A little about Couper [u/coupmoorhead](u/coupmoorhead)

Hi, [r/heat](r/heat), I’m Couper Moorhead, Manager of Basketball Content with the Miami Heat entering my 17th season covering the team from inside the building. Before games finally get going, Ask Me Anything.

@CoupNBA
@coupnba.bsky.social

A new thread will be created on 10/3 @ 12PM ET where you can ask him your basketball questions. If you can’t make that day but would like to ask a question drop it here and I’ll copy it over to the new thread.

“We’re gonna assault the rim. Literally going downhill to the rim. People don’t say it, but they say it, we have Spo. He’s never got COY. I don’t know why” — Bam Adebayo on how him and Giannis will fit together 🔥

Nikola Jovic playing 1’s with Pelle Larsson, Keshad Johnson & Myron Gardner today. Spending a lot of time with the wing group, says this is the part he’s prioritizing since these are the guys teams threw at him last year

Just spent some time with Bobby Portis Jr. He referenced Giannis’s “1 to 2 year” comment. And started laughing. “He’s a troll, man.”

Jovic says last year he felt he wanted to be ‘the guy’: “I always want to do everything. Which isn’t always that smart. Last year I made my game too complicated where I was trying to do everything and ‘hey, I wanted to be the guy.’ I wanted to be the scorer, I wanted to be the passer, everything.”

Klay on Spo: "I see why Mr. Riley trusts him so much. He cares. He respects your work, but he also wants to get the most out of you & he doesn't believe in you’re past your prime or your best yrs are behind you. He believes you can still be effective at any stage as long as you're willing to work."

Giannis: “I’ve never been apart of something like this. — I want to leave my mark. I want to know when this chapter is over, if I’m only here for a year, two or whatever it’s going to be I want to leave my mark”

Karl-Anthony Towns Sr. calls out Jimmy Butler “It only hurt me as a father to hear people saying stuff that was negative that wasn’t true to bring him down. But in the end, it all paid up. Jimmy ain’t got no championship. Karl bypassed him.”

Giannis on his first impression of Erik Spoelstra: "He's going to push me. I can tell he's going to push me. He's going to be very direct with me. He's going to tell me what he expects of me. He's going to keep me accountable."

Articles [Weinerberger] Giannis on adjusting to the Heat's fast pace: "It's probably gonna take some time for me to get used to it. We were playing pickup the other day, and I was the last guy in transition, which is new to me. They were moving."

Who is going ?

What are you expecting or want to see from this game ?

I think this team cannot wait enough to get on the court and it should be a special pre season game with those competitors.
