I recently bought a new gaming PC after only console gaming for roughly 12 years. Before that, I had a gaming PC that eventually got fried during a storm, and I was only like 16 at the time, so I never got another one.
Until the other day! Finally! It's all set up, I have a ton of games installed, I can finally make use of all the games I've been buying on steam in preparation for this moment. Huzzah!
Only one problem though: I hop into games, mess with the graphics settings, tweak things, and then stare. Close, open a different game, make sure it's running smoothly, then... Close it.
I've forgotten how to PC. I've forgotten the joy that gaming brings. I enjoy all types of games, but I can only seem to repeat this cycle. Download a few more games, rinse and repeat.
I've been waiting for this moment for years, I'm at a point in my life where I can finally afford the things I've always wanted, I was so excited to get this baby up and running and now...
I just feel lost. I remember when I was younger, I'd spend all my time on my computer. Not just gaming, there were other things I did too, I just can't seem to remember what the fuck they were.
I'm not a part of any gaming communities, I don't have any friends to play games with as life has drifted us apart. I guess I just feel super lonely? Maybe I don't know how to make online friends anymore? Which is funny, because I'm still friends with people I played on a Minecraft server with from over a decade ago. We talk somewhat regularly.
I thought this PC would reignite my love for gaming and PCs, and while it has in some aspects, it's fallen short due to my own ignorance.
Anyone have any advice so I don't feel like I just wasted 3 grand?
