Those chairs cost an average of about $30000 depending on the model. A single one of those drill handpiece lines or air/water lines (triplex) can cost well over $1000 to replace. The light reflectors are usually a couple of hundred per shield. This does not count any of the damage to handpieces or other tools, which can also run over $1000 each to replace depending on the tool.

He'd better hope nothing is actually broken

But making it on the front page of Reddit?

Priceless.

Looks to me something is cracked on the reflector. I bet the dentistry ate this bill because they didn't realize what he'd done because he looks like the type to skip out without telling anyone.

He did break the tv, so there’s that.

Did he?

Nevermind, just rewatched it and that black line running across the screen was already there.

I thought the same thing at first and had to rewatch. I thought maybe you saw something different.

Sounds like total absolute BS.

Dentistry is still healthcare, and we all know how healthcare likes to fuck over people with inflated prices in the US

My guess is that's probably around $5k in damage, if not more. Source: I own these

I hope they still charge him for it. What's he gonna do, post this video as evidence that nothing was broken? lol. They kind of have a slam dunk case here. He deserves it.

Can you get this stuff cheap if it's not-for-use and going to be disposed of? Like if you were wanting it for making a film/tv show?

Not saying it's what happened, but there's always the chance this is staged. That's sadly just as likely (depending on costs) as this guy being a douche

The average person doesn’t know enough to set up the appropriate instruments correctly. Dental sets in movies are frequently inaccurate (though Finding Nemo’s dental jargon is pretty good). This is a real set-up.

Ah good point. I guess a small part of me was trying to save humanities innocence haha
