A whole country trying to please their crazy, insane dictator, just so they can live another day. I can’t even imagine what fear they have to experience every single day.

Imo, the spookiest part of modern regimes (and historical) is mostly the social pressure of the masses as a whole

There aren’t really armies with enough willpower to take insurgencies that don’t want to be taken, but it’s for sure going to be a witch hunt if you break a superstition or the neighborhood sells you out

“Take That, Kim” says our own dear leader

10

u/---0________0--- 14h ago

'Take that' says our leader as he salutes a North Korean general

Oh sure, he famously didn't work with the opposition party or keep other party members in cabinet positions to better run the middle east wars he inherited.

u/bureX 14h ago

There is a system behind him, a system that rewards loyalty. The dictator can’t do jack shit without a good share of loyalists and true believers.

u/LordAmarilo_1 3h ago

Over here the regimens lap dogs get new cars, a slight increase in pay and a meaningless promotion... It is disgusting... They just worry about them selves and their families.

Of course, it is not as bad as North Korea, those people live in hell...

22

u/swinchester83 17h ago

Not just themselves their entire family.

You fuck up bad enough and they kill everybody.

3

u/ForgotToCarryTheOne 17h ago

Exactly. “Have you ever watched your family get skinned alive, Joey?”

3

u/ZadriaktheSnake 15h ago

Sure, that’s a totally sustainable and logically feasible system and definitely not propaganda

4

u/swinchester83 14h ago

So you're saying for sure that's it's not threatened and that it had definitely never happened?

•

u/ZadriaktheSnake 2h ago

It sounds very unlikely. And even if it were true, after the shit NK has been through, I’d give it a free pass on pretty much anything short of genocide

•

u/SwampWeasel 21m ago

You will not find kindness defending this point around here, unfortunately. Reddit liberals would rather feel morally superior dunking on the regime of a country that was bombed to damn near mental oblivion and defended their territory against multiple invaders.

Yes the DPRK has a history of violent reprisal and repressing individual rights, severely.

They literally could not kill everyone the western world acts like they could, and still be growing at the rate they are. At the end of the day, it’s internalized racism and Western-exceptionalism, and the people who talk shit about the DPRK do it as a security blanket that “at least we aren’t them”.

Literal child brained behavior.

•

u/Inevitable-Level-687 9h ago

Sometimes you don't need propaganda.

I've read autobiographies by North Korean refugees. They had a lot of anti-US propaganda growing up. Every single bit of propaganda about the United States was factually, verifiably true.

No reason it can't be the other way around.

North Korea isn't important enough to go to the effort to make up propaganda about it any more.

•

u/ZadriaktheSnake 3h ago

Nearly all of the time North Korean defectors give very cartoonishly exaggerated stories with no evidence so I’m inclined to not believe them

43

u/Dismal-Display-370 18h ago

I don't think even other dictators of the world can make people behave like this.

She don't even bite into the meat, she sucks it clean to the bone.

39

u/HueyBluey 17h ago

Eww.

31

u/Motley_Illusion 17h ago

I remember this classic picture, especially the top right lady.

Also reminds me of the weird fetish that conservatives have for blonde white women (whether natural, but mostly dyed).

7

u/Ultrawhiner 16h ago

She’s actually licking her lips…

6

u/noassumedname 12h ago

MMMMMMMMMMMM

•

u/punx3030 1h ago

It’s sad cause only 2 things those woman and Trump have in common, hair color and hate. Without hate they would be good people…

152

u/SiriHowDoIAdult 18h ago

27

u/BrowningLoPower 17h ago

Fair point, but Trump supporters are doing it of their own volition.

42

u/SapereAudeAdAbsurdum 17h ago

Which, in many ways, makes it scarier.

9

u/Arthropodesque 15h ago

Partly, but it's the culture they live in. Nobody wants to be ostracized by family, friends, school, church, clubs, bars. If they say something considered improper they get corrected, ridiculed, cut off. Like the crazy relative nobody talks to anymore or the raving lunatic in the bar.

•

u/DetachedRedditor 10h ago

Well there is also a propaganda machine telling them to do what they do.

•

u/FittersGuy 3h ago

For now.

•

u/polloasado81 10h ago

Is that Tracy Morgan eating in front of them?

15

u/zakihazirah 18h ago

One of them desperately wants to

1

u/Funny-Carob-4572 12h ago

I reckon Xi could and Putin with a small group.

2

u/JAXONGALAXYSPUSSE 17h ago

Send a couple bombs over there and set em free. Oh wait we already tried that and killed like 20% of the population. Oh well.

-5

u/UCFknight2016 18h ago

As an American I can relate on a much, much different level.

13

u/overlord_cow 17h ago

This is so fucking disrespectful to people who live or have lived in actual authoritarian regimes it’s insane.

8

u/spittlbm 17h ago

The American shit show isn't anywhere close to living in daily fear.

3

u/Bobambu 15h ago

There are children in detention camps in America.

-3

u/Salt_Ice_5321 17h ago

But their democratically elected president does things they don't agree with! Literal fascism!

2

u/Intrepid_Egg_7722 15h ago

No you don't and you're a dumb ass for saying that.

american complains about america: these americans are making it about america again!

american doesn't complain about america: these americans don't even know or care that their leader is a fascist!

11

u/DookieShoez 17h ago

They didn’t “make it about america”, they just shared something and mentioned where they’re from. Come off it

1

u/UCFknight2016 18h ago

cry harder

1

u/VirtualLife76 17h ago

A whole country trying to please their crazy, insane dictator, just so they can live another day. I can’t even imagine what fear they have to experience every single day.

Aren't they talking about murica?

-2

u/XXXJoeyHXXX 18h ago

If we didn't, I'm sure you "furiners" would! Hehehe

1

u/lIllIlIIIlIIIIlIlIll 14h ago

I feel like you're viewing this with Americanized eyes.

If you were plucked out from where you are right now, and put into this environment, you'd think you were being forced to please your crazy dictator and life was a day-to-day struggle.

But if you actually consider how people live in a dictatorship, it's not coercion (it is), but it's pride. There a very careful crafting of said pride by the state, but you don't know or feel that.

•

u/JordanPromise 8h ago

Eh, I was a kid (pre-k) in the crowd for a Communist dictator. He was there just as a pic. We sang in his honor about himself and his wife. We had placards spelling his name. And you know what? We all had a blast and were so PROUD we were doing this. It was a defining event which inaugurated us being junior members in a Communist organization. We felt important.

This is what happens when there is only propaganda. And everyone is in the same boat.

•

u/NoiseMaker231 5h ago

You can go to NK and talk to the people living there yourself

•

u/postbansequel 4h ago

The Great Auditorium, inside the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing, China is the largest theater for performing arts in the World, only second to North Korea.

•

u/AnalSexPenis 3h ago

The US is only at 50% rn

•

u/cr0ft 2h ago

But enough about America,. this is about North Korea.

•

u/masimiliano 30m ago

Are you talking about Trump's America?

•

u/jdk-88 11h ago

He is a good friend of Trump. Trump is envious and dreams of getting the same reaction whenever he appears anywhere.

•

u/CeeDubMo 9h ago

It’s not so hard to imagine. Look at the way republicans gobble Trump. If the rest of us weren’t here to stand in the way our country would look a lot like NK. Fortunately Trump is at the early stages where he can only kill a few of us at the time rather than mass killings to shape the entire society the way NK has. We await to see how far our country will go down this path before the voters set things right. It’s been a long decade now of moral and civic decline among certain Americans and it won’t be easy to change their hearts and minds.

•

u/PMvaginaExpression 11h ago

Why you hating on america like that

•

u/SenpaiMinii 9h ago

U talkinf about America?

0

u/That-Living5913 16h ago

It's not hard. Just watch the current American executive branch, but pretend everyone who gets fired is also executed. Sean Spicer and Huckabee are great examples.

0

u/Zoranealsequence 15h ago

This is Trumps wet dream.

0

u/HablarYEscuchar 14h ago

That's true. I don't know how people can put up with Trump.

•

u/Tremor0135 11h ago

At least this crazy, insane dictator didn't start a single war unlike some super intelligent orange man.

0

u/MassiveBoner911_3 17h ago

Mass execution

-1

u/bruceleeperry 15h ago

Yes but what about NK?

/s but you know what I'm saying)

-3

u/PsychologyOk6502 17h ago
