We got new crimes before GTA 6
81
u/govunah 1h ago
Imagine if gta starts to minority report you. It spawns a motorcycle when I'm not on a mission or seeming to do anything and just give me the wanted level too
33
7
u/RandomWordCombo9632 1h ago
That's more a bait car level tactic.
Though apparantly GTA6 has a bit more of a nuanced Wanted system instead of just regular stars. Now cops can put out a BOLO on what you're wearing, what car you were driving, etc.

KIDNAPPING? I’m pretty sure a camera can’t be kidnapped. Who’s excited for de-flock-oween this year!
30
u/jcoddinc 1h ago
The company request a higher charge in hopes of turning others away from touching their stuff. Kidnapping is a much more serious crime

Yup! A lateral move with 10,000x the workload. Welcome to corporate America!

u/Flakester 7m ago
Yeah, kidnapping and waterboarding. Because you need to use these kind of terms if you're going to paint him as a domestic terrorist and charge this guy to the fullest extent of the law.
It's just theft for any other camera, but when you're messing with the defense system of the kleptocracy, they're going to make sure you do decades.

I saw this on an IG reel.
The comments were full of AI related slurs.
And regular slurs ofc.

Can it be a slur if it’s not sentient or alive?
3
u/RoyalJellyKing 54m ago
Yes, if your goal is to offend and disrespect the concept, even though the identity is not really there.
1
u/Olliegreen__ 22m ago
Oh that’s ABSOLUTELY the goal! But it’s not bad or unethical whatsoever so I don’t see it as an actual slur since it’s meant to dehumanize. Which isn’t possible on something not human.
6
u/Creepy-Ant373 1h ago
A slur is a deragatory term specifically directed at a PERSON. This nitwit either is using words he doesn't know the meaning or he thinks LLMs are people lmfao
20
u/emceegyver 1h ago
The slurs can refer to people who use AI, like cogsucker

Honestly wonder how effective this would be at a strategy of flooding their database with false information
11
u/IonizedHydration 39m ago
like just taking small solar powered displays that randomize license plates and hanging it front of every flock camera.. their cloud storage bill would go through the roof
2
u/imdacki 18m ago
Wouldnt that just lead to more datacenters tho?
8
u/IonizedHydration 17m ago
i'd rather pollute their data and skyrocket their bill, datacenters aren't going away unfortunately but we can work on making flock go away! Silver linings and all
1
u/imdacki 15m ago
Honestly by the looks of it i doubt those flock cams are going away either, man i hate this timeline
1
1
u/FarplaneDragon 5m ago
Not really. Anything that shows enough plates to do that is going to stand out and would be easy enough to just toss out those scans until they have someone go to the camera and remove it
1
u/defaulticus 4m ago
This is a fun idea but realistically they'd probably just add a line of code to the license plate recognition software that rejects any plate read within 1 second of another or something like that, and flags that camera for maintenance.
1
u/FarplaneDragon 9m ago
Not at all, at least not the way they did it flooding it with images. They're going to realize the camera is missing and once they do theyll just flag and remove anything scanned afterwards especially since the massive increase in activity is going to be incredibly obvious on any metrics they monitor. Its the same thing when people try and flood businesses with bad reviews on google and google will just go back and remove everything from a certain point onward

u/Silent_Erremite 1h ago
Yup, the story in the background about how the robots took over and humans went extinct was interesting. Did you read it?
3
u/DoesntFearZeus 1h ago
Pretty busy meowing, exploring, knock stuff over but I'm sure I following along with that too.
3
u/Silent_Erremite 1h ago
They went extinct after a virus made them wall up the city. A bacteria started to eat waste and they made robots to keep the survivors company or something. Giving them human qualities and even dreams, I think. Don't quote me.

I'm gonna be real this smells more like a polymarket ad than anything else
1
u/Optimal-Tune-2589 1m ago
Yeah, it’s basically just a Polymarket tweet about a TikTok video in which some guy bought a camera, duct taped it to a chair, then flashed a bunch of license plates in front of it. It’s not actually “news” in any sense — like most of what’s on their Twitter feed — just an attempt to get people to engage with their accounts and promote their name. And based on this post, it seems to be working.

I quite clearly remember members of the American administration explaining how waterboarding was definitely not torture and perfectly acceptable as an "enhanced interrogation technique"
So now suddenly it's not okay?
3
u/GrumbleAlong 1h ago
Other than waterboarding, the Enhanced Interrogation Techniques were borrowed from the British use on IRA captives which the EU Comission on Human Rights deemed not to be torture.

It would likely be more effective if they had used random symbols on simulated license plates, with craZy state names.
That would increase the processing load exponentially.

3
u/Flakester 9m ago
I'm sure it's no accident that they're using terms like waterboarding so they can pin this guy as some sort of domestic terrorist.

do we know what their resolution limits are....I reccon there must be a way to do this smaller, maybe similar tech to how some of the AR glasses provide a larger screen.

Did any of you ever play Horizon: Zero Dawn 2? Old boy tortured a murderous AI to the point of insanity by showing it pictures of fluffy bunnies. Like it did so much damage it screwed with the AI's code.
I feel like this is happening here.
1
u/Comfortable_Pin5143 22m ago
Could this work on a Floop cam in the wild? Like trot out a laptop and give the hungry beast a slideshow buffet of Russian license plates?
1
u/Reverand33 19m ago
what would be amazing is if flock had to pay credits to some other AI company to run a plate through the system how fast you could rack up fees for them doing this.
