As a schizophrenic, I learned the hard way there is some truth to it for some. Many of us really are living with dissonant tormentors trapped inside of our bodies seemingly impervious to most consequences.
The little assholes tend to have a mastery in exploiting all your vulnerabilities living their entire lives inside your body and all, manipulating nearly every element of your reality from memory and reasoning to your very visceral experience of emotion and pain.
Consciousness for many of us becomes a desperate attempt at keeping all of our parts from killing each other.
It's fascinating to hear those with potential serious mental illnesses talk about their conditions with detachment. Sorry if this comes off as overly clinical -- it's great you're able to manage it!
I have zero qualifications to talk about mental illnesses, but I noticed that they kept referring to their own mind as if it were separate entities as well.
I hear what you're saying. I appreciate you sharing your experiences. However I'm talking about the general public. There are many people who use this as an excuse after committing heinous crimes or even stupid crimes.
A lot of people are malingerers as well trying to fake their Schizophrenia so that they don't have to do their prison time.
So confused... being in a hospital or medical setting Im afraid to move around the room knowing everything around me cost like a year or more of salary for me to replace.....
Yeah, most dentists cant start practicing at their own office because all the basic gear takes a lot of money (here in Brazil its like 20.000 dollars at least).
I wish I was that cool. The idea of casually doing a handstand on a chair that probably costs more than a Porsche is just not something I could pull off.
