In this post, I've linked a Google Doc that outlines my custom Boom or Doom fantasy basketball format. The document includes a complete scoring and strategy handbook, as well as a link to a condensed Quick Start Guide for managers.
I'm sharing these resources for anyone who enjoys league design and may want to use some of the ideas in their own fantasy basketball league. At the same time, I'm currently looking for managers interested in joining an 8-team Sleeper Fantasy Basketball league built around this format.
This league is designed for NBA fans who enjoy active roster management throughout the season, including waiver activity, trades, and strategic lineup decisions.
The handbook serves as the league's official rules, scoring, and strategy guide. It explains every league setting, scoring category, bonus interaction, and roster-building concept that defines the Boom or Doom format. Beyond simply outlining the rules, it is intended to help managers understand how the scoring system influences player value, draft strategy, and roster construction.
The Quick Start Guide is a condensed companion resource that highlights the most important concepts from the handbook. Rather than explaining every rule in detail, it functions as a practical reference for draft preparation, player evaluation, waiver decisions, and trade discussions throughout the season.
For most managers, I recommend reviewing the handbook first to understand the scoring structure and the types of players who thrive in this format. After those concepts are understood, the Quick Start Guide becomes an easy reference tool leading up to the draft and throughout the season.
If you're interested in joining my league, I have posted a public, free-to-join league on Sleeper. Feel free to send me a PM, and if there is space, I can send you the link to join. but please feel free to read explore and use parts of this format for your own league.
