Forever Beta Feedback Dungeon XP Nerfs Created a Toxic Meta

Since dungeon monsters do not give any experience, as a new player, getting into dungeons with more veteran players who try to skip half the dungeon feels really bad. And, vice-versa, veterans taking in newbies who don't know how to jump around feels frustrating. I think Blizzard created a mess with nerfing dungeon exp so much and now the new player experience is horrible for dungeons.

Blizz needs to add an objective that rewards xp for clearing the whole dungeon, meaning all bosses and adds need to die. Only way to “make” the group clear everything, alternatively perhaps 90% of the minions but with anything less than 100% it will trigger dungeon pathing.

Couple this with a reduced xp reward by 33% each time you do the same dungeon with a 24 hr cooldown is the way.

That and make it so all the mobs in the dungeon get aggroed when you pull the als boss (or within region of the dungeon for really big ones like brd)

I think you are cooking on this one, NGL this addition would help alot.

Classic WoW in particular has a lot of degenerate skips compared to later expansions so I think this would be nice to have provided it isn't too extreme.

Though I'd rather they do this a bit sparingly and only target the most egregious skips because most dungeons without specific "skips strats" still had plenty of skippable packs.

I would really enjoy this and add another rule where all players are at the dungeon range or lose xp at an exponential rate highest leveled player is outside that range. I know some math people know what’s the formula would look like.

Prevent people from selling dungeon runs and still rewards xp to run them more than once. The gear won’t matter once we are on the live server beside twinks so it’s a decent compromise for those who enjoy dungeon dives.

At the risk of this blowing up, it almost sounds like a decent way to do this would be how retail does mythic+ but with no timer. Must kill most/all bosses, must kill some percentage of trash (could be lower than retail given there shouldn't be the "pull 8 rooms at once" meta based on what blizz has claimed their goals are), and then the suggestion you had of making some sort of diminishing XP reward for spamming one dungeon over and over. Seems like the best of both worlds to me, though I'd be curious on feedback

I feel like that could become more toxic where tanks will get flamed for not knowing the optimal path or dps accidentally pulling stuff.

Yeah I can definitely see that. On the flip side, having no required amount of trash means the meta for experienced players becomes skip as much of the trash as possible due to no xp incentive and tanks will still be flamed for pulling too much. I feel like maybe there's a balance of it being a low percentage of total trash required (basically just follow the path ish?) but still require some to fully complete a dungeon for a full dungeon clear incentive. Blizz is in a tough spot for this since I think at least the loud part of the community has proven in every way I can think of that they'll find ways to be toxic to non-meta slaves. I just want a chill fun classic ish style gameplay experience
