Forever Beta Feedback Dungeon XP Nerfs Created a Toxic Meta

Since dungeon monsters do not give any experience, as a new player, getting into dungeons with more veteran players who try to skip half the dungeon feels really bad. And, vice-versa, veterans taking in newbies who don't know how to jump around feels frustrating. I think Blizzard created a mess with nerfing dungeon exp so much and now the new player experience is horrible for dungeons.

Man all this retail community speedrunning minmaxxing bullshit just makes me hope for the Hardcore release sooner than later.

Crazy how toxic this game has seemingly become just in the beta :(

It's not retail. It's the thing called WCL gets to dictates how players play the game. Stack ranking brings out the most vile shit from people. It was a tool intended to replay encounters, but now it has become a thing for toxic sweats to feel good about themselves and label others as "trash/noob".

Invention of WCL and Raiderio is what led retail to become the soulless stack ranking game today; everybody is just a slave to the ranking and ratings.

Logs have nothing to do with dungeons. It's purely the xp change. Why spend extra time clearing the dungeon after your quests are done for pitiful xp you can get from killing 3 mobs outside the dungeon.

Logs have everything to do with everything in this game. If you are the first to raid, you are guaranteed 100 parse. If you hit 60 earlier, you can start raid prep earlier. So people want to hit max level fast. What you are seeing is an epitome of the toxic competitiveness trickling from the top.

The toxic people will all get to max lvl real quick and get bored.

I plan on taking my time and enjoy the leveling experience/community. I’m playing Shaman and healing through dungeons so if they try to rush it and don’t get healed fast enough then 🤷. I’m not a speed runner, idgaf.

It’s the biggest reason I’m not enjoying it like I used to. Everyone just polishing spreadsheets instead of enjoying a game.

Classic is literally known for its toxic min/max community in 2019. Look online for newbie guilds, some of them have 200+ concurrent players, you will always find nice players to play with in those.

Just ignore the chatter, it's mostly a bunch of whiners who feel entitled to getting stuff their way. They buff the quest xp....people complain it's too fast. They nerf mob xp, it's too slow... These people will be 60 in a couple weeks on release and will have spent more time in the forums or on reddit complaining about dungeons than actually in dungeons playing the game.

Has nothing to do with retail like what? Classic community started pushing speedrunning and minmaxxing way harder, its all I had to deal with at one point and it got dull with how easy the game is.

This situation you're describing literally does not exist on the Beta right now. Did you even play the beta? Every group I made or joined were the most chill people just happy to be there and enjoy the new content, A lot of people helped me on long quests they were not even on. I helped others with quests I wasn't on too. The community is amazing on forever.

It’s really not… i go home and boot up and still running dungeons with parties that are more often than not on the casual side. People on Reddit are always going to be toxic and minmaxxing because we are a subset of the playerbase that cares a little too much about the game
