Probably the same reason for Flock execs looking at cameras in children's gyms.

Who said epstein was dead?
38
u/Longshot02496 4h ago
Isn't there an actual theory that he isn'y dead? And no I'm not talking about the palm beach Pete thing
72
u/OkFineIllUseTheApp 3h ago
The theory is based entirely on a fortnite account registered to his email having activity after his death.
On one hand, it would be incredibly stupid for Epstein to have broken all contact with everyone, then break opsec by playing Fortnite.
On the other hand, that wouldn't even be the dumbest plot twist of the year.
27
u/Firecat_Pl 3h ago
Also I partially belive it is true, simply due to or Occam's razor, and the fact that politicians are genuinely that bad
15
u/OkFineIllUseTheApp 3h ago
Was it this year or last year that the admin added a journalist to their group chat?
6
u/Able-End-339 3h ago
Was that only last year? Before I looked it up (it was March 2025) I was kind of convinced that happened during the end of 2020. The last year has felt that long.
15
u/Hopeful-Brain8622 3h ago
No it is not based entirely on that fact. There are multiple reasons to suspect he didn't die, like the money moving in an out of his bank accounts and the biggest reason for suspicion is his suicide. Along with the many crazy coincidences leading to him first being able to kill him self at all (he was on suicide watch) and then the footage camera footage going poof, Epstein was obsessed with living forever and while having friends in high places (or people he could blackmail) along with having hours long meetings with his lawyers, he didn't have a reason to give up yet nor would suicide fit his character at all in any circumstance. What I laid out here is just the surface of the iceberg and there's a lot more.
ā¢
u/Succubace 48m ago
I don't see how any of that is an argument for why he's still alive rather than why it wasn't suicide.
13
u/I_upvote_downvotes 2h ago
They didn't even bother scrubbing the metadata on the prison footage. To this day you can still directly download the video from the DOJ and exiftool will show you how it was edited in premiere pro.
Nobody said shit about this and nothing came of it. If there were consequences to being dumb as fuck it would've propagated by now.
Wouldn't be hard to convince me that he's alive, playing fortnite, and moderating a dozen or so subreddits in his spare time.
ā¢
9
u/TheAmina2GS 3h ago
Epstein was held by a pro-pedophile department of the government under a pedophile-led federal government in a facility staffed by pedophiles, and he is the king of pedophiles. I have no evidence to suggest he's alive, but it wouldn't surprise me.
5
u/ImportantGarbage9122 3h ago
I haven't read any individual theory as I find it rather futile, but since he lived in the world of espionage and had lots of classified knowledge, I wouldn't be surprised if an agency (US or otherwise) took him in and faked his death. The same can be said about the opposite, though.
There's no way for a layman to find out either way, but unlike someone else with similar conspiracy theories like Michael Jackson, it does make sense.
ā¢
u/Omegaprime02 38m ago
Considering the official reason they were looking at that camera is 'as part of a sales pitch'.
Why is watching children do gymnastics for hours something you want to show in a sales pitch? Who the hell are you selling this shit to?
24
u/Marcinowski_Kock 4h ago
And the fix is going to be a dropdown menu so they have to pick a real sounding reason before doing the exact same thing

I canāt believe the fucking cops would use the Flock Cameras to spy on people
15
u/DoctahFaust 4h ago
Especially not those cops who have been using it to spy on their significant others and exes.
41
u/snacktopotamus 4h ago
And the response from Flock to this shit was to just eliminate the requirement to type into the reason field. Now there's just a drop-down selector which I imagine just has options like "LMAO".

Yeah; massive 4th Amendment violation. There really needs to be some sort of significant punishment for a government representative knowingly and voluntarily violating civil rights. Like 30 years in prison. The government isn't a discontiguous monarchy and we're not its subjects.
13
u/tallman11282 4h ago
Don't you know it's only a 4th amendment violation if the government operates the cameras themselves? It's perfectly fine for them to purchase the exact same information from private companies.
That's how it seems, anyway.
8
u/occamsrzor 4h ago
Thatās the argument, yes. But philosophically (as in Constitutional Philosophy) the violation occurred on the act of inferring association regardless of method of acquisition
6
u/HarpersGhost 2h ago
When are we getting HIPAA for law enforcement?
Because HIPAA scares the crap out of people in the medical field. Your access is logged and if you don't have a legitimate reason for looking at someone's medical record? Bam, $10k fine. Per instance. And it goes back five years.
That would be $19 MILLION for just that one officer.
But then all those cops would have to give up one of the main perks of the job: running unofficial background checks for relatives/friends.
2
u/GitEmSteveDave 1h ago
You've been mislead by the meme. You don't search individual cameras in individual towns. You enter a plate into the search field and it searches a database. You don't say you searched 19 trillion web pages on 2 billion computers when you google something.
1
u/HarpersGhost 1h ago
.... Depends on how the law would be written, wouldn't it? The law could be written to define a single instance in any way it wants to be. Could be every time you hit enter on a search variable. Could be the number of cameras attached to the database.
15
u/Randommaggy 4h ago
Capital punishment should always be on the table for those that use their position as a public servant to destroy the trust of the rule of law.

Look cops are people with a job to do. But do I trust them just because theyāre cops? No, that would be foolish. I donāt trust them, I donāt like them, and we need to rethink how much power they have. Theyāre just people and thereās plenty of shit people.

Also while we have no privacy, this guy's name is protected. They even "accidentally" reveal minors names regularly, and the accused. But a cop violating people's privacy like this is ironically given privacy.

you know, when WA made a law that any access of ALPRs by cops needs to be related to a stolen vehicle, felony, or endangered person, I was wondering how they would enforce that.
Turns out cops are too stupid to even pretend to follow the rules.

If IRS employees typed that into their reasons for access they be arrested by TIGTA.

u/Vault-Born 4h ago
privacy is a constitutional right and scanning everyone everyday with AI generates constant false positives- literally thousands a day, that's why you've already heard stories of people being arrested based on flock data even in states they've never visited and even when they can prove they were somewhere else at the time of the crime.
25
9
u/Xer0_Puls3 4h ago
Police were expected to provide valid reasoning for every query into a mass surveillance system and it was expected that all queries would be for official police work. Instead the "reasoning" was literally written down as "LMAO" and was not used for official police work but was instead blatantly used to satisfy personal interest.
The problem isn't inherently the cameras, they do solve some problems. Its how they're being utilized and treated like toys.
2
u/Belisaurius555 4h ago
So first problem is Blackmail. Cops are people and people are flawed. Some activities aren't illegal but are embarrassing or socially awkward.
Second, if you're always being watched you're never going to be able to relax. You'll slowly go crazy trying to keep the performance up.
Third, we already have people selling personal data for financial gain. Those Spam emails? Telemarketers? They'll buy your data off the black market and use it to harass you every day to buy crap you neither want nor need. That's also assuming that this information isn't used for prejudice, profiling you for every job, store, and loan before you ever enter the door.
2
1
u/sudoSancho 2h ago
Tell me everything you're doing, all the time
Oh, you don't want to share everything you're doing all the time with people you don't know and may use that information against you?
Why not? Are you a criminal or something? Honestly, your insistence on maintaining your privacy seems is a little... suspicious...
You know what? That's fine. I'll just track everything you're doing all the time, from a distance, without your permission
Don't you feel safer now that people you don't know can know everything you're doing, all of the time?
ā¢
u/BackgroundSummer5171 30m ago
but I don't really understand what the big deal is? Could someone explain to me the problem?
Warrant-less.
The reason we have cops go through a system to get a warrant is to make sure they aren't abusing their powers.
Cops are not supposed to search for individuals for fun. Or for their own relationships. Or whatever. They should do it for the tax payers by going through getting a warrant.
This skips that because it is a private entity selling it.
We should not live in an era where a private entity (there are many) can just put up cameras and track us, then sell that to anyone to use.
That is literally skipping protections we had in place for us as citizens in our own privacy.
(Before anyone starts the, "There is no privacy in public", there is. Within reason. This goes way beyond reason and why the courts in states have been dealing with this shit)
Mass surveillance, by private companies, that can be accessed by those who pay.
That cost the tax payers.
That clearly is already being abused by police.
You don't see a problem? I know this sound stupid, but maybe just stop. And think. Don't ask us, just think a little. Don't reach for your phone, just think.
