bit and ask "How do you feel?" and I just say "I'm still here" which makes all the staff I can see in the room suddenly perk up and look at each other like "what the fuck". They ask me to count down from 10 which I manage (though I am feeling very drowsy).
At this point what exactly happened is blurry but I just remember there being some whispers behind me - can't be sure it was whispers, don't even know if it was about me or they were expecting this and it was all in hand - but I remember panicking a little and thinking "that fucker was wrong! How did he not know this was going to be a thing!!"
They give me more of the drug and hand me the mask again, then ask me to count down from 10 once more, and this is the one I don't remember completing.
I'm not a ginger but I also have a ridiculously high tolerance to opioids. No port like you but a lot of surprised medical staff in my hospital visits lol
I needed surgery for cancer and shocked the doctor with how much of the prep time and start of surgery I remembered. I innocently asked about things I saw in the operating room I was wheeled into and how I was positioned at the start of the surgery and he said I should have had no awareness of any of that time. Maybe had something to do with my experience with a wide variety, and large quantities of, "mood elevators" and "mind expanders" in the 70s - 90s.
So, I'm not ginger, but I got given oral morphine following a broken leg and surgery but it did nothing for me. I didn't know opioid resistance was a thing?
Yeah, it SUCKS. I've had to go to the ER for pain, and have been offered lortab. I told them last time not to bother, and they gave each other the look. I had to quickly say that no opioids work, so there's no point.
It doesn't work, either 😠It's like the worst superpower ever.
I don't even go to the ER for pain anymore, unless I really hurt myself and need to make sure nothing is broken or whatever. And local is all that works, so as you can imagine, I just don't get adequate pain relief.
I take 2 grams of Tylenol and 440mg of Aleve everyday. It's the safest route I have, and it doesn't really work. Toradol just nauseates me. I've been sick for so long that we've run the gamut, and everyone is just as confused as I am but they're not nearly as upset as I am.
Good point, but they weren't trying to kill you. If they just gave someone a 100x dose for example, that would do it no question. Not like they are trying to dial it in just perfectly to save some bucks. Or maybe they are? But I'd think they could just push an elephant-lethal dose and call it day
I discovered I have a similar ridiculously high tolerance when I broke my arm in the 8th grade. the nurse couldn’t believe it when she gave me the drugs that were supposed to knock me out and I was still awake after giving me the injection in my iv after the 3rd injection it seemed like half the staff was in my room because they couldn’t believe a 13 year old kid was completely unfazed by stuff that knocks most people flat in a few minutes. Then they got a lil freaked out after the 4th shot still didn’t put me out and they made my parents sign a few extra waivers before they would give me the fifth shot that finally put me down.
Toradol. Ask for toradol. Not great for procedures, but if you are in the ER they will give it to you and it helps with pain. For a procedure ask if they can include propofol, because then you won't remember it.
Even after warning the anesthesiologist before my last surgery (and getting advance permission for more drugs) the nurse in recovery was wide eyed telling me she never gave so much before. And she was late middle aged. It was the first time I haven't been screaming in agony in recovery, it was nice. But I do wonder how much was just the toradol I asked them to preload me with.
Unfortunately you can't use this method in the ER because they assume you want more narcotics to get high.
The state has tons of confiscated fent and heroin. Anybody could give a lethal dose. Pro-death people do not want the possibility that the condemned might get pleasure from the execution.
Funny enough, even though the slightest perceived exposure sends cops into fits, and the news reports a baggie of it could kill Ohio, it still takes a lot of fentanyl to reliably kill a human, and it has to go into a vein.

You don't survive lethal injections. The injections turn out to not be lethal.
